Sony hate thread

I just hope the failure of FF7R doesn't drag down DQ12. If i were Squeenix I might even consider going to Nintendo and seeing if they're willing to pay for DQ12 becoming a Switch 2 console exclusive, i'm sure the money from that deal would be more than you'd get from PS5 sales.

Dragon Quest's traditional rule was that it was always released on the most popular console at the time. That's why we got DQ9 on DS.

DQ 11 is the first game I know of that got a separate port (at least in English) on two separate consoles. I'm hoping they stick with Switch 2 and the more traditional console base/gamer. For puff puff's sake if nothing else.

Some of the NES classics got remakes/updates on SNES. You could argue that XI S was the same. And that the 3DS version is an entirely seperate game from the PS4 version.

The 3DS version is the best version of the worst mainline dragon quest game.

Edit: this was poorly timed :(

I'm reading that the last Spider-Man 2 patch left a dev/debug menu in by mistake.

Anyone who owns it want to check? Apparently you can access a dev menu by pressing L3 on the save select screen, or a debug menu by pressing Options+Touchpad.

Apparently it confirms a Beetle DLC is upcoming, if the leaks hadn't already.

Insomniac just keeps on winning.

Emulation is the way.
Oh I'm already emulating the hell out of everything, but a native port is usually better, since you usually get native ultrawide, 60+ fps, etc, and performance tends to be a lot better running natively. I'll give Sony this, Nixxes does seem to do a good job with their PC ports.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has the record of the lowest-selling mainline FF title in Japan, even lower than the previous Final Fantasy 16 which scored 336,027 retail copies on first week.
This is what you get for releasing a game from a series that's mostly important to people who like Japanese games on a system most people, especially Japanese, don't have these days.

A new Final Fantasy VII game

Selling poorly

In Japan

That has got to bode poorly for the future of both Square Enix and PlayStation. Maybe they shouldn't have waited until their audience was geriatric to do something new with Final Fantasy VII. Maybe they shouldn't keep it exclusive to a console relatively few own. Maybe they should have actually remade Final Fantasy VII rather than do a weird reboot and called it a remake.

The fact that they're locking XVI, Remake, and Rebirth behind the PS5 shows how stupid Square is. Why would you artificially lock out gamers and force them to buy a Soystation?

>make a new trilogy
>the first game available on a platform with massive installbase
>release the sequel exclusively on a platform people don't give a shit about

Sony paid them and the deal was probably signed a long time ago (before 7R came out) when Nintendo was either still in the Wii U era or Switch was really new.

It was real. They already put out another patch to disable it, but people were having fun with it yesterday.

It was somewhat limited, I doubt it was the full debug menu, and a lot of options to print debug info simply didn't work. But you could use it to jump to any mission, objective or checkpoint in the game, including some unfinished or unused test areas, and areas they used for recording trailers or tutorial videos. There are references to DLC missions that aren't out yet, but trying to play them simply doesn't work because the assets aren't present.

It's a cool look at things you'd normally only get several years after release when a guy finds the game on a devkit in a dumpster somewhere. It is an unfathomable blunder that this was enabled in a build that passed certification and got released when activating it was so easy, many people did it by accident.

Oh that's actually confirmed? I figured it'd be Swarm based on things in-game. Any time you see a science exhibit it's basically a huge foreshadowing thing.
