Why are trannies hated by the rest of the LGBT community?

In my opinion, it all boils down to what news people pay the most attention to, when it comes to trannies.

Fluff article about a tranny getting treatment? Oh, that's nice.

People like Stefonknee, Chris-chan, or Phil are brought into the limelight? All trannies are disgusting fakers and they should be culled.

I said this before in another thread, but I'll say it again: people are more likely to pay attention to the bad news involving a subgroup of people--and in turn, focus on the bad apples in said subgroup--than care about the people who are bothering to make a difference, or are just trying to go about their lives without getting noticed as much as possible.

It can be said for any group of people, especially fandoms. If enough people do shitty things while affiliating themselves with a certain group, others will start to think that group is the bane of humanity or some shit.

I don't know if there's a word for this social effect. It just kind of happens. That's why most legit trannies try to keep as lowkey as possible, and only bring up their identity when it's relevant.

The vocal prevalence of the transgender community causes a sort of cognitive dissonance among the LGB part of the "community", those of whom are typically feminist. Feminist theory/consensus up until lately firmly held the belief that gender is entirely a social construct. But now transgenderism has become a huge phenomenon it seems, or at least more people are being open about it and claiming to suffer from gender dysphoria, and people in that pro-transgender group argue that gender is not a social construct, but it's some kind of innate "feeling" or state of mind, or a set of arbitrary aesthetic attributes, like frilly pink things, that make a person a man or a woman. So this has caused a sort of schism where you have the so-called "TERFs" who deny the validity of transgenderism and then you have the simultaneously feminist, pro-transgender, pro-whatever, i.e., SJW, types who unwittingly hold contradictory beliefs, or if they do have an inkling of questioning about it all, they keep it to themselves for fear of upsetting the status quo of modern day, intellectually lazy Tumblr-style quasi "activism".

LGB people hate T people for the same reasons straight people hate trans people. A pretty big problem as far as transgender advocacy is that the vast majority of trans people don't want people to known they're trans, and even those who don't pass try to stay out of the public eye, so those at the forefront of trans advocacy are people like Stefonknee, who don't particularly paint a nice picture. Combine that with how little is known about transgenderism by the public as a whole - after all, ignorance breeds fear, fear breeds anger and anger breeds hatred - and you have one hell of a recipe there.
For LGB people this is compounded with the fact that for a long time, LGB advocacy centered around gay people are just like straight people - gay men are still manly and lesbians are still feminine - which led to some serious blow-back on effeminate gay men in particular, and trans people have been collateral damage on that one. Because there is still a belief in a lot of people, including LGB people, that transgenderism is just 'gay turned up to eleven' there's a lot of 'gay people aren't like those freaks' type A-logging towards trans people from the LGB community.

And yes, dislike of trans people from members of the LGB community is a real thing. Have encountered it myself IRL, from family no less.

a lot of lesbians have the same issue as straight men where they don't like being called fascist bigots for not wanting to sleep with someone who has a dick, so there's that.

I once saw a lesbian on Tumblr get bullied and shamed into rehearsing her childhood rape for an audience of complete strangers as an explanation of why she was afraid of PIV (she later edited or deleted the post- I can't tell.)

Humans are naturally tribal by nature- we have racial tribes, religious tribes, political tribes, hobby tribes, sexual tribes, video game tribes... We've never really changed that much as a species.

No, but it has some interesting similarities. Actually many Internet subcultures do. IMO tumblr is one of the worst but I hate their guts. I'm not exactly objective.

Because by nature of their goals, the passable ones don't go around talking about it and are possibly the silent majority of trans people...numbers will never be all that accurate when the ones who have transitioned passably don't say shit about it, have their desired gender on the documents and are holding down a decent job.

Just from what I've seen, it might have a small something to do with the fact that a lot of transgender/trender types are a mite dishonest about their goals (IE: their genitalia) and yet still expect you to sleep with them even if you're incompatible in that way - going into full REEEEEEEE mode if you refuse.

If you take a group of people who see themselves as having fought for acceptance and the idea that their sexual/romantic preferences aren't a choice, and then throw "but you'll sleep with me despite my vagina because I'm a dude, right?" at them, they're going to get just a little bit miffed.

It's basically the same 'you can totally be straight if its for someone you LOVE' spiel, except this time, it's from Tumblr instead of Rapture Ready, if that makes sense.

The farms aren't a safe space hugbox where dissent is automatically banned lest it hurt the fee-fee's of thinskinned cowards. Of course there's pile-ons when there's an unpopular opinion that goes against the grain, but that's common to every community. I imagine gays and lesbians would be pissed off by being grouped in with people suffering from a mental illness when being sexually attracted to a person of the same sex and wanting to be a different gender aren't even close to the same thing.

The issue is that being homosexual is biological. It has evidence throughout history (in fact, it was openly practiced in Ancient Greece and Rome) and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Transgenderism, when it is truly boiled down, is mental illness. Gender Dysphoria is a fucked up hard-wiring of the brain and/or chemical imbalance, like schizophrenia, autism, or the multitude of other mental illnesses we have on record. To me, enabling something like this with sex reassignment surgery is like handing someone with depression a gun or accepting the whims of a schizophrenic: It merely fuels the illness in general. Even if you believe I am wrong, we are unfortunately nowhere near technologically advanced enough to change sexes on a whim (just cosmetic) and most people that go through with a sex change end up regretting it years later. It merely deals with the symptoms, not the root cause.

And that's not even getting into the recent transtrender movement. Nowadays, it seems like every special snowflake and their otherkin are declaring themselves "trans" for the sake of being special and entitled to every little whim they have. This, on its own, is mental illness. Period. And it also takes away from the people who just want to shut up and try to live their lives.

Transsexualism was also openly practiced in many societies (hijra) and so was Schizophrenia (sorcerers, shamans, witches). I don't really understand your distinction between homosexuality being biological and Gender Dysphoria being "fucked up hard-wiring of the brain and/or chemical imbalance"

Allowing transition for actual transgender people is a lot less like giving a depressed person a gun and a lot more like giving a depressed person anti-depressants. See, this is the funny thing about the vast majority of mental illnesses - YOU CAN'T TREAT THE ROOT CAUSE. All they can do about depression caused by biological factors, bipolar, schizophrenia and a number of other mental illness is to treat the symptoms, and excluding a full-on brain transplant that's about as much as you're going to accomplish with transgenderism.
And, while it does end badly when somebody who ISN'T trans gets SRS, it ends just as badly when somebody who is trans doesn't get it. The difference is that the former occurrence is the individual's own doing, and also that, here in the UK at least, there are a number of factors in place to stop that happening, so unless you're rich enough to fly out to Thailand and get it done over there or are lying through your teeth to the doctors - in which case it's entirely your own fault - it's not likely to happen here. Informed consent clinics are not a thing over here.

This, but I'd like to add that you can literally find more statistics online showing the benefits of SRS and hormones and even evidence that leads me and many others to believe that it is a neurological condition and not a mental one.

More on topic with the thread, I think the reason trans people get such a bad wrap is that you mostly only hear the kinds we talk about here on the Farms. There are over seven billion people on the planet, so I have no doubt that there's transgender people who don't act like this.

The MtFs I know treat womanhood like a checklist: perform femininity hard enough and BAM you're a woman!!!! And they shamed my lesbian friend on facebook because she's a "vagina fetishist". She won't touch a cock, and this makes her transphobic.
