I also do hope they don’t do Striker dirty in the next episode either, probably the most interesting character to me in the series.
Do they still have Norman Reedus? Because I think that gives him some plot armor.
Or how about giving this one an actual personality besides being an aggressive, misanthropic bitch?
..........
How about Seeing Stars? She actually did display an actual personality in that episode.

She explained to Octavia that just because a dad was a fuckup doesn't mean you should ignore that he was at least trying. I really liked that. It came from her personal experience. And remember, she was the least favored member of that pound when Blitz adopted her. I generally viewed the character as little more than a stereotype before that.

And then we found in the scene when he was kidnapped to be on a TV show that he actually would go utterly berserk (and kill the studio audience) for Loona.

Would've been cooler if she had been given the Hurricane Neddy reply. Can't live off good intentions.

That's nice and all until you realize how comepletley unearned that little speech was. Loona the entire episode was so agressive towards Blitz and instead of taking her own advice to heart, she goes back to still acting like a complete bitch towards her adopted father. Also, love that she say Octavia's father is trying and looking for her, when we all know perfectly well he was way too busy fanboying over his favorite imp and his terrible comedy act.

Also, since Octavia is now canonically like 18 and she's the backup heir...
Shouldn't Stolas already have thought her basic job shit like needing a disguise in the human world by now???
Also, why is he lending the magic book out when his daughter most likely needs it to actually progress in her studies?

This is really my problem with what Viv has turned the Hazbin universe into. I originally was really into the idea of this version of hell where like 99% of demons die in the cyclical purge and that the 1% of demons that survive it are fucking ancient beings who come to epitomize sins themselves because they HAVE to be that powerful/guileful to survive.
You hit the nail right on the head here, the reason I hate Viv's hell is because the IDEA of it at the very start was pretty cool until it got watered down into a gay Tumblr/deviantart-style paradise that just so happens to be tinted red and the only people killed are unimportant side characters.
You two hit the nail on the head with Vivienne in general: her ideas are cool as fuck, but the execution of those ideas are OK at best, and the worst of 2000s-era Deviantart combined with 2016-era Tumblr at worst. It's as if she never grew up past high school, and the "OMG wouldn't it be SO COOL if...." phase of writing it comes with. Yeah, it would be cool, but it needs to have actual substance behind it first, otherwise.....well you know.

Because Viv is too obsessed with the gay owl and his imp butt slave to think any of this shit through. Also because Stolas is easily this shows worst character, in terms of both writing AND actions.

At least the one dimensional villains wear that shit on their sleeve. Stolas is a fucking snake wearing sheep's wool so thick not even he is aware of how much of a selfish weakling shitbag he actually is, and when I say "he" I mean Viv because she is clearly unaware of what an unlikable piece of shit she has written.

Don't forget about the divorced guy massively projecting or something.

Also still confused about how ages work.
So assuming imps age similarly to humans (I doubt such lowly creatures would be ancient, especially with many imps physically being elderly), and Stolas is about 32 years because he's barely older than Blitz, who the fuck was doing his job the many centuries before him? His dad? Did he have an older sibling who died before he was born?

Even if hell years are way longer than earth years, I don't think Blitz and with that Stolas have been around for longer than the human race...
I still think it's bs that they met as kids, it would have made way more sense for Stolas to be mentally 32 but chronologically 32.000 or something.
Having them age to adults at a completely normal pace and then be in the adult stage for forever seems kinda boring, especially when that growing stage perfectly coincides with the main character's.

It's not like '1000 year old magical prince/vampire/etc' is something disliked in yaoi fandoms, so why they felt the need to basically give him a normal human age I have no idea.

Octavia is apparently 18, but she seems way more like she's 13.
At her age, Stolas was already becoming a dad for some reason, yet she seems to know little magic and other actually important stuff, acts like a tween, and the book that she is supposed to be learning to use as precautionary heir is with someone else 99% of the time.
If she does have to suddenly take over, is she just gonna have to teach herself how to use it asap? How will she even get the book back? Isn't she now a full-grown adult by Ars Goetia standards?
Of course most of this won't actually be answered, because her character just exists as accessory to her oh so important dad.

You know, at some point, I unironically thought Viv was in her lateteens or early 20s at most, but no, she's apparently thirty. That's a liiitle old for all this.

I didn't even fully watch OZZIE's but Asmodeus is my favorite character, because from what I hear, he actually calls out Stolas for neglecting his family and status (Do we ever see Stolas like...doing his job, or preparing Octavia for it?) for some imp dick and he can't do shit about it because he outranks his bird ass.

If Viv keeps up the babying of Stolas (who am I kidding, we all know she will because he's the creator's pet) then I'm probably going to end up hating him, and I don't want to. It's a shame how his characterization now is such a far cry from what he was originally going to be as presented in the pilot. And of course Striker is somehow able to kidnap him in the next episode because we need the gay drama of Blitzo rescuing his boyfriend.

I just want to see more of Fizz and his past with Blitzo already. *sigh*

He does, that's one of the reasons why Ozzie's is among my favorite episodes. Asmodeus himself is great and I hope he gets to appear again soon too.

She too is trying. And yes, I appear to be going out of my way to cut her slack, but she had to adopt her horrible bitch persona to conceal her vulnerability. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

She's literally in animation. This is a profession where it's pretty much mandatory that you be an emotional retard of some sort.

Also just the very fact you have a show at all means you're probably in your 30s at the youngest. How many networks, even weird indie networks like A24, give shows to teenagers? Doesn't happen. About the only way you would get a job in the field at that age is if you were one of John K's groomed children.

Even back then I wonder how Zoophobia would've measured up to similar stuff from that time, like Inhuman. I don't think she was ever that good if what people say here is any indication.

Ah yes, she is "trying". I would agree with you if she wasn't such a flat character. As of now she is just a bitch; both physically and mentally.

Brah you just made realize something.
This show is just faggy Chainsaw Man.

How? I don't see it. Chainsaw Man is mostly people killing demons by sacrificing something to a demon to get some of their power. Plus Power and Denji are basically feral, human-demon hybrids. It's more like Jujutsu Kaisen.
The thing Chilson said about demons being killed in hell and the strongest surviving.
I also don’t even think when I post, because thinking is for queers.

I had this thought about another of Vivz's storytelling flaw. She has set up this whole universe where there is this very specific vision of Hell where you have souls of the people from the living world, but also various being native to Hell, you have the nine rings of Hell, and you have something resembling the human society in Hell.

But how does all of that work? Is there some kind of government structure? Are there any laws? Are there some traditions, customs? For example Loona's backstory. Under what circumstances was she born, and under which circumstances she landed in the kennel? Did her parents leave her straight after birth because that's how hellhounds act? Did she lost them at a young age? And also, when a hell being dies, or even a human soul, what happens to them? Do they get sent to some other realm? Do they get stuck in a limbo? Do they cease to exist? What's the deal with this interpretation of the rings of Hell? How does that work?

There's so much basis of world building laid out, yet she doesn't bother to elaborate on any of those, they're just there and that's it, and the entire focus of the series is her projecting her daddy issues on characters like Stolas. She came up with a good basic idea, never bothered to expand it, and got stuck in a perpetual loop of a Tumblr fanfic.

I've read she has contradictory explanations. One is that if their body is destroyed they will be stuck in any inanimate object for eternity like a couch, the ground etc. or that they just cease to exist and that's why Charlie wants to save them.
