As time has gone on the signal to noise ratio has gotten worse and worse. You now have to go through pages of repeated one-liners between content, which is why the highlight feature was created. It used to be if people wanted to chime in, it would be thoughtful and funny and/or they would also check in on the cow and bring back something interesting. Many people think they are contributing with their presence these days, making it harder to see what's actually going on with the cows.

• Early November 2023 - Null argues with Kiwis on America having real cheese. I believe nobody got banned, and I presume the thread would be a fun shit-flinging autistic contest. Apparently, he was angry because the same people were bringing up the same points on American cheese and closed the thread and kept his opinion on America not having real cheese till this day.
• Late November 2023 - Null banned users @Matt Damon and @polonium (latter joined OnionFarms) in the Woman-Hate Thread because he got in a really bad argument with them. @Johan Schmidt, who was barely even a woman hater, also got banned, because he made a beer joke off of Null's expense.
• Early December 2023 - Null gets into a massive hostile argument with the Farms on the hbomberguy-Internet Historian Plagiarism debacle. @Mango Cobra gets banned by Null for being his most prominent critic in the thread and the fact that he brings up Null's hostile arguments in the Woman-Hate Thread. Null remains convinced that Internet Historian is still in the wrong against what the majority believes.
• February 2024 - Null removes posting images in Sneedchat with no announcement given and screeched at users. (So that is why images stopped working in chat after some hiatus from using it. I thought it was my computer for a second.)
• Early March 2024 - the sticker debacle. Null is solidly on the ground that sticker notifications should and would not come back despite 72% of the site wanting it back.

I hope to God this isn't some downfall arc because I really want to see Null obliterate troons and crush Greer into debt.

This reminds me of when @The Fool got banned in 2021 by Null.

He's the one that got half the emotes taken away from A&N despite the shit he repeats cause he kept getting top hats for all his TDS and covid sperging.

This isn't actually why the stickers got removed. What really happened was that Null had wondered what would happen if stickers were suddenly removed from A&H, @Dyn told him to make the only reactions "Agree" and "Disagree, but I understand your point of view and value you as a person", and then Null just ended up doing it.

Maybe so, but this is a very broad site. The lolcow main isn't the only forum for cows by far, but overall the numbers are far more for internal A&H and Debates and has been since I've been here.





I'm not getting used to it still without reaction notifications. If they come back suddenly I'll squee, sadly. It feels emptier, deader, and all that. Which may be the point.

I think that's a consequence of the site growing rather than rather than anything else, if Josh wants his site to have less spergy noise then he should stop letting any rando from being able to make an account, I only really read the Anissa and Jim Sterling threads and have never seen a problem.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt after some time had passed that it was just a one off anxious rant maybe brought about by the mental stress of all the lockdowns, but idk. Null still has a lot of growing up to do. Anyone that thinks that relationships "solve" your personal problems is in for a world of hurt.

71.7% want the stickers back. That's a majority of users, why are you catering to people who get whiny about stickers? It tells the user if their post is a good contribution to the thread or not. It allows people to realize when they're being too spergy on the Internet. I've been visiting this site since late 2017 and early 2018, removing a vital part of the forum is counterintuitive.

Just tell people to turn off the computer, goddamn. Listen to the majority, their opinions are the ones that actually matter.

How many of the 71.7% are a true and honest sweetheart from the groundup to end Null's love quest, hmm? Best way to get Null to do something is be female (and make it clear to the forum by GOTISmaxxing)

I've never had them "break" in a way that was a technical failure, it's generally a usability issue. Say you're watching an active thread and in the time you were afk, there were 5 new pages. You read 3 of the new pages but then get busy as you have a life or something, the thread is still not fully caught up on so the notification doesn't retrigger and unless you happen to remember "oh I didn't fully read that", you won't see it again.

There's also another usability issue with the frontpage watched threads box: it orders by "most recent activity" but if an unread thread falls off of the top 5 list, you won't see it ever again. That's happened multiple times with the Australian totalitarian thread for me since it's a little slow and tends to get bumped off that short list quickly. I think there should be two levels of sorting: Unread first then ordered by date

I wish the watched thread notifications were sticky and would remain unread until the thread was fully caught up with.

Ironically when null was asking about DMs this is what I think most people were referring to. If you had a page for actual chit chat and catching people up and a page for info that would probably work out best.

I think it was multiple people, I was afraid it was me because I made a comment about late clocks and null mentioned on the podcast about late clocks when that isn’t what I meant at all. But aparently I’m not the only one with main character-itis since like 4 or 5 other people on here coped when they thought it was them.

He said on MaTI that he doesn't date local women when abroad, egirls are a landmine for anyone with notoriety, and if he is going on the legal offensive, then he will need to appear in court, which means that his face and name will be shared on MSM articles, which will turn away the vast majority of American women who googles him (not like googling his name leads to anything positive anyway, but still).
