All his whining about stalkers is going to fall on deaf ears because it is completely irrelevant. This is a discovery sanction and is generally automatically awarded to whoever wins a discovery dispute, regardless of the merits of the underlying case in which it occurred. It is to encourage parties to resolve their own discovery disputes by acting like adults instead of making the judge have to waste time with the parties squabbling like infants.

Hence, the losing party, whether they denied discovery when it was justified or made unreasonable discovery demands, gets to pay for the whole shooting match. It is not at all unusual for someone to win the underlying case, but end up owing more than the judgment they got because they screwed around with discovery.

The absolute best that happens is he's not immediately found in contempt at the end of the hearing, but dressed down and threatened with it lest he attend the hearing on a date certain under a renewed order. The absolute worst is he's immediately arrested for contempt for childing, defaults on the show cause hearing and is found in contempt for that, too, and thrown in jail until he has to show up in his jail duds to the debtor's examination.

I suppose it could be even worse if he rage pigs and ends up tased.

The most likely is somewhere in between. I think something like the daily fine starting if he doesn't attend the examination and comply by date X is pretty likely. What I'd like to see is this judge take over and do the examination himself to make sure no monkey pig business goes on.
