I really can't believe that these people call CPS/DCFS constantly for Ari, who, while with the Smiths, was a chubby, happy baby who was speedrunning milestones. I'm not even convinced that Ari is now in that apartment full-time, though I hope she isn't separated from her beloved daddy. And how would Alex in particular abuse Ari? She can barely lift a cup. If she ever hit her with the chair, we'd know, because chairs of that type weigh around 450 lbs.
The weirdest thing-- to me-- was that Alex didn't just admit that it's a bruise, because I do think it's a bruise rather than dirt. These comments she shared seem like a tacit admission of that:
Ari is super active: as soon as she learned to crawl, she was off and running. She's also been trying to walk, and she's been cruising from couch to couch for ages. Both the Smith house and the apartment have hard floors (not carpet). A mobile kid who's determined to walk is going to go down on one knee from time to time. I guess Alex is so unused to kids that she doesn't actually realize this, and I'm sure she's dreading the inevitable CPS calls. Of course, she could resolve this by not using Ari as a content machine, but she's not going to do that.
She has been unusually quiet since moving into the new place, though, which makes me wonder what's up.
