1. When a true crime YouTuber decides to upload 3 he interrogation footage with their own sparse commentary sprinkled throughout. If I wanted to watch the whole interrogation, I’d watch it without commentary interrupting it in between. It doesn’t help that 90% of interrogation footage isn’t really that interesting 90% of the time because there’s a lot of dead silence.
2. People who need to put in minute long “content warnings”; especially true crime channels. Actual people suffering from PTSD aren’t so limp-wrist that they’ll crumble from hearing the words “rape”, “abuse”, “assault”, “murder” and other words we hear in the real world all the time. This pandering to weak people needs to stop.
3. Anytime there’s a weird, cartoon avatar that pops up with a different voice than the main narrator. There’s one food channel I stumbled upon where this happened, and they chose a chick with the most spergy sounding aussie voice I’ve ever heard. Every time she showed up, I felt my ears being grated.
4. Any video essay talking about a piece of fictional media that devolves into talking about the YouTuber’s own political views. I just wanted to tune out to a video about Sonic SAT AM, not listen to a diatribe about LGBT-ANTIFA “rights” nonsense.
5. Any video that goes over 40 minutes talking about a particular topic is 100% detouring away from the main topic. I’d rather watch a movie at that point, than to waste time watching a video of the same length. There is no reason a video essay should exceed an hour.
6. “Tea channels” which just rehash the news from KiwiFarms or Twitter and take forever to get to the fucking point in a 10 minute video. They spend at least 95% of the video going over Twitter comments, and almost never actually talk about the topic in their thumbnail. Why waste 10 minutes watching some thot read a comment section when I can do that myself in the same amount of time?
7. Any channel ran by a tranny has a 100% chance of being boring with a grating voice. While at the surface their content appears to be about anime and video games, it’s all just thinly veiled vanity projects to talk about being trans. I have yet to see a Trans YouTuber who didn’t go “btw did you know that I’m a tranny” in the middle of their own videos.
8. Straight up pandering to fatties by saying over and over that they’re “valid”; I stopped watching a video about America’s Biggest Loser because the narrator kept doing exactly that while in the same breath talking about the dangers of an eating disorder. News flash: morbidly obese people have an eating disorder as well. Promoting Fat Acceptance is just as bad as promoting Thinso/anything Pro-Ana related.
9. Pseudo-intellectuals trying to paint movies/films as pieces of media that either “tried to warn you” or “what it is saying about society” while completely missing the point.
10. Content that just straight up plagiarizes KiwiFarms without giving us credit. It’s absolutely annoying that we’re never credited by these drama channels who want to benefit from our fruit of knowledge without giving thanks!
