The
original post said the encryption was in "Motorola 256-bit encrypted tactical communications systems," which I took to mean something more akin to walkie-talkies than drones. If they're Motorola branded they're probably something a little bit better than Alibaba junk, but yeah, if they were intended for the consumer market, there's a good chance they're using reused keys or keys from a limited pool. That said, a quick search shows that Motorola does make stuff they claim to be military-grade, so who knows. Russia lying or counter-intelling about having this stuff cracked could be a possibility too.
