The Sims 4

Yeah but if you’re a brainlet that can’t figure out how to torrent anything or mount an iso the AIO download is great because it’s literally just a zip file with the installer + instructions in it. That’s why the sims 2 modders on Tumblr recommend it all the time so they don’t have to deal with people going “what is torrent???? will it run on my Chromebook????”
Then you bully normies into learning valuable technical skills. It's not that hard, it all boils down to this:

1) install free program
2) do a simple thing in free program that you can explain visually
3) you're done

For example, installing and using qBitTorrent is simple. You install it, you double click a .torrent file or click a magnet link and click OK, you wait for a while, and you've downloaded the game.
If the downloaded file is something like .rar or .7z, Windows 11 has native support for it. If not, 7-zip is free and works perfectly.
If it's an ISO, Windows 10 and 11 have native support for mounting it. If it's something like MDF, WinCDEmu is still available and works just fine despite the last version being from 2015.

You should motivate normies to take the absolute minimum of effort to get their game. They get intimidated by files like .torrent, .rar and .mdf? Either overcome this fear or you won't get your free game.

And it's not that hard, they're gonna need admin privileges to install the goddamn game anyway, so you're definitely gonna be able to install a torrent client, archive manager and a virtual disk drive driver.

Again: bully normies into learning things. Don't try to adhere to their needs of everything being readily accessible with a single click and encourage them to learn new things. And what you'll be teaching them is very simple so you can go very easy on them, step by step, in a way where they'll understand it and will be able to get their dollhouse game.

Also, if the normie that's trying to get the free Sims game already has experience in adding custom content to the game, they have zero excuses to not learn this basic stuff. They already know how file systems work, and how file archives work, so learning how to use a BitTorrent client or how to deal with disk images will be easy for them to learn.

The next TS4 Stuff Pack will be Home Chef Hustle, which features things that probably would have been in other SPs/EPs, i.e. Dine Out, if it were not TS4:

lmao not even a week after them mentioning Stuff Packs will be back again
incredible

Every time I see this thread get bumped, the first thing that pops into my mind is "Oh God, what Current Year degeneracy are they inserting into this "Family Friendly" game?" Between trannies, neo-pronouns, and moob-feeding, the only way this game could get more child-predatory is if they outright allowed adult Sims to date children, which may have been a bug at some point in this game's history.

Also, apologies if this seems off-topic, but I recall some time before the outage that someone asked if anyone was playing the older titles, and I think that comment may have been lost. Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I've certainly rejected modernity and returned to tradition, as I still regularly play The Sims 1 to this very day.

someone asked if anyone was playing the older titles
oh, yeah, I asked about it since someone asked who even plays the Sims anymore.
Also because I wanted to find fellow 3 players. I tried 2 but it wouldn't install properly and at around the same time I figured out a fix for 3 (I forgot to delete one of the broken registries in a third place as opposed to the first two I checked).

I have 1 and 2 installed on my current PC. I had a pirated copy of 3 with several expansions and mods installed on my previous PC, but I can't seem to get a working install on my new PC for that game. A bummer, since there are elements of 3 that I like, but it's hardly my favorite of the bunch. I'm the kind of control freak who wants to personally curate my neighborhood and swap between families at a whim, and 3 is aggressively against that type of play.

Oh well. It's not like sticking with 1 is limiting my creativity any. I've learned how to make custom textures and how to mix-and-match models I've found online to make new characters, so I've got plenty of characters in my neighborhood you probably would never have thought of playing as. I've mentioned as much previously on this very website. (1 2)

The Sims 4 has turned 9 years old yesterday, and will probably turn 10, before whatever Project Rene is supposed to be, gets released.

According to the Developers. The Sims 4 will continue to be developed for, while Project Rene is looking to be an always online multiplayer microtransaction model.

I'm a Sims 3 player. It needs mods to run at anything above potato performance but the expansions are the best. My sims always traveled the world and culturally appropriated the natives.
I need to redownload it and rejigger it on my new rig, but I'm so lazy I don't feel like doing all the technowizardy required. But everytime I look at Sims 4 and how souless it is the temptation grows.

I'm seriously considering keeping my laptop that has my modded and configured Sims 3 and 4 installs on it when I upgrade the gaming rig. Just because it's such a fuss to redo them.

According to the article, “Your Sim can now own and manage multiple Residential Rental lots or move into a home where they’re closer to their neighbors than ever (perfect for snooping!)".
If the pack lets you build your own apartment buildings, that will be interesting.
