Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

I played the game through the rose tinted glasses of the Edgerunners anime and now when I go to replay it with the latest update, I just can't get into it. Jackie's voice acting is still great though.

With Phantom Liberty up on pirate sites I tried to start a new game but, yeah, I can't play for more than thirty minutes without losing all interest and stopping. Updates will likely continue to break mods, so maybe I'll just wait until they finally stop patching the game to attempt a replay.

I wish. Instead we're getting sarcastic morons who think there's an ongoing soda machine conspiracy against them.

I'm not gonna being spoilered more than the normal in this thread.
Only one question: the fucking dlc ending give you free roam the city?
The OG secret ending is still the most based one.

I think the level scaling is good. 2077 suffered tonally and narratively from being a looter shooter, so minimizing those systems by making you do less looting is a plus. The downside is that now I can't find anything to spend my money on.

Also scaling enemy strength doesn't break the aesthetics since you steadily gain many more abilities and powers which naturally puts you ahead of them regardless of what the stats say. It doesn't matter if the same guys I fought at level 3 now have greatly inflated health pools and damage output at level 20; I can instakill them at half health and have crit modifiers on top of headshot multipliers. The scaling just means that they can pose a credible threat if I don't use my new abilities well.
The problem is they also added Skill scaling, which is stupid as fuck. Now that skills checks level up with you, you can screw yourself out of outcomes/some missions if you don't hit them earlier. I really don't understand why they did this but its shit.
Edit: There are things that ignore the skill scaling, like main story missions that have low skills scaling for "Effect". Like a gate you have to lift up or other such things, they are set...thankfully.

It gets pretty silly when an abandoned corner shop's door is harder to hack through than the American headquarters of a high tech megacorporation.
Worse, is the weapon rewards scaling with level. Get a reward at lvl35 and it costs you 14 blue guns worth of parts and 6 red guns worth of parts to upgrade to the reward you'd get at lvl36.

I don't really find Claire the troon that annoying. It doesn't break immersion to have an engineer rethinking their life and becoming a monster truck mechanic/troon. The character isn't defined by their transness. They are far from a marty/mary sue.

Level scaling has always been retarded, and will always be retarded. You go to the slums and mug an emaciated crack fiend, but since you're now wearing high end raid doom XxSniper_GodxX gear the crackhead has become a [MENACING] Master level crackfriend. A Master in the art of smoking crack, and holding people up with a piece of broken pipe. It's just a lazy way of avoiding creating properly scaled areas and directing you to them where appropriate.

properly scaled areas where the crack fiend explodes just by looking at it funny?

I'm not troll-baiting here, but... I see every ethnic spread through Cyberpunk, are there any Jewish characters? Or in this setting, would it be impossible without being accused of presenting antisemitic stereotypes?

I was talking about it the other day with a friend and came to the conclusion that there are no Jewish megacorporations only because every megacorporation is Jewish.

Overclock seems weird to rely on health instead of stamina, considering the whole "shooting uses stamina thing". Also now having Netrunners having the same Body rating as the Animals just feels....off, extremely off.

Body is just kind of a weird stat, it's strength, constitution, military knowledge, intimidation, and firing machine guns and shotguns and hitting people with blunt things. Less weird then a lot of the skills though.

Guess what stealth takedowns are. Shinobi? No, idiot that's shooting submachine guns and assault rifles and cutting people with katana. No it's headhunting, the same skill as shooting people in the head with rifles.

I've had the game since day one. Even bought an Xbox Series X and 4k TV so I could fully enjoy the graphics. I know a lot of people had issues with the game early on across all platforms, but that wasn't my experience. Aside from a few graphical glitches, like items floating in midair, and one or two crashes before they starting fixing the game, my experience has been completely positive.

Call me whatever you want, I don't give a shit. I love the game and have since day one. CDPR botched the release. That's a fact. But they have stuck with the game when other developers would have cut their losses and run. Now the game is in an excellent state, and I personally feel it's a far better game than the vast majority of games that are released these days.

Which childhood hero did you pick at the beginning? Johnny Silverhand, Morgan Blackhand, or Saburo Arasaka?

Which key life event did you go with? Death of a sibling, ran away from home, or first big kill?

Why Night City? Unfinished business, ex-lover in town, or something to prove?

Which of the multiple free DLCs was your favorite?

What's your opinion of the multiplayer mode?

Do you think you would have had the same experience if you played it on the actual consoles it was released for, PS4 and XBone?

Do you think PS4 and XBone owners are enjoying the Phantom Liberty DLC?

You know I'm starting to have buyers remorse pirating the game. It's 156 GBs worth of files to install a 100+ GB game and there is absolutely nothing to do in it holy shit.
I have it pirated with the DLC and its only 78gb
