Let's just play devil's advocate and assume for a second that these knuckleheads are right. So, we've got a woman who claims she's a fairy, is non-verbal, beats up other people for just touching her, and claims to be banging a legal adult that looks like, behaves like, and is called a child, AND has a huge file of artwork that could be construed as child pornography in certain situations, and they're still defending her? No one here is attacking people for being weak, "jacktrash." We're mocking Murray for being a bizarre fantasist, and to a much lesser extent those who believe his nonsense. No one here said, "You know, I feel like messing with an autistic savant faerie who beats up old men and can't speak or be let out of the house without continual supervision." Murray took his bizarre stories a step too far, got caught, and the depths of his mental depravity are interesting as we sort out lie from fact.
No one here in this thread really gives a shit about the lives of anyone who isn't Murray or one of the people whom he jadedly involved in his many strange stories. Rock on with your unusual selves and take precautions with what you share and you'll be fine. Note that I'm not even touching the fact that some of y'all are embracing a dude who has created sick stories about autistic women that are in equal parts unlikely or impossible, and outright pedophilic, encouraging the hypersexualization and infantilization of autistic women and should probably clean your house before getting yourselves all knotted up over screen-caps of publicly posted information and analysis of what is said on your forum.

I was wondering how Murray had convinced so many people of his alternate identities and bizarre fantasy life while not being very socially apt himself. Then I realized that internet communities for people with moderate-to-severe autism are the easiest things to infiltrate on the fucking planet

The best thing is that it doesn't matter from the farms perspective whether "Lissa" is real or not.
Not real: We have the hilarious sexual fantasies of some old-time creepy looking hippy guy posted on the internet.
Real: We have the hilarious over-sharing of an autist telling the world about her weird sex and toilet habits.
The extra salt from her asspatters has just been delicious seasoning.

I think we figured out why they're so insistent on believing this nonsense.
Denial is a typical first reaction when you're being presented with evidence that something that you believed to be true for years and years is nothing but an elaborate lie. Murray lying to them while being such a prominent and well-loved member of their community is a huge blow. Of course they're protecting him and scrambling for ways to disprove us! They're his friends, or at least, they think they are Lissa's friends. Murray will tell them as Lissa that we're all liars, give them as little information as possible ("I'm not going to pozload my negholep," implying that our arguments are so absurd they're not worth addressing, which is something that you'll see a lot on Tumblr in particular), and keep selling it to them.
But we've planted seeds of doubt. There's no way we haven't.
As this goes on, we will see one of them start to question Lissa. They may do so in private, where we can't see, among themselves. The people who ask questions will find themselves ostracized, put on trial for their crimes, and others will double down and dig their heels in so hard they'll start to take root. Somebody will defect over here, hurt and confused as to why this happened, and may present more evidence against this lie, and panic will set in as the foundation crumbles.
Look, I get it. You feel like Lissa is your friend. It's important that a nonverbal autistic woman being so intelligent and accomplished despite seemingly insurmountable difficulties be real and true. It gives you hope, especially if you're on the spectrum yourself. If somebody like Lissa can be successful, then you can do anything! There's nothing stopping you! She's got a high-paying, respectable job and she doesn't wear shoes or use a toilet! You could get your boss to make lesser accommodations for you, surely! She's bisexual, too, and she's polyamorus, and their weird little family full of LGBT people with disabilities is able to function as a weird little unit, like an autistic hippie sex commune. They seem so happy and supportive of each other. You want that to be real so bad because it proves that all the shit you have to put up with being autistic or queer, all of it is fucking bullshit and someday that will be your life, living it as you want it, and everything will be wonderful and nothing will hurt.
That's what Murray wants, too. That's why he made this fantasy up, at least in part. People believing it makes him feel like he's not so lonely, 'cause there are other people out there like him that want what he wants. They're all on the internet, though. But on the internet, he can live this life, and tell stories about this cast of characters, and people will believe him and envy their adventures. Oh, and yeah it also happens to be what turns his crank, but people not judging him for it? People who want to protect him, protect his imaginary family from the harsh reality of the outside world? That's really big. He's in way too deep with all this. He's far too invested in the lie to actually admit to you guys that it's all a ruse. You'd be mad at him for lying to you. He knows it. And he can't possibly bear to deal with that fallout, with all those people who accepted his weird fantasies turning on him.
So, I'd like to ask, guys: if it turns out that Murray made all of this up, as we Farmers expect... would you hate him for it? Would you feel betrayed?
I mean, I know I would, were I in your position. I can't abide liars. I hate being lied to. I'd also feel incredibly bad for him over the fact that he felt the need to lie all this time, but it would take a while for me to be ready to forgive him. He'd actually have to like, cop to it and apologize. But I think that you guys, at least some of you guys, would be a bit more sympathetic. I think what it boils down to is this: do you like Lissa for the fact that she's this nonverbal, computer-programming-genius bisexual woman living out a fantasy life that you kind of wish you could live, at least in part? Or do you like her for her contributions to your forum? Is she there for you when you need her? Does she offer emotional support when you need it? Does she listen to you when you need an ear? Is she kind?
'Cause if that's the case, then you probably already like Murray, weirdo that he may be, since Lissa is just an extension of him anyway. You've been talking with him the whole time, and if Lissa's personality is what you like, well then, maybe you can find it in your heart to be friends with Murray, 'cause I think he really needs it. If he'd had those friends to start with, he probably would have never felt the need to make up this fantasy family.
That's just my take on it anyway, as an aspie weirdo who likes peering into the lives of other weirdos. And the best kind of weirdos, in my opinion, are the ones that are honest about who and what they are, and content with it. I think many Kiwis will agree, as we've grown legitimately fond of more than a few cows who were basically like "Yeah, I want to be a feminine pad" or "yeah, I fuck cars" or "yeah, I obsessively catalog glitches and bugs in Bubsy 3D" or "yeah, I make rambling YouTube videos about me reviewing cheeseburgers" or "yeah, I wear and collect diapers and dress in bunny rabbit jammies. So what? I yam what I yam." Murray doesn't appear to be a nasty, bitter asshole. I might even be capable of becoming kind of fond of the guy, despite his creepy fetishes, you know, provided he doesn't act on them. But I don't like liars. I can't get over that, and I think the only way we'd ever let up on all this digging would be if he came clean.
Until then, the Farmers will keep digging because we love a good mystery. And Murray's mystery is a fascinating one.
Just something to think about.

Half the time the more we learn about someone the worst it gets, because even the "Lissa is real" theory means we're dealing with a grade-A nutcase, and I'm at least not about to make friends with an unrepentant pedophile if that's Murray's "real" self.

Well, these people apparently have wildly different standards than most of us.
I guess on the plus side there's zero evidence of him acting on any of those desires aside from making creepy Second Life character renders so at least he'd be a creepy weirdo that kept his hands to himself... hopefully.
