Worlds best businessman thinks brand recognition is stupid, rebrands one of the worlds most recognizable brands as an ungooglable vanity project.

Who on Earth told him rebranding to X was a good idea??
Elon just has an autistic attachment to the letter X.

He tried to make Paypal X.com, called his space ventures SpaceX, named his kid with the letter X, and now he's doing the same to Twitter.

You’d think he’d have reevaluated after he was ousted for trying to do it to PayPal. Can you imagine the amount of money it’s going to cost to get that to the top of Google searches.

Seems his "X" as a brand name is already trade marked to microsoft.

LOL omg watch Elon be sued into obscurity by Bill Gates. I can't wait to see the conspiracy theories abound.

Any lawfags in here, now that Elon has rebranded what does that mean for the original Twitter brand? I assume he still owns it and it can't be duplicated, but as he's not using it what is to stop someone from starting a new bird-themed social media site called....Tweeter or something?

Trademark infringement occurs when a competing product in a similar market presents itself as being the same as or similar too to an existing registered trademark.

For reference just look up the 100 year long fight between Hershey Ice Cream and Hershey Chocolate. Those two have done more for US trademark precedent then any companies bar none, and to this day there are people who STILL THINK THEY ARE THE SAME COMPANY. (They are not)

Long story short though, Elon can defend the Twitter brand, even as "X", so long as the idea in the market of Twitter as "X" exists, and he owns the legacy trademarks.

What do you make of this: The Zucks owns X

Something I'm curious about:

How the hell did Musk manage to legally name his child "X AE A-XII"?

Are there absolutely no restrictions on what names you can give your children in the USA? (Many countries restrict possible names to those which can be pronounced).

Also, @Polentic , the high school Musk attended is called "Pretoria Boys' High School", not "Pretoria High School" as you wrote in the OP.

Thank you, I am today going to redo this thread. With the new shit he's up to. This thread could be way funnier.

I will add Zuckerberg Slapfight, and improve the Grimes section.

And probably remove a LOT. If you have reccomendations. Please reply to this post.

Why would he care if it's a good idea? He's got a weirld autistic fixation on the letter X and come hell or high water he's going to get his 'evil villain X lair' he can control the world from. He's creating his own fantasy world IRL and fuck anyone who gets in the way.

He's the worst type of nerd, not as smart as he thinks he is but has a lot of power/money.

He's probably surrounded by cultists and sycophants at this point. The idea of anyone telling him anything other than "that's a heckin' awesome idea Elon, fr crazy how awesome your ideas always are" is unlikely.

I think the OP needs to include the 2018 "smoking weed on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast" and "calling the Thailand cave rescue hero a pedophile" sagas. I can write something up regarding these if you want.

Musk Takes a Stand, Challenges Pro-Censorship “Misinformation” Researchers Over Alleged “Hate Speech” Smears

Archive
Musk hastened to pledge legal action against the pro-censorship group Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) over charges it falsely portrayed the state of affairs on the rebranded social media platform.

Musk’s lawyers fired off a letter, made public on July 20 by CCDH, alleging that the research center made various unwarranted assertions about Twitter in eight different reports last year.
