It's a very unstable grouping for numerous reasons. There's a ton of baggage attached to the term, the idea of "equality between the sexes" is so vague as to be meaningless, and that belief which is often put forth as the sole value that one needs hold to qualify as a feminist is far from the only belief that the vast majority of feminists espouse. If I were to declare myself a feminist on that basis, my view on abortion among other beliefs would lead most feminists to disavow me. It seems to speak more to a mindset than an actual set of solid beliefs.
Ultimately I think feminism has failed as a liberating force for women. While there are some positive developments that have been outlined in this thread like outlawing marital rape, I don't think encouraging women to join the workforce and pursue positions of leadership has been a fruitful endeavor. I think it introduces, or at least exacerbates, the drop in fertility that many developed countries are facing. And are women happier?
It doesn't seem like it. Between men and women, I think there is a brighter future we would all like to see, which is why it's important, rather than blaming each other for the reason we're not there yet (Incels and Man-haters alike) is counterproductive and dumb. Instead, we need to come to some mutual understanding about the different roles men and women must play in creating that future.
