God I can't wait for this person to take one step outside the bubble of college and try showing any of this shit to a professional studio and either get shot down hard, or told she has to draw something other than what's essentially tumblr-ified deviantart-tier bimbo fetish art. Given the state of animation right now I don't necessarily think her style's (unfortunately) out of place but like other people said already, it's the ego that needs to get kneecapped before she'll get anywhere art-wise.

I dunno, something about this being posited as progressive really gets under my skin. Just admit you're just drawing this to bust a nut to.

She's to ftms what Dobson is to lesbians only possibly even creepier. Can't wait for someone to tear her a new one, I love seeing egotistical creeps knocked down a peg.

Welcome to the club. I used to be real big on going to animation and the arts, but then I realized that it's mainly contract work that's inconsistent with shit wages (You can go months without a job) and frankly my time would rather be spent on a degree in the medical and technological fields that will land me a permanent job and then work on art and animation on my personal downtime.

Anyways, back on topic: But I do believe the real tragedy here is that Rory is a great artist when it comes to realism....but instead of improving and modifying their style like you should do an an artist as you learn, they go for limited and childish styles that mirrors Rebecca Sugar's that hinders them greatly and sticks to one topic and 1 topic only (a real nasty "trans" Captain America and Marvel). Seriously, what the fuck is with the anatomy and proportions on her drawings? Even Steven Universe and other 'calarts' shows have a sense of cartoony anatomy and proportions on characters with their show's art styles.

What also doesn't help is her horrifically huge ego (im getting violent snapesnogger flashbacks) that's being fed upon by her twitter and tumblr followers as it's pretty obvious that she comes from a family with $$$ and was never told "no" or punished as a child for being a little shit.

Neither look a thing like the character but the older ones aren't nearly as hideous. The shitty Steven Universe knockoff style isn't doing her any favors.

From what I've seen and heard about CalArts, the school tends to turn your art style into ass. I remember a specific example of this, but I can't find it at all.

I'm game. I think the most noticeable thing about Rory's infamous Cap FTM is that its really just a bimbofication at best, and the majority of her 'FTM' is really just an excuse to draw cuntboys and overtly sexualized women. More often than not it seems like cuntboy shit is mostly done for humiliation fetish purposes. Taking her ego into consideration, Rory's obsession with all this shit probably comes from a superiority complex thus possibly a humiliation fetish.

So TL;DR its probably her superiority complex manifesting itself as a humiliation fetish then masking itself as a FTM progressivism thing to fit in with the Tumblr kiddies.
