That led people to suggest (correctly, I think) that the scene (which really wasn't all that graphic) was there mainly to justify that large quantity of goblin slaying that followed. To establish their complete moral reprehensibility. The scene wasn't wank material. The other 11 episodes had a lot of dark fantasy violence, but not much, if anything, in the way of sex as I recall.

We're probably getting way off topic here. My earlier point is there is some controversial anime with redeeming characteristics, like Goblin Slayer. Redo of Healer is just dogshit. Nick isn't being edgy for liking it. He's just being stupid.

When I think of gratuitous nudity and violence I generally think Elfen Lied.

The point was to show the goblins are fucking evil. You can't redeem them. It wasn't fan service. Sword Maiden is fan service. People getting raped aren't. GS is very consistent when it's doing fan service and when it's not.

There isn't much I think is out of bounds when it comes to comedy. If I did, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be hanging out in here. I wouldn't have made such a joke myself, but we've told tasteless jokes about disability and kids ever since I was a kid. One that immediately springs to mind:

Rekieta's joke would appear to be an attempt at making a joke in the same vein, but it's shit. (No pun intended.) It's shit because it isn't funny and it makes no sense. Children don't have fetishes. They certainly don't have diaper fetishes. Those are limited to men of Nick's age. So it's not funny because of the shock value -- there is no shock value. It's just stupid. Jokes have to resonate in order to work. They have to refer to something that we recognize in the real world. This was just another excuse for Nick to bring up his favourite subject -- depraved cooming.

Sadly, now that somebody's let him do some stand-up, he thinks he's a comedian, so he clearly feels obliged to make with the jokes. This is obviously one that had occurred to him earlier, and he was just DYING to use it as soon as he got the opportunity.

I think Nick originally had even bigger plans that involved Vic pouring cement on his Vic's own feet as well. But Vic refused to play along. I always got the impression that Nick really wanted in a bad way for Vic to go real hard after the other side in public on Nick's streams and also talk about the case on Nick's streams in all the ways that someone involved in litigation isn't supposed to do.

I think that what stopped Nick from wishing full death on Vic was Vic putting limits on what he would do online on Nick's streams.

And Beyond just being upset about money & views, Nick's drunken upset about Vic not hanging out with him really seemed - at least to me - kinda gay.

Agree that this was a line crossed. Also agree with @Doctor John B. Zyklon as to the reason why Nick likely said it, but this is one of those things where the motivations don’t matter. Saying literally almost anything else in the moment would have been better.

Was half listening at work so can’t recall it exactly but Nick said he couldn’t help it, acknowledged something was wrong with his mind & said maybe he should take ketamine treatments because it would be very funny. That was said after Kurt was talking about getting treated with ketamine for depression & it was very much not funny for him.
