Linus Gabriel Sebastian & Linus Media Group / Linus Tech Tips - Narcissistic corporate shill YouTuber driving his media empire into the ground. KILL COUNT: 2

All of that makes it seem like she's taking normal things that happen in offices, unpleasant but within the limits of what's acceptable, and making them out to be beyond the pale. I just don't buy it, sorry.
Anyone who has worked in an office for some time would've come across at least one example of a Madison. They're not even exclusively female, I've seen men act this way and completely fuck up the dynamic of an otherwise functional workplace. Though LMG being run by weirdo manchildren who tolerate a staff member flaunting their degenerate fetish have made an otherwise annoying drama queen into a total PR nightmare as she latches onto controversy and makes it all about her.

I wish Gamers Nexus would fully deconstruct Linus' pathetic corpo drivel and reinvigorate the drama but it seems it's mostly over for now. Considering Linus' acceptance of precisely zero responsibility for what happened to Billet Labs and the lack of any real lessons learned, we're probably about 3 months away from another giant controversy. I'll take a stab in the dark and say it'll center around the labs and pay for play.

GAY Show returns, only 2.5 hours.

First 20 minutes, chat keeps spamming Madison
Luke has made it so Linus can't screenshare from their computers on the Wan Show this week, Luke or Dan has to authorize it on their computers and share it that way, which is :story:

-beginning is talking about their week of introspection, last week it seems Luke and Linus still got together on Friday just to hang out, they would have done it in just an audio form but the Floatplane community only said yes 60/40, that was too low of a yes for them to have a show
-dBrand did send them a box of broken glass
-Linus had his ZFold phone broken by his pool, not because he jumped in with it in his pocket, but his pants got wet as he reached into his pool to get an earpod, the shorts were wet, and while getting ready for a party he walked around with his wet shorts then threw all the wet clothes on a chair outside where it sat in the sun for hours and salt chlorination seeped into his phone, his screen was fogged up. It's not a major issue to him because his phone backs up and it's only a few photos lost.
-they are using a breadcam because something about discord or the LTT forums or reddit making the subforum about breaking bread since it was a week+ of no content and breaking bread is a peace offering or something, some dumb nerd shit.
-16:00 to 33:00 is talk of piracy returning as Disney won't do physical media sales in Australia and talk of the writers strike
-40:00 to 45:00 is talk of an Illinois bill about child youtubers and putting money aside for them since it's labor, surprisingly not much talk about Linus using his kids for videos.
-52:10 Linus spilt muriatic acid in his new car taking it from the warehouse to his home (Porsche Taycan) in the backseat, even though it was apparently in a bag. The floor mat took most of the damage but there is singed fabric that can't be hidden by the floor mat.
-58:00 to 1:10:00 is talking about Monopoly game strategy
-1:41:00 is some talk about something Linus said some time earlier about a game-off with that faggot streamer Ludwig, something gay probably, don't care

Really not a lot of stuff about their clean-up week, just generic tech nerd stuff

Her story reads as 100% true to me, especially the unprofessional atmosphere and sexual harassment. Have you watched even a single LTT video? Maybe it’s a woman thing, but take my word for it, they set off constant red flags.
Yeah cutting your own thigh to get extra sick days is crazy, I’m not saying otherwise, but I entirely believe the stress of being overworked and the LMG tech-bro atmosphere drove her to it.
I believe that someone asked her to twerk, but like c'mon.

So is floatplane of any value or is it doomed to irrelevance ? Feels like it’s always still in a limited beta
Its struggling to establish a niche among 'premium' youtube competitors. Nebula and Curiosity Stream (They bundle the two so hard, they might as well be one service) have their niche in long form and documentary style content, and reportedly are in the black, if only marginally. Floatplane meanwhile doesn't really have much of relevance, and their financials are opaque.

The premium video sharing space is still a gamble, hard to say if its truly doomed or not. On one hand, its trying to compete with free, backed by a seemingly endless google wallet to fill the money black hole. And google is very interested in making sure they keep that dominant hand on the space, in case it ever becomes truly profitable in the future. Its a long term loss leader style thing. On the other hand, bottomless money never is, and eventually something has to give - Premium competitors are gambling that the financials give before the speculation does, and that 'free' platforms push more and more monetization, and alienate customers. Censorship to appease advertisers also factors in, a lot of stuff I want to watch can't be talked about on youtube, so I pay to go elsewhere that isn't worried about offending Nestle and losing Ad Spend.

I think Floatplanes real problem is a complete lack of perceived market niche. I have no idea half of what they actually serve, and I have no idea what they might have based on the name, and there's exceedingly little marketing. Meanwhile, feels like every other long form content I watch has a Nebula or Curiosity stream sponsor, which makes sense when I'm 110% the target audience for that shit. Floatplane does a terrible job of selling itself.

Decided to actually take a look at floatplane, firstly you can't actually see what's there without having an account, which is already a yellow flag because what if you heard someone you like is on it but you don't want to commit to making an account anyway

Made an account to see, a few creators

List isn't terrible so I thought, hey surely they have at least a few video's you can watch to see if the quality is at all okay, there are no free videos. So I don't quite understand the niche, I'm guessing its meant to be a patreon alternative, but Patreon already established itself as the defacto donation place years ago so I'm guessing that most of these users were encouraged to join by a payout from LTT/Floatplane and are just coasting on having that

Ties into what I figured. It specifically seemed odd to me when floatplane was heading under way that they seemed to be so picky and limited with channels they would get on board. It seemed they were going for techy channels but then.. whats the purpose? it also seemed they were discussing "packages" of a sort where you would pay for a handful of channels kind of like cable subscriptions.

I think when it was initally announced i thought it would be a bit more of a general video hosting site ALA rumble or bitchute, but with a premium service attached.

I'm pretty sure most (if not all) of these channels put some of their content out elsewhere as well.

For instance, The Trash Network = DankPods. The only Floatplane exclusive stuff he does is the drum stream. The rest of his stuff is on YouTube.

Unless you're a superfan of a Floatplane creator and you don't violently object to giving Linus your shekels, why would you bother with Floatplane?

Yeah work in a corporate setting long enough and you will develop a sixth sense that screams "this person is trouble, avoid at all costs" when you come across them.

Salute for your sacrifice. Hope you're at least skipping segments of verbal diarrhea. I don't know how you have the stamina.

52:10 Linus spilled Muriatic acid he was stealing from himself in his car because of the dropsies.

I don't know if that's fucking retarded or a magnificent illustration of the problem in a nutshell.

I fucking hate nebulosity stream. Rather than be enticed, they seem to be going "No youtube peasants, you must pay for the content we just teased."

I won't. And neither should you.

It's what I listen to when mowing the yard and doing landscaping. I admit I can't listen to the show anymore on more mentally intensive things like some woodwork or renovation projects because the constant rubbing in your face of his rather undeserved money (that at this point Linus doesn't even realize he does) just puts me in a bad mood.

At one point in the show I should mention they said a LTT car channel will be coming, he just doesn't know when. It's what the Alex guy wants to do and is really enthusiastic about it, but this was another instance of being unable to read the room, you dumb leaf.

I'm baffled at the posters here seriously considering the words of a BPD foid that self-mutilates. I know you drooling retards will latch on to anything to validate your hatred of Linus but really? Come on now.
I wouldn't say I believe her, because I'm sure she's blowing shit out of proportion. But where there is a semblance of belief, is with her work contract related stuff; not the OMG HE HIRED ME WITHOUT MY CONSENT stuff, but the she can/cannot monetize her outside work, and other shit. There was an employee in their lab, who was working for Linus for like 6 months and didn't get paid because of paperwork fuckery. It wouldn't surprise me if Linus (or Yvonne, or whoever) said one thing, then put something different in writing; not a 1:1 believe her word, but not placing all that under the bus of BPD femoid.

She aint got no ass doe
Give a girl a White Claw and she'll try really hard.

I'm not a marketing guru or anything. But if you're gonna account and paywall your entire platform, you need some sort of bait. YouTube has that channel feature thing where a user can put an introductory video up saying who they are and what they do and what-not, which is fine for YouTube. But for something this controlled, you should have a creators can do a free video or two to give an example of how their stuff goes. The only thing I recognize on there is Forgotten Weapons so I know what he does; but if I didn't, well, for all I know he's into medieval weaponry, because those things are so forgotten they're not even used anymore.

The 'intent' seems to be that the creator steers YouTube traffic onto the platform, like how Curiosity Stream has been pretty aggressive lately with creators doing a video on YouTube, and ending it with a deep dive tease on the topic exclusive to the platform if you sign up. Floatplane doesn't expect you to sign up unless you already know you want to be there - a terrible onboarding experience.

The problem is that most of these creators are fairly irrelevant and unrelated, and the handful that are, mostly use it as a tip jar/alternative. Guntubers went for it and the utreon because of platforms like patreon and youtube deciding that guns bad so they want you off the platform. The fact that Ian went through the hassle of following Utreon as well says all you need to know about floatplane traffic, if you know what Ian's like.

I finally got around to watching their video.

>To everyone who wanted to see us fail
Deal with it!
The correct response should have been something along the lines of "I see why you are upset, but we are willing to prove that the changes we will implement will address all your concerns and we hope you forgive us." Most hard a-logs I've seen were previous fans who felt betrayed.

Oh look, this guy who despite agreeing that Dream (Clayton Ray Huff) cheated, still had a fence post up his butt is here making a grand statement.

Faggot.

>Did not address Billet Labs
>Claims made by a female ex-employee ignored
Though for the last one, if they did bring in an external auditor, the silence could be due to an on-going investigation. X though, big one.

>Better than average pay and benefits
>Team building exercises
It could be just me, but for a channel like this, I would assume the pay is better than average. So called "team building" is usually stupid. I tend to stay away from so called "family culture" companies because that just means unpaid work. During weekends and after work, I want to be home cooking for my family or doing personal things. The last thing I want to see is one of these faggots again. There's also no mention of working from home, office pods are for cockroachs.

>Bullying our team members
Anthony Young will never be a woman. Deal with it.
Byuu is still alive, fuck yourself.

>Turnover rates
Being lower than average is brag worthy? Really? Turnover rate is a stupid statistic because companies like fast food and retail chains and shoved in with highly specific fields. Averaging that is retarded. It also fails to account for transfers. If I transfer to the Asia division of my company, it's considered "leave my job and being hired again".

Overall, B. Could have been worse.
