Feminism discussion thread

What we have with fourth wave cheapens us. The over sexualised nature of it cheapens us and damages men. It damages our kids and it damages society. It alienates men from women.
When debasement and debauchery is considered not only female empowerment, but demanded of your female children there should be no surprise of a backlash.
Like it or not, the question "What is a woman?" is currently being debated in courts.
The fact that its being debated at all is farcical, and don't be surprised when men in dresses hijack female roles.

They all call themselves Feminism, though. How can we tell which ones were being asked to agree with? Why are Feminists not cleaning house and throwing out anyone who can't define woman? Why do I have to memorize their denominational splits? You are all Feminists for no reason other than you all call yourselves that.
only someone cripplingly autistic assumes that movements don't have offshoots and fractures, while still having the same overarching beliefs. it's an inevitability with a lot of large movements, religion of course being an example, but it's not the only example. ultimately, women want to be treated like human beings.
Which versions are the "good" ones? I need to know in case a Feminist of the "bad" type tries to correct me.
i wouldn't use the word "bad" as much as i'd use the words "misguided and wrong", like feminists that accept trannies.

I can’t call myself a feminist because of this fact alone. It’s religion basically.
It's a very unstable grouping for numerous reasons. There's a ton of baggage attached to the term, the idea of "equality between the sexes" is so vague as to be meaningless, and that belief which is often put forth as the sole value that one needs hold to qualify as a feminist is far from the only belief that the vast majority of feminists espouse. If I were to declare myself a feminist on that basis, my view on abortion among other beliefs would lead most feminists to disavow me. It seems to speak more to a mindset than an actual set of solid beliefs.

Ultimately I think feminism has failed as a liberating force for women. While there are some positive developments that have been outlined in this thread like outlawing marital rape, I don't think encouraging women to join the workforce and pursue positions of leadership has been a fruitful endeavor. I think it introduces, or at least exacerbates, the drop in fertility that many developed countries are facing. And are women happier? It doesn't seem like it. Between men and women, I think there is a brighter future we would all like to see, which is why it's important, rather than blaming each other for the reason we're not there yet (Incels and Man-haters alike) is counterproductive and dumb. Instead, we need to come to some mutual understanding about the different roles men and women must play in creating that future.

The definition of woman has come into question, so why should I assume Feminism A is equal to Feminism 2.
it's an inevitability with a lot of large movements, religion of course being an example, but it's not the only example.
Hence the need for labels and clear terminology. Tell me dear, are you a good witch or a bad witch. And its not my job to play twenty questions figuring out your stances on various issues. Its Feminism's job to clearly declare their terms and state what they mean. Including to which denomination of Feminism they belong.
ultimately, women want to be treated like human beings.
Egalitarianism describes that just as well as Feminism. You'll have to be more specific. Feminism isn't the only movement that seeks to treat women like human beings.

Okay so switch out bad for "misguided and wrong" and answer the question. Very respectable people believe Caitlin Jenner is also a woman, so you still need to specify which Feminisms are good and which are "misguided and wrong". I need to know so I can spread only accurate Feminist teaching when I encounter the misguided and wrong Feminists.

One more point of clarification for those who are confused:

3rd wave (currently predominant in the West) --> Trannies, casual sex, porn/prostitution, BDSM. Also known as "choice feminism" since it has a bit of a wishy-washy "do whatever you want" outlook in most regards, without much analysis into which "choices" actually benefit the lives of women individually or as a class.

4th wave (slightly newer but MUCH rarer, which is important to remember) --> Anti-trans (i.e. understanding that troons are just men), anti-porn, anti-casual sex.

If these two things seem like the opposite of each other: yes, they are. So there is no reason to conflate them.

The definition of woman has come into question, so why should I assume Feminism A is equal to Feminism 2.
this is retarded and you're retarded.

feminism: women wanting to be treated equally. that's it.
Egalitarianism describes that just as well as Feminism. You'll have to be more specific. Feminism isn't the only movement that seeks to treat women like human beings.
nah, egalitarianism is just a way for moids to have their cake and eat it too.

once again, they're all still feminists. they all have the overarching belief that women should be treated equally. i can still disagree with their stance on trannies, but still agree with their feminist views. nuance must be difficult for someone like you, huh.

I used to hate third wave feminism because its frankly retarded. However in light of the rise of Transgenderism, I kinda feel like a second, second wave is sorely needed.

I am curious though, for the Feminists here, would you want to keep using the name "Feminism" knowing how much the LGBTQ+ and Trans community have poisoned the well, or would you be more in favor of rebranding but keeping the same principals?

If these two things seem like the opposite of each other: yes, they are. So there is no reason to conflate them.
Except they both call themselves Feminism without specifying which wave they are. Its been decades. Conservative women call themselves Feminists.
feminism: women wanting to be treated equally. that's it.
That "equally" is liberally defined. Everything Feminism brings up is potentially an issue of equality, even when its bullshit like air conditioner settings in the office.

Thinking men can be women and can experience misogyny is anti-Feminist. You should cast them out of the word Feminism for saying men can become women. It's not my problem you won't defend the integrity of the word Feminism or the word woman. If you want to be understood and supported by outsiders to your movement, you need to clearly define terms. If you demolish women's sport for trannies by voting blue just because the blue guy claimed to support abortion, its not your sterling integrity, you were tricked.
nuance must be difficult for someone like you, huh
Ketanji Brown Jackson refused to define the word woman. Nuance is not my problem.

1. Two baristas, one male one female, equal in skill. The female says to the male please lift this heavy box. She's incapable of the same work as him, and their pay should reflect that.
I just posted a picture to your page of two heavy ass boxes of food donations I carried unassisted to my car. If you want to dispute the heaviness of the box I can take a video for you :)
I think the only way would be to stun men with a campaign of violence and terror so indiscriminate and genocidal that they give up their expectations of continued patriarchal oppression and count themselves lucky to get offered equality.
I had hoped peace would be an option... but my hope is waning. The future is feminist.

In regards to terminology--I think that the purpose is somewhat served by giving each denomination/sect/form of feminism its own name. For instance, you have "liberal feminism" on one hand and "radical feminism" on the other. Those two things call two different movements to mind, and a person who identifies themselves with one term would never use the other even by mistake.

In general, rebranding tends to be a bit tricky since it's not something you can force; it's something that has to catch on over time. I've heard alternatives to the term feminist get thrown around, such as "womanist", but I wouldn't expect any of them to gain widespread popularity. Sticking with the old tern, regardless of its shifting connotation, is probably the best way to prevent a "What's that?" sort of reaction.

Yet another moid here to mansplain how feminism failed us girls. :slowclap:

Hmm, so it looks like you can be civil under threat of being threadbanned.

give me some examples that aren't retarded clickbait articles.

women wanting to be treated equally sure does upset you, huh. it's a valid point, though, a feminist supporting trannies is a contradiction, hence why they're misguided and wrong. even so, i think that the intent is still there. they're still seeking equal rights for women, but have unfortunately gotten sucked into retarded identity politics which, unbeknownst to them, harms feminism as a whole.

are you incapable of defining a woman yourself?

give me some examples that aren't retarded clickbait articles.
People who call themselves Feminists have said retarded bullshit is sexism for decades. Who am I to say their concerns are not Feminism? Or that the concerned women are not Feminists? I'm just a moid after all, right

You're not helping me see which Feminisms are okay. You keep not answering my direct and simple question.
are you incapable of defining a woman yourself?
I'm incapable of knowing what someone means by the word woman unless they're clear with their terms.

It may be childish, but a large barrier for the entry of men into feminism is the emasculating connotations of the label, even without the baggage it carries due to the culture surrounding it. I think the core tenets of 4th wave feminism you laid out are all values worth defending and not just for the sake of creating a safer, more accommodating culture for women. Everyone seeks to benefit from pushing back against these things as they're actively mutilating our culture and complicating the future for our children.

Feminists have said retarded bullshit is sexism for decades. I don't need to look up anything. Feminism needs to clean out people who think men can be women.
"i have no examples." also it's rich that you, a moid, is telling feminists what they should and should not do. sit down, scrote.
You're not helping me see which Feminisms are okay. You keep not answering my direct and simple question.
not my fault you're incapable of extrapolating meaning from my posts.
I'm incapable of knowing what someone means by the word woman unless they're clear with their terms.
literal actual grade-a autism

edit:
It may be childish, but a large barrier for the entry of men into feminism is the emasculating connotations of the label
nigger, it's not meant for you

"i have no examples." also it's rich that you, a moid, is telling feminists what they should and should not do. sit down, scrote.
So there is no way to know what is legitimate Feminism?
not my fault you're incapable of extrapolating meaning from my posts.
And you don't know the answer either.
literal actual grade-a autism
Remember when you see womens sport dismantled that its the leaders Feminism endorsed.

So there is no way to know what is legitimate Feminism?
this is a retarded question. a woman who believes in equal rights for all women is a feminist. that's legitimate feminism.
And you don't know the answer either.
nah, you're just really dumb.
Remember when you see womens sport dismantled that its the leaders Feminism endorsed.
there it issssss. "it's women's fault trannies (MEN) forced their way into women's sports."
