• Is the embodiment of defiance against God's will, her true form is the act of sin itself, hence her name
• Gave birth to the concept of death, as well as all hellhounds
• Actual demonic appearance, a horrible old woman with the lower body of a snake, taking inspiration from the serpent which tempted Eve to sin, as well as the phrase "ugly as sin"
• Isn't actually stuck in Hell, but roams free on Earth (the reason why sin is even a thing)
• Wasn't really ever born, but was instead created from the evil thoughts inside Satan's head while he fell from Heaven
• Is part of the trinity of Satan, Sin and Death, a perverse parody of the trinity which mocks God

• Isn't even slightly evil despite being a demonic princess, is a leisured aristocrat of Hell
• Her true form is just a bigger meaner version of her (lame)
• Didn't create any monsters or any new evils to plague humanity, instead decided to be a small business owner

• Stuck in Hell eternally, wants humanity to reach salvation which is the opposite of what demons usually want

• Doesn't symbolize any particular perversion or blasphemy

@Castoreum Honestly, I’d say that it’s alright that a show with Heaven, Hell, angels, demons, and Satan himself doesn’t NEED to be some nuanced discussion about morality and the human soul and what happens after death involving a bunch of religious leaders, including the heads of at least five different sects of Christianity. But is your issue that Hazbin Hotel is a show that WANTS to have those kinds of conversations and is just really bad at it?

Satan and Lucifer are two different characters in this series with Lucifer representing the sin of pride and Satan representing the sin of wrath.

Satan is a different character we haven't seen yet, IIRC.

Episodes 3 and 4 are decent. I couldn’t stand “Respectless” since it sounds like poppy garbage but “Poison” and “Loser, Baby” were good. I hate how childish Charlie is in episode 4 and her powers were wasted here. You think since she’s Lucifer’s daughter and is probably powerful, she could have killed or knocked out Valentino.

Honestly the religious symbolism/aesthetics in Viv's shows are on par with Japan doing that same type of thing with anime. It's just going for how cool it looks visually rather than looking into the meaning behind it.

Hel in Norse mythology was a place of cold darkness where murderers, oath brakers and adulterers spend a eternity as punishment. Surprisingly very similar to the original idea of Christian Hell but since it's from Nordic cultures it's not all fire and brimstone but cold, wet and dark.

So basically Hel is "you fucked up now live with that looser!".

I'd say anime has a bit more of an understanding and nuance than Vivz when it comes to Christianity.

Also, they're better at being entertaining with it too.
Whether its silly edgy like Panty and Stocking, or dark edgy like devilman crybaby or Evangelion, fun/cool stuff is constantly happening and its consistent.

Hazbin is super lukewarm.

The conflict is like from a teen girls wattpad highschool preps vs gofs story except with furries and biblical characters.
The gore and sex stuff is boring, its always so unserious except when it sometimes is serious for like 5 seconds.
The main characters are boring and are always portrayed in the right because theyre the main characters. The main characters that were literally send to hell for their sins. Even all the antagonists except Valentino are boring.

It hasn't done anything particularly shocking like one of our protagonists brutally murdering a good character they made us grow to care about or jacking it to their comatose friend or whatever, nor is it all that funny or wild. Its just kinda exists.

Not using realistic evil characters like dictators etc is one thing, but the characters barely even do anything noteworthy. Its literally just red LA.

It doesn't shock me, it doesn't make me laugh, it doesn't make me think, it doesn't make me happy or sad, its like eating porrige made with wheat and water with some red 40 and sprinkles thrown onto it.

Okay this is bothering me so fucking much…WHY IS EXTERMINATION A THING, AND WHY IS VIEWED AS SOMETHING SO HORRIBLE. Hell is supposed to be a place of eternal damnation and misery, where every waking moment you are spared not, and if you are briefly spared, the fate that awaits you after the pause will be worse than you could ever fathom. Extermination, by contrast, sounds like something that one would look forward to after dealing with the brutality of infernal existence, in the style of Ted killing Ellen in I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. It might not be a pretty death, or necessarily a quick one, but a stab through the heart, in comparison to the misery that one must endure through living in the bowels of the Earth, at least guarantees a merciful end. No more suffering. No more torture.

Even if VivziePop’s Hell operated on different principles, it’s still motherfucking Hell. Hell isn’t supposed to be nice. The trope of Hell being nicer than Heaven is done to fucking death and the Hell that’s portrayed in Hazbin Hotel still looks like a shithole. Why is Extermination viewed as horrible. Jesus Fucking Christ on a fuckstick.

It came out only month ago and already the hype seems to have completely died down except for the very occasional vivziepop meme, 0 staying power, miku binder black thomas jefforson had more cultural impact



Seriously, I saw infinitely more posts, fanart, memes etc about hazbin the months after the pilot came out, than the months after the damn series released.
Many people saw it but people aren't talking about it anymore because there's nothing interesting to talk about, people liked the characters who were then barely fleshed out in the actual series
