It's nowhere near October, but one ensemble is already on track to be named the most controversial Halloween costume of 2015.

Social media users were out in full force on Monday criticizing several Halloween retailers for offering a Caitlyn Jenner costume reminiscent of the former-athlete's Vanity Fair cover earlier this year.

While Jenner's supporters condemned the costume as "transphobic" and "disgusting" on Twitter, Spirit Halloween, a retailer that carries the costume, defended the getup.

"At Spirit Halloween, we create a wide range of costumes that are often based upon celebrities, public figures, heroes and superheroes," said Lisa Barr, senior director of marking at Spirit Halloween. "We feel that Caitlyn Jenner is all of the above and that she should be celebrated. The Caitlyn Jenner costume reflects just that."

Bored Ape Yacht Club held a conference called ApeFest from Nov. 3-5 where unprotected exposure to UV lighting was used during a laser show that resulted in several attendees experienced severe eye pain and loss of vision.


I think it'd be a funny thread, but I can't access the archive site for some reason so I'll just post it here for now.

In the 1970s you got to smoke weed while you lost your eyesight to laser light shows, not pretend you were doing something economically viable.

Blind dog rescued from frigid pond in New York park



A blind dog was rescued from the freezing waters of a New York pond by a pair of city police officers.

The New York Police Department said Officers Branden Williams and Marc Esposito responded to a 911 call about a dog in danger of drowning in the pond in Queens' Baisley Pond Park.


The officers arrived to find the senior border collie, named Sparky, was stuck among some reeds.

Body camera footage from the rescue shows the officers wading out into the water to carry Sparky to safety.

"Both officers entered the pond and were able to remove the dog from the pond who was later removed to a local veterinarian where he was later reunited with his owner," an NYPD spokesperson told Newsweek.

Iceland is bracing for another volcanic erupuption. This time it appears to be threatening the town of Grindavik, a power plant, and the Blue Lagoon. Large earthquakes happening and it could be hours until it erupts.

Director of Civil Protection Víðir Reynisson Is delivering a live television update at the time of writing and has announced the mandatory evacuation of the town of Grindavík to happen tonight.

He stresses that residents must leave town in the next two to three hours.

So there's a super volcano threatening to erupt in Italy, and one in Iceland, one off the coast of Japan, and mount St. Helen's is getting spicy. Noticed it on TikTok going to google it tomorrow
