The Windows OS Thread - Formerly THE OS for gamers and normies, now sadly ruined by Pajeets

Get Windows 8.1 Pro and install Classic Shell.
I’d love to use 10 but with all the misused xml script injection or the complicit use of SMB shares. Amazing concept to use, now let me use it without you adding moon runes to my slutty registry. Stop using tasks from the task list that haven’t been run from 1999 and stop forcing me into vb releases.

Can you tell a little more about this?
I've been experimenting a bit with 10 LTSC in a VM, since the 2019 release seems to be almost usable once you run ShutUp10 and lock down all the settings you can. I'd be interested in hearing about any lingering "dealbreakers" over 7/8.

Absolutely. My PATH variable in recovery environment had webm’s attached to it just now. If you look through your group policy settings you might see a bunch of setting dictating ownership via first browser use.

If I inspect the absolute path I’m almost running all shit through IE and my roaming profile even if I don’t set up anything but a local.

I can’t even get legit keys because of the setup scripts, if you look in like GetTicket.xml there is Java injection. My rig in the core.xml keeps getting setup as a server though it’s personal use.

If I manage to turn my sharing off at one of the 3 billion places the setting can be read from and lock down my policies, my ProfSrvc will fail to launch.

The segoui ttf file cannot be deleted and my offlinetrace.etl cannot either.
PS 7 is an incredible tool and I’ve been TRYING to use it with F#.
I honestly can’t tell you what the dealbreakers are because any change to system level policies can just lock you out and fucking poojets think nobody runs troubleshooters.
All my shit is ink’d to a roaming profile then selectively saved by what ever NT_Authority they generate to audit me.

Cisco, Google all require licensing extensions so it’s all fucked. BrowserCore.config or some shit holds your chrome id.

Tl;dr pretty much all com traffic is run through IE and locally saving System level settings is nigh impossible even after changing workgroups from default.

Windows 10 has been known from the beginning to have big security flaws.
All versions of Windows*
Windows wasn't designed for security, You can't use it as a server OS since the kernel and OS can't be hardened, and there might be some backdoor or terrible security bugs that the development team neglected for years

Finally got Windows Embedded 7 POSReady working for a small test machine I can remote into.

Seems to work a lot better than regular Win 7.

Why would Microsoft make a blue screen that is so unprofessional looking and appears like malware at first glance? Gave me a fright so bad I unplugged when it was just a non-essential file issue. I hate how less intuitive Windows 10 is for file management and lacking in easy customization.

Cutesy wutesy for normies!
That's ok, Microsoft will handle everything, they just need to collect every single thing you were doing leading up to the point of the crash then reboot for you.

Got any software for Win 8-10 that revamps and filters the shitty notification system? shit drives me up the wall especially when false positives trigger Windows Defender incessantly

So I use this Tool to Debloat Windows 10 recently after an Update I ran the Tool, but when I restarted my PC, the Update was back like it didnt install correctly.
Anyone has any Ideas?

Lol I think my HDD died today. I've turned my PC on and it only go to BIOS. I'll try reformating the OS.
What a pain in the ass, I lose my holiday.

That was basically true of all versions of non-NT Windows. Windows ME was the last release of Windows that was based on top of DOS.
The Windows 9x series had its own preemptively-multitasking kernel with rudimentary memory protection. They still used DOS to boot but most things on PC back then did (including Linux for a long time).

That happened to one of my relatives recently, if you didn't already reformat anything I'd reccomend you put something like gparted on a liveusb and see if the drive is actually dead, I (somehow) fixed the pc by changing UEFI to BIOS boot, no idea how that worked but it did

I've tried it with a bootable USB with W10. I couldn't install it on my SSD, I think the PC didn't even recognized it. It appears "Total storage: 0.0 MB | Free storage: 0.0 MB"

You'll need to translate the image to english
