What are some Youtuber gimmicks that make you instantly dislike them or their content?

Playing a clip of something stupid someone says 5 times in a row with each repetition being slower than the last.

Yes, we get it you collosal faggot, we heard it the first time, we didn't need to hear it 3-4 more times at decreasing speeds making something that should take 2 seconds to listen to stretch out to almost a fucking minute you absolute talentless hack.

Are you talking about Midnight, the dude who does reviews of Doom mods? Cause that faggot constantly does that bullshit.
No, different beaner. EddieVR of "The Boys" group. (YT groups are a cancer of themselves but that's a whole seperate thing, Cow Chop's demise is still a sore spot, fuck that anti social cunt James)

I don't even watch them out of my own volition and just kind of passively listen in sometimes but even then I noticed how much this spic relies on "*spanish gibberish*, valentina sauce, mexican food, I used to be illegal, I hopped the border, changla".

The clip of Kevin Spacey's Luthor from Superman Returns yelling: "WRONG!"
Especially when the content creator doesn't care about audio levels so that clip is a fucking jumpscare.
Reaction clips in general are pure cancer, especially since the videos that they infest are usually video essays, rants, or something that's basically a podcast, and as you've said they're dropped in without any audio normalization and they add nothing to the video since I want to listen to the guy talk about something. Pop culture critic channels love to spam them and I've seen videos where a guy played something after every sentence 5-6 times in a row.

1. Them saying any variation of “dont forget to SMASH like and RAPE the subscribe button and DECLARE TOTAL NOTIFICATION BELL DEATH”

2. When the video is full of swears with cuts or sound effects censoring them out. Not swearing at all is just a better alternative at this point.

3. When they are in the middle of narrating something and they cut to a filler joke with a shot of the camera zooming onto their face.

4. Videos barely hitting the 10 or 20 minute mark and full of midroll ads

I don't know about the US, but here in Argentina we have a TV show that has been going on for years that does the exact same thing when showing clips/news. It might not be a purely Youtuber gimmick.

1. When a true crime YouTuber decides to upload 3 he interrogation footage with their own sparse commentary sprinkled throughout. If I wanted to watch the whole interrogation, I’d watch it without commentary interrupting it in between. It doesn’t help that 90% of interrogation footage isn’t really that interesting 90% of the time because there’s a lot of dead silence.

2. People who need to put in minute long “content warnings”; especially true crime channels. Actual people suffering from PTSD aren’t so limp-wrist that they’ll crumble from hearing the words “rape”, “abuse”, “assault”, “murder” and other words we hear in the real world all the time. This pandering to weak people needs to stop.

3. Anytime there’s a weird, cartoon avatar that pops up with a different voice than the main narrator. There’s one food channel I stumbled upon where this happened, and they chose a chick with the most spergy sounding aussie voice I’ve ever heard. Every time she showed up, I felt my ears being grated.

4. Any video essay talking about a piece of fictional media that devolves into talking about the YouTuber’s own political views. I just wanted to tune out to a video about Sonic SAT AM, not listen to a diatribe about LGBT-ANTIFA “rights” nonsense.

5. Any video that goes over 40 minutes talking about a particular topic is 100% detouring away from the main topic. I’d rather watch a movie at that point, than to waste time watching a video of the same length. There is no reason a video essay should exceed an hour.

6. “Tea channels” which just rehash the news from KiwiFarms or Twitter and take forever to get to the fucking point in a 10 minute video. They spend at least 95% of the video going over Twitter comments, and almost never actually talk about the topic in their thumbnail. Why waste 10 minutes watching some thot read a comment section when I can do that myself in the same amount of time?

7. Any channel ran by a tranny has a 100% chance of being boring with a grating voice. While at the surface their content appears to be about anime and video games, it’s all just thinly veiled vanity projects to talk about being trans. I have yet to see a Trans YouTuber who didn’t go “btw did you know that I’m a tranny” in the middle of their own videos.

8. Straight up pandering to fatties by saying over and over that they’re “valid”; I stopped watching a video about America’s Biggest Loser because the narrator kept doing exactly that while in the same breath talking about the dangers of an eating disorder. News flash: morbidly obese people have an eating disorder as well. Promoting Fat Acceptance is just as bad as promoting Thinso/anything Pro-Ana related.

9. Pseudo-intellectuals trying to paint movies/films as pieces of media that either “tried to warn you” or “what it is saying about society” while completely missing the point.

10. Content that just straight up plagiarizes KiwiFarms without giving us credit. It’s absolutely annoying that we’re never credited by these drama channels who want to benefit from our fruit of knowledge without giving thanks!

I like a lot of true crime and interrogations, but Dreading lately has been doing that so bad. Showing really famous cases. They all do it, but they've gotten the worst at showing incredibly overblown ones uncut and hardly any comments. They're currently showing all Chris Watts again. Dumb.

ETA: Dreading also showed wannabe pooner Ezra McCandless's trial, uncut, 1 hour a week for a month. Not only it that so boring, it was already done to death.

The best one honestly is True Crime Loser, he's completely hilarious. He doesn't even show much of the footage of them, but he's really funny. Sadly he'll do 2 or 3 videos every 3 or 4 months for the last few years.

TV, especially Cops, perfected this long ago with a 5 second 'viewer discretion is advised'.

Clownfish, Turkey Tom, thequarting, Rynel Kinel. Oddly enough Tyrone Magnus is about the only one that does it well because he'll just skim it, take some comments, and add actual thoughts.

That’s pretty much what’s been bugging me about his content lately; his commentary has been sparse compared to the footage itself… which at that point, why not just watch the full interrogation footage without commentary?

He could have just included the highlights of the interrogation itself and cut straight to the point. I’d rather watch a 2 hour video of him going through the major points of the case, with highlights, than have 3 hr episodes of nothing but footage with horrible audio quality.

Then again, I’m so sick of hearing about the Chris Watts case at this point because most channels have covered it to death. It feels like he doesn’t have anything new to say about it, because what else is there to say? I prefer him covering lesser known cases, because in those lesser known cases the victims in question typically don’t receive justice in either life or death.

Which is why I prefer Coffehouse Crime these days, he actually mixes it up between somewhat well known cases and brings up cases that typically don’t get covered a lot.

Youtubers who bitch and moan about comments. If you want a large audience you've got to ignore the shitty comments. I honestly think a lot of them do it to get more engagement, not because they really care.
i love watching woodwork/building/craft videos, anything involving creating something and hearing the person commentate on what they're doing, but i can't stand when they try too hard to be quirky about it
>now i'll grab some DEAD TREE SKIN haha hehe ain't that quirky, and [does a little skit where they pretend to cut it with their hand] and gluey-glue it to the boardy-board with my handy dandy bindly bendy brushy-brush, [insert forced channel meme]
The only Youtuber who I've found that can do this while being tolerable is VGG, but Derek at least comes across as an actual human so maybe that's the difference?

PhantomStrider? I was never a big fan of his stuff, but he has literally this exact thing.

The thing that pisses me off is when they laugh at their own script. I swear that 90% of YouTubers do this now. They’ll read from the script, then cut to them chuckling, then go back to the script. No, we’ll decide if you’re funny.

Creators who needlessly include little bits of political commentary, or go out of their way to give political interpretations of things when convenient to their narrative
Especially egregious when the topic is totally unrelated to the thing at hand. Nothing like a 'cancer mouse' showing up halfway through a boomer shooter so the YouTuber can make sure nobody thinks he's based and redpilled for liking Blood or whatever.

The nintentuber needing to show you his wall of merchandise in every shot unsettles me greatly. I don't trust people like that.

Burping as a non-sequitur. I fucking get it, you thought it was hilarious back in 2016 when idubbz and corbis did it, but literally no one else did and they still don't. I wish death to all of these commentary faggots who still do it.

I get irrationally pissed when I see a guy with painted fingernails. I'll be a few minutes into some video when the guy talking comes on screen and all I can care about is that his fingernails are painted black. Makes him look like a fag and usually indicates he is.
This is about Big Yellow, isn't it

I have one in mind when I say this, and everyone here will know who it is (or at least have him included in their list of 'this guy?'), but when youtubers specifically act like dipshit cunts to pander to the lowest common denominator. Sometimes, these people will have interesting takes that make me sit back and think, then they'll turn right around and 'lol, but fuck him, he's stupid, lul.' and I'm reminded why I tell youtube to stop sending me this faggot.

Putting any pride flag anywhere in the video for any reason.

Taking all of their fans from youtube, earned from good editing and well paced scripts, then bumble-fucking off to stream cus it's easier. Related: Turning their youtube to a stream archive.

And a bit more loosely connected, when they decide to 'go in a different direction' and erase all their old content. Fuck you, I liked that song.

I've seen approximately two videos from this guy: One was about what made a street fighter character bad to play that was pretty harmless, and then the other I literally don't remember because it was overshadowed by him getting defensive & throwing a tantrum about some blemish on his face that I don't think anyone would have noticed or even saw in the first place.

It was really weird and pretty fucking funny.
