fallout tv show fallout 4 sale.png
I get that you want to capitalize on your new fanbase and sell them your slop as easily as you can so they can join the cult of consooming, but isn't this a bit low? I would expect maybe 25% off, less than 50% off at best. Activision is still selling their old Gen 7 COD games at full price and people still pay for them because that IP still has value(for now, anyways). What's going on, Todd?

It's a 9 year old game. Back before the PS5 times it was customary to buy decade old games for about 5 bucks on sale. Trying to sell this as Todd being scared is reaching. Activision are just jewing you when you can buy used copies for consoles for a 10th the price.

They know shit sucks, props for relatively accurate price.

Let me reiterate: Activision still sells games older than this for nearly full price and they're still selling.
Fallout 4 isn't just an "old game", it is an old game from an IP that's getting less valuable with every episode of this TV show airing. If you want to buy even the DLC for COD games released around the same time, you will have to pay much more than that and that's at a rare discount, whenever they have one. Bethesda would be doing the same thing if they could get away with it.

Correct: Smart of them to discount the games when they know there are a lot of new eyes on the franchise, but it's hilarious to see how low they have to go to get anyone's attention. If Fallout 4 was a good game, or a game worth having, it wouldn't be selling for a fiver at a 75% discount.

modern fallout players are all losers with families and jobs and kids and stuff
this is incontrovertible because otherwise they'd have encountered an actually good game at some point and wouldn't put up with fallout

so since it's just a weekend deal they're probably banking on them all buying it again on steam (or upgrading to GOTY edition) and then talking about it at the watercooler with their colleagues down at the old forklift factory

I would also like to remind you all Starfield was a massive flop and is dead as fuck. This little move has gotten FO4 up to 50k daily players on Steam and earned it the 30th most played daily spot while Starslop is nowhere to be found (But Skyrim is lmao, as is TES:O and even 76 managed to get just about the same as Skyrim).

It's perfectly possible they doubled down on the discount to try and salvage numbers for their quarterly reports to Daddy M$.

Correct. This is now the future of Bethesda, milking their fans for every little penny and desperately hoping to attract the kind of fanbase that has no standards and will happily consoom anything. Their recent history, and I mean almost a decade long history by this point, shows they are incapable of making a good product.
The only thing worse than making a bad game is having people lose faith in you ever creating another good one. Fallout 76 + Starfield + Nuking of the Fallout setting, all within a span of only a few years? Even the biggest Bethesda paypigs are coping now.
This is exactly what the company that started the trend of bullshit DLC with Horse Armor deserves.

So when do we find out if this was 'successful' or not? I'm seeing tons of bought articles talking about the show and games... but nothing that tells me if it's made a profit yet. I remember when Hazbin Hotel was making Amazon money they were posting all about it everywhere.

COD games get away with it because they're multiplayer titles and people want to play the version with their preferred maps/weapons/gamefeel. Fallout 4 is a near decade-old single player game. This is the last major thing that's going to draw in new players to the PC version for the game's realistic support life.
Ubisoft discounts Asscreed games that old at a greater rate all the fucking time now.

How do you even judge success with this? It's bundled with Amazon Prime...

...except that these older games have servers that are either dead or overrun with hackers, and it's single player is a 4 hour interactive movie at best. Only reason to buy these games(and it's DLC) is zombies, but even games without Zombies sell at full or near full price even today. Besides, nearly every old map is available in the newer COD games anyways, the latest one came with zero new maps at launch and literally just stole everything from MW2, the one from 2009.
No, it's all about IP. If your franchise makes money by the boatloads, it doesn't matter what you actually release, just look at Pokemon.
No, this shows that Fallout franchise isn't as important or valuable as people would think, if this is how low they're willing to sell the last single player experience(that is about to get new free content, mind you) to the people who just watched the show. If the IP was worth anything, it would sell at near full price, which is already just 40$(a steal, this is the price of Helldivers 2 and that game doesn't even allow mods).
This small little detail is all I need to know about how well the show did, and it's making me very happy.

Probably never. Ever since Rings of Power streaming services have just stopped releasing numbers and declaring ever show an unprecedented success.

That's obviously not true but without the numbers we'll never know.

That makes sense-- since Amazon is hoarding the numbers. Why the fuck would they admit to failure.

I asked some people I know if they watched it (none of them have ever played Fallout) and every one said they 'didn't get it' and stopped after two episodes.

I genuinely don't know why a non-Fallout fag would even bother watching the whole show. I cannot fathom it being profitable.

This show had a $150million budget for its first season before marketing costs were factored in. That's nearly $20million per episode. Does it look more expensive than House of the Dragon? It looks like those fan made series on YouTube that probably cost $1,000 an episode. A show like this with a massive budget was never meant to make a profit. It's basically a big tax write off. If they film next season in California then Amazon will get $25million in tax credits immediately. Most of the budget isn't actually going into production of course.

Amazon's deal with the U.S. government essentially allows them skip paying taxes and use that money to make shows for Prime. And they pay their executives a producer credit with the tax credit money as well. It's just more hollywood accounting. Sell a bunch of chink made garbage on your website. Take all the profits and put them into acquiring Lord of the Rings or making Fallout or whatever. Pay yourself extra money through a producer credit. Pay no taxes. Employees in warehouse piss in bottles and collect welfare to make ends meet. Vault-Tec is evil. Amazon is benevolent. Consume product.

Yep, that's why there is so much globo homo clown world poz here: This is propaganda wearing the skin of your favorite franchise, nothing new by all means of course.

Aren't ya excited for Elder Scrolls 6? Since they tried to push the shitty DLC/mod shop in Fallout 4 (and whatever shitshow happening in 76) you can bet they gonna make Elder Scrolls 6 with micro transactions in mind... they will bombard you with that shit from all sides constantly.

Speaking of which, apparently that guy actually was a schizo and now quit his channel to find god?
I was actually looking to find out what happened to him. Supposedly he was a Nazi sympathizer (a redditor said that so I immediately put that in doubt) and, most importantly, a possible groomer. Take it with a grain of salt though, I believe most of the people who went after Schizo Elijah just used his Discord (and Guilded) and his pro-Caesar/Enclave videos as ammo that he's a Nazi. As for the nouncery? I found no proof. Except the Schizo part, he was well known to be schizophrenic. The whole "God" thing is probably a cover up, though if I had a nickle for every meme channel that went to "find god" I've have quite a number of nickles, seriously what is up with shitlords becoming Christ seekers?

I definitely don't believe anything said about him, he had pretty much the entirety of bethesda and reddit side of Fallout community gunning after him. Of course they would start rumors and try to re-write history as they see fit.
I do think he might have actually found god, he's exactly the type of person who would take Kanye West seriously and fall for the whole religion angle he has going on. He probably just got burned out of editing more than anything, he didn't make as many videos before he quit as he used to.
Shame, I was looking forward to him ripping this show a new asshole, but his preview more or less sums it up anyways.

This is a bigger piece of evidence to how the show has actually performed than most. Skyrim is as big a normie bait as Fallout 3 and 4 and the fact he is rejecting it out right likely means it did NOT perform well.

Also fuck this j*urnalist scum it's Elder Scrolls not Skyrim you filthy fucking subhuman, even the basic bitch normie fans of Skyrim know that.
