I am not saying that Hector is directly responsible for Byuu's death, but I really think he and his tranny companions influenced Byuu's perception of KF and basically fearmongered the unstable, mentaly-ill, depressed guy to a point where he felt he has no other options than killing himself to escape it.

this is something i have often wondered myself. like what if hector was the one harassing byuu and going after his friends like he claims. maybe hector was jealous of byuus talent and the success it brought him. so hector being the obvious genius that he is made a bunch of sockpuppet accounts and used them to go after byuu then at some point he decided to pin it all on kiwi farms.

the reason being that he was gonna play the role of byuus savior while also getting a chance to attack kiwi farms a place he already was not a fan of. so he took advantage of byuus obviously unstable mental state and convinced him that the only way people would ever leave him alone is if he went away forever and that he would set it all up so that byuu could fake his death and leave japan without anyone noticing.

this is a victory for hector because not only is byuu gone but he also gets to enjoy a feeling of superiority over him knowing full well that he can never return without opening himself up to further harassment from the people who would instantly turn on him for faking his death no matter what the reason was.

the way hector seems desperate to prove byuus dead without ever being able to give us any real proof has always lead me to believe he has a bigger role in this than he lets on.

Unless I missed something, we still don't know if the person posting as "Wayne Beckett" was the actual person of that name. It was just another non-verifiable account on the internet, as far as I can tell, even when it was corresponding with the lazy "journalist".

This is one of my big theories as to why drama in tech circles seems so much more visible these days. From like 2001 until the early 2010s, most of the casual back-and-forth in tech circles happened on IRC or on unarchived mailing lists. I mentioned this in the Marisa the Magician thread, but anyone who'd interacted with these people back on IRC probably wouldn't be surprised by what they get up to nowadays.

The difference nowadays is that everything's on Twitter/Fediverse or Discord. Discord is somewhat private but since it preserves history, it's easy for anyone to get in to an invite-only Discord, download everything, and then dump it. The closest thing we had back in the IRC days were chat logs kept by bouncers and those usually were only accessible to whoever was running the bouncer.

I have been doing some stylometry analysis on Hector's and his company's posts recently. The aim is to find out who wrote the google document.

My methodology needs to be tweaked a bit because the style of the google document is different from the texts these guys write (right now I have about 600 mastodon posts by Hector and Lina, Hector's old blog at marcan.st and Alyssas's blog, and some of Near's writings). I'm doing various statistical tests on that corpus (set of texts). The google doc is written in past tense and talks mostly about Near, it has a form of testimony. Other of these texts are blog entries, they are written in the other tense to start with, and they focus on technical subjects. For this reason the google doc sticks out very much on all analyses I do. It is completely different. This does not prove or disprove who wrote it, because it is written in a different style. Author identification works only if the sample texts are the same genre/type.

What I need is a text written in a similar form and style, confirmed authored by Near, Hector or other person who could be the author of that google doc... I need some more time but the tool I made is extremely capable. I just need a similar type of text known to be written by one of them. I will go through Near's posts in his thread later to find something that fits.

But, to give you some results from the analyses I made so far

- Hector's and Alyssa's writing style is very similar. Actually, in one of the post's on Alyssa's blog ("Apple GPU drivers now in Asahi Linux", original, archive), Alyssa says the post was co-authored by Lina.
- Near's writing style is moderately different from Alyssa and Hector
- Average sentence length of Lina's mastodon posts is about 2/3 of Hector's average sentence length on mastodon and Alyssa's sentence length on his blog. Lina on average 9.3 words per sentence, Hector and Alyssa 15.1 and 15.4. Near is also around 15. The average sentence length in modern english is 15 to 20 words.
- Lina's writing style is obviously forced
- There is an unusual correlation between Hector's and Lina's post timestamps, but I have to make a better chart to be sure. For now I made this histogram of the post's hour:


Some observations from this chart, as if it was not already obvious that Lina is Hector, are, first, they sleep around the same time. Hector more often writes posts in the morning, and Lina in the afternoon. Then they have two correlated peaks few hours before they both go back to sleep. Except for the morning, Hector's peak posting hour correlates to Lina's least posting hour. Times are in UTC.

The google doc came close to Hector's blog posts on one analysis that could be immune to the texts being a different type, but I have to think about it and redo it in a more proper way.
