What Are The Worst Character Designs You Have Ever Seen?

Alright, I was wrong on the age, this is one of those cases where the official age seems arbitrarily low, but just saying “high-schooler” makes it sound like we're talking 16-18, not 14-15.
AFAIK, you are around 15 when you start high school in Japan.
Also,
>teenagers don't dress like that
Believe me, dress codes exist for good reason. I saw way too many girls wearing the skimpiest things they could get away with throughout high school to say otherwise.
Same. Evidently, it became such an issue that crop tops were banned.

And it makes me think of the "bloomers" that were the standard for PE uniforms in Japan during the 70s and 80s. Shit was literally booty shorts and a T-shirt for middle schoolers. Gross.

Spider-Punk, whether we’re talking the movie.

All the BA characters and he chose Eimi to get mad over
I hate that they are supposed to have an angel vs. demon theme to them but that doesn't show up at all in the designs, I haven't played it and didn't realize for months that the characters had halos because they look nothing like it, it's just weird mechanical shapes. With the exception of Arona, none of the characters stand out to me, so I suppose they're more boring than bad, but I'm still annoyed they aren't actually utilizing their theme visually.

That's just between the two schools, and really the entire setting doesn't stand up to scrutiny, but it also really doesn't take itself seriously at all either—without being spoilery they're not angels.

It's an acquired taste even without the gacha mechanics.

Blue Archive's “High School” setting is practically tacked-on anyway, you could tell me half of these “students” were just wacky mercenary chicks and I wouldn't doubt you. Conversely, I really can't be made to care about official ages due to anime logic always making teenagers more mature physically and mentally in action-oriented settings.
You're missing the forest for the trees.
I saw yet another case of somebody bitching about how “anime bad because boobs,” and I said that I felt that it was being overdramatic. As stated before, Blue Archive's “high schools” are practically just groups of young women shooting shit, so I don't give two fucks if the outfits would realistically be massive dress code violations, and I don't care if the official ages say that a character is supposedly so young when they obviously look quite a bit older. Quite bluntly, people saying “ackchually, that obviously adult female in a provocative outfit is only 14 so you're a pedo” annoy me just as much as the people trying to defend what is obviously a child in sexual scenarios because “ackshually she's a thousand year old vampire,” and that seemed like the core of the complaint.

Goddammit, I don't even play the damn game, I just think that this thread is going too hard on the anime hate train instead of focusing on actually bad design half the time.

Obviously I have not watched the movie so pardon me for asking: is he meant to look deceased? He looks like he's approaching the early stages of zombiefication.

If he had been a Lollipop Chainsaw boss character, I'd actually dig his design.

Anime girl ages are always arbitrary and decided primarily by the artist coom level rather than any visual feature, especially as modern designs are the product of decades of exaggeration.

I think he was meant to look like the more washed out 80's comic style

In general the newer spiderverse has a lot of shit designs after really solid designs in the first film.

Hmm yeah, didn't translate well to the movie because he just ends up looking like a blackwashed version of this punk.

In the movie, he's animated like he came straight from an 80s punk magazine.

Fire Emblem characters have gotten pretty bad of late, but nothing tops the Nautical Negroids modern Capcom/SNK have introduced with their recent iterations to their button brawlers. Look them up, they are garish. Also, Capcom, if you're going to bend to D.I.E. shit - stop giving your Negroids caucazoid eye colors, bone-structures, and straight/blonde hair. If you're pushing Nogs, you have to go whole hog, that means as sub-saharan as you can go.
