I disagree. I think he’s a stepped down version of an autistic savant who has middling skills at writing and sci-fi, but beneath average skills in everything else.

While it’s true that you can have a high IQ and a low GPA, that’s usually due to either learning disabilities (ADHD, Autism) or cultural issues (an unsuccessful family punishing a successful child). As far as I’m aware, Pat has never claimed to have a learning disability or a bad home life.

Outside of an academic environment, I think the biggest predictor of IQ is success. I mean, I think it’s the other way around - IQ is designed to be a predictor of success. So by looking at one’s success you can predict their IQ.

I don’t think anyone would argue that Pat is successful by any metrics. He’s an author who has published mediocre books which have had poor sales, he fails in regular routine tasks (like building a fence), and he’s one of the most mocked people online of all time. Hell, the last one could be a positive if he could monetize it like Chris Chan or Nicocado, but he has failed utterly to do this.

He also completely fails to be able to understand things which he has a vested interest in understanding. Like his legal brief reads like it was written by a literal child who has no understanding of the law or court procedures. He has been engrossed in the legal system for years at this point. He has valid claims and avenues for relief. But he completely fails to present anything close to a coherent argument. In no universe did his final brief have a chance to help him or do anything but embarrassing him… but he still insisted on submitting it and making it public record.

Doesn’t that 1.7 include his gym scores? I may be misremembering but I thought if you took out gym his GPA was 1.2… Correct me if I’m wrong, but if I’m right, shouldn’t gym scores be excluded, or do they actually correlate with IQ?

His non-Phys Ed adjusted GPA is 1.66. A perfect C-, the absolute bare minimum, down to a 1/100 of a point, to graduate HS in Wisconsin at that time.

Here is from my previous post where I did a sub-analysis of his grades:

His science GPA was 1.168, almost exactly between a D and a D+

His English GPA was 2.001, essentially a perfectly flat C.

A flat "C" is considered the absolute minimum for "average" comprehension of a subject. The "Average" American is a wonderful standard to use as a benchmark...

So, at best, his overall comprehension of high school subjects was slightly below that of an average American graduating high school in 1998 at an overall C-. In most jurisdictions in the US a C- is the absolute minimum grade required to graduate.

His overall comprehension of science would be considered solidly below average compared to the average American at an overall science GPA of 1.168 (D/D+).

His comprehension of English would be considered average compared to the average American at an overall English GPA of 2.001 (C).

I would advise anyone to dismiss absolutely anything he has to say about any subject in science without an actual citation from a reputable source, with that source evaluated to determine if it indeed says what he thinks it says. His understanding of science, as shown by his HS transcript, is rather pathetic, even compared to the "Average" American, which is a sad standard to start with.
