Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

Yeah off hand I can’t think of any - there were a few exclusives, but the only Trade Evo’s were older Pokemon in both Base Game and DLC.

Here’s hoping that whoever’s in charge now at Game Freak has realized that it’s a retarded fucking gimmick and scrapped it going forward. With Masuda gone, Gen 10 could go either way - unless it blows things out of the water though, I’m probably not going to be interested.
The ironic part is that evolution via trading would be easier now than it was back in the day. Can even hop onto a forum and trade that way if you're willing to trust someone enough. Still glad it seems to be fading out, and they even made it possible to catch the evolved form of these evolution Pokémon to get around the issue.

Area Zero in Union Circle not showing the other player or spawning their version mons in unless they spawn them is whack.

Really they should have just made it so the version of Area Zero or the gake in general matched the version of the host.

So in the Coach rematches they fixed Geeta team order.

And considering the DLC was planned from the start…

…I think they really misjudged by having her obviously hold back against you and knowing it was going to by like that for an entire year.

You're giving them too much credit. They probably just thought that only the hardcore fans would give a shit about decent team comp and threw it behind a paywall to give the DLC another selling point.

Oh that absolutely what they did and why as in sold it as DLC. And they aten’t wrong, only hardcore fans care about team comp.

I’m just saying they miscalculated hard by doing so.

I don't see how they did. This way they not only get more money for a basic feature, but they also get lip service from idiot youtubers claiming shit like "THEY FIXED GEETA?!" and even further devotion from bootlickers for "fixing" things that they broke in the first place.

So it turns out that Transponder is not available as of right now. I got my bank on my alt 3DS working, but it just brings me to the dead 3DS shop page when I want to download the Transponder. That means that only my original 3DS has both the Transponder and Dream Catcher on it. Shame, I consider all three apps integral to playing Gen 5-7 games on the 3DS, it's depressing to think the new players will not get the same experience we did. Once the console breaks or is otherwise inoperable, it's going to be a barrel of fun to get it repaired or to get the content transferred on another console. It's not like these things are infamous for their crappy plastic hinges breaking all the time!

Since it's the season of giving, and I have access to them, I decided to go back to my copy of Pokemon Blue Virtual Console to get a bunch of OG Pokemon and wonder trade it to some lucky Gen 7 players once transferred. I had the Old Man/Missingno glitch set up already, so all I had to do was catch a bunch of Pokemon from the coast line using my infinite Master Balls. What Pokemon you get is determined by your last location and your name, I got a whole bunch of lv 100 Cleafable(with each having perfect HP, Speed, SpD and SpA almost all the time), Fearows, Dittos and Sandslash. Keep in mind that each Pokemon transferred from VC games not only has a unique Game Boy mark, but it also has at least 3 guaranteed perfect IVs and a hidden ability. The Cleafable one was a great gift to the other players, it's extremely easy to get and it's more or less the best non-legendary Fairy type in the game ready to battle once you give it some decent moves. Hell, you can even transfer them over to Gen 8 or 9 if you wish, makes it all the worse that VC games and Transponder/Bank are now lost media.
I used the Missingno glitch to not only get infinite Master Balls but also fossils, Old Amber and Helix in this case. I am currently giving away Aerodactyls but I am also planning to do the same with Omanytes. The latter I can confirm I use on regular bases for my own competitive purposes, Weak Armor complements Omastar really well and most people think you're running the Swift Swim set so they underestimate you

I watched that yesterday, too. Funny enough, this is actually really good competitively: Gengar has high speed and access to Skill Swap. This means that this set is not unlike the Trick set, just with an ability rather than an item. I can see it being really good in doubles, or even triples/rotation battles if transferred to Gen 5(which has no checks for illegal Pokemon unlike the Bank), so I think I will gen myself a NIGGER as well. Being able to give Truant to other Pokemon is an underrated strategy, one only usable with the likes of Slaking and Alakazam in double battles, which is obviously very niche and un-reliable. A Truant Pokemon that can transfer this ability to someone else by itself and on the first turn is unique, and I don't think any Pokemon like that exists currently legitimately.

So, finally got around to clearing Indigo Disk - again, if I’d paid for these DLC’s I’d probably be much more annoyed at them - and my biggest issue that isn’t the technical issues plaguing this game (I’m morbidly curious how much tape is holding this game together at this point) is that the Story just feels incredibly tacked on. Forgive me for rambling on here.

I liked that the Trainer Battles could actually be a Challenge - after steam rolling so much of the game with my Skeledirge, seeing him get 1-Tapped a few times was actually exciting - but it feels like they had the concept for the Terrarium and just taped some scrapped Gyms to it. And oh wait, we need to go back to the Endgame of the Base Game, turns out there’s more down there! I’ll admit that the Environment in the new part of Area Zero has one cool looking set piece, but there’s exactly one reason to ever go back there and it’s the hidden room full of Tera Shards.

Also, fun fact - not only does Kieran have dialogue for you sending out Ogerpon, turns out his AI is programmed specifically to target Ogerpon. Its shit like that that makes me want to have some form of hope that at least SOMEONE at Game Freak gives a shit that they put in details like that.

And finally, because Tera Types are probably being abandoned after this Generation - anyone have thoughts on the Stellar type?

Is the Blueberry Elite Four supposed to be a replacement/apology of the one-time-only Paldean Elite Four?
I liked the school tournament as a rematch event because i liked the random challenger at the end when you do rematches in Sun and Moon, for the added variety, but leaving the e4 out of it was an odd choice (besides the one who's also a teacher).

A few new event codes are now available.

G0TCHAP0KEM0N - 30 Quick Balls
SUPEREFFECT1VE - 1 Expert Beld
WEARTERASTALCAP - a baseball cap with the Terastal logo on it

You can also get 10 copies of TM 223 (containing Metal Sound) if you use the “Check via Internet” option on the Mystery Gift page. This “event” will be active until mid-January when a patch will fix an issue that causes TM 223 to be uncraftable in Scarlet due to one of the required TM materials being found on a Violet-exclusive Pokémon.

I built a specific team for the Indigo Disk since my main story team got too strong after dicking around with the Let’s Go feature but even with that in mind I still found myself losing a Pokémon or two during battles.

And I agree about Area Zero’s Underdepths being pointless once you complete the story segment and the hidden post-story room, it would’ve been nice to have other Pokémon (besides Glimmet, Glimmora, and Carbink) spawn down there with a few of ‘em being catchable wild Stellar Tera Type Pokémon.

It’s a really niche Tera Type that probably won’t see use outside of being seen on Terapagos due to the one-time 1.2 boost and keeping the Pokémon’s original typing as far as defense is concerned. I’ve heard that Rillaboom and Porygon-Z may be good users for it but I’m not too sure.

Honestly about the boat I was in regarding it - it might see some niche use on Pokemon with Contrary, but there's significantly better moves those Pokemon have access to.

It feels like they had a neat idea on paper, but then they made it too balanced.

So replaying XY for Living Dex

…and Lysandre being a dude that invented our main method of communication and is stupidly philanthropic to try and help the world but decides to depopulate the world due to everything he does not being good enough and concern over the world’s lack of resources was a decade before it’s time.

And then he tries to control his weapon with some vr level tech.

So YT had this video stumble into my feed

And they brought up the online features and all I could think was ‘no wonder GF don’t put ‘effort’ in anymore.

The games had so much content that no one ever played or cared about and the only reason they know of it is a YT playthrough years later, long after it is dead.

‘Fans’ keep claiming they want stuff or liked stuff and then never actually use it.

Yeah, it’s been known for years that gen V succumbing to the Zelda Pokémon cycle directly resulted in the state of the games now.
