I find that this is a common thing with people who do a show multiple days a week.

both, although its just that its hard to have new stories thats why you really need a theme or something to talk about. Dick Masterson was able to go roughly 5 years being a 2 hr a week show just discussing his antics before we all turned on him but in general unless you're discussing something outside of yourself and the shit you do you will run out of stuff to talk about super fast. even Shane Gillis who's a de facto a-lister somehow runs out of crazy stories despite being a comedian touring all over the country and meeting every online person ever. also its a personal thing, i'm sure there are plenty of idiots who enjoy listener to stern not to do shit but watch crappy tv shows every year for the last 40 years.

the problem is Nick truely thought people were there for him and not his content. its a semi-common thing. when tv stars leave a hit show for a movie career they're doing a similar thing on a much larger scale. not realizing that people only liked them in a given role. Hell Ethan Ralph sort of did a similar thing, he thought people watched the killstream for him vs the actual content and thats why he decided to become Dick-lite to his own detriment. a much smaller percentage of the population truely will listen to whatever a person says a la a "friend Simulator" and even then the reason that shit succeeds is because its still in line with the persona. If Nick abandoned the law stuff but still was like the good old christian father of 5 kids people wanted shout outs from he'd probably have most of his audience still, or at least more of it.

The funniest part for me is that honestly the alcoholism really didn't play a part in his thread turning into the most active one on the site. If this Eric July shit happened even as far back as 2020 Nick would have done the same shit and that would have still led to something at least resembling that 7 hour rant about being a white nigga. the drinking just means his outbursts are more noticeable but he always had drunk streams.
