Probably the 1929 date refers to the Danish "Law on Access to Sterilisation" passed that year. The text of the law is available (in Danish) here: Lov om Adgang til Sterilisation, 1. juni 1929 (archive).

With the Act on Access to Sterilization of 1 June 1929, Denmark was the first country in Europe to introduce access to sterilization. The law was a time-limited experimental law that opened up the possibility of voluntary "Intervention in the Genital Organs" (sterilisation/castration) in persons whose "abnormal strength or direction of sexual drive" was a danger to themselves or others (Section 1). This was especially aimed at indecency offenders. Section 2 allowed sterilization of "mentally abnormal" inmates if it was seen as important for society and beneficial for the person himself. So I have a unique situation. My dad named me after him, no middle name. I've always been the second and never really found it annoying. Hell, it felt unique - nobody else was a second, and everyone else had a middle name. My name was always quite interesting, I had fun without a middle name.

Well, fast forward. Now I'm going to be a father. At first my fiancee was okay with naming the child the third. Now I'm not as sure - she's hinting that she might not be okay with it. I don't know how strongly I want to fight for it. On one hand, I think that this is a very unique opportunity, and to have a line of 1-2-3 in a family history is just cool. I know that it would make my father ecstatic if I named my child the third. It even has a decent nickname (Trey). The thing is, I get my fiancee's point - it might get pretty confusing with three living Anthony's running around. She also wants a little choice in the matter.

Anyone else ever deal with this?
