Amazon Studios to develop series based on Fallout

I definitely don't believe anything said about him, he had pretty much the entirety of bethesda and reddit side of Fallout community gunning after him. Of course they would start rumors and try to re-write history as they see fit.
Yep, they provide no proof that he was anything they say he was. Any proof they do show is usually either out of context or just edgy jokes, along with just posting his videos like it means anything. I remember when he had an animated "black sun" (Schwarze Sonne) in a Legion video, and I think the TNO Hyperborea theme at one point too, that about it. PomusGaming made a comment that was very vague, much like the "proof" he saw.

This is a bigger piece of evidence to how the show has actually performed than most. Skyrim is as big a normie bait as Fallout 3 and 4 and the fact he is rejecting it out right likely means it did NOT perform well.

Also fuck this j*urnalist scum it's Elder Scrolls not Skyrim you filthy fucking subhuman, even the basic bitch normie fans of Skyrim know that.
Hope it flopped, would be hilarious and hopefully will light a fire under Bethesda's ass so they can start working on actually good shi-oh who am I kidding this will be nothing. Also, nah son basic bitch normie fans I've met don't even know the other Elder Scrolls games exist. I was talking with a friend of mine, who brought along one of his friends, and when we got to Elder Scrolls (we are way too fucking nerdy about The Elder Scrolls lore) and it took about 10 minutes before his friend said "wait, are you guys talking about Skyrim?" For the record we were talking about those old phone games Travels, more specifically Shadowkey and if they'll ever do anything with that game again. It was like telling someone about the ancient history of some obscure civilization with how much his eyes just glazed over at even basic terms like C0da, Pelinal "fuck them knife ears" Whitestrake, and other shit I don't recall. He's a cool dude and I'd love to get drinks with him sometime but you have to remember, normies barely pay attention to the games they're actively playing, let alone anything beyond them.

"But [quality] doesn't matter, because Bethesda spits out a game every few years for her target audience: Dads. I get it. You have two kids, you're in your mid-thirties, and you have time for exactly three games a year. I don't judge, we're all busy. But this game is immune to criticism, because the people you're arguing with don't have that much time or investment. They see a crater, they soy-pog, and then they leave." Needs some tweaking but that's the general idea of what I'm saying.

This show is the worst thing to happen to Fallout since 76. Why are trannies in the wasteland? Why wasn't Shady Sands getting nuked mentioned in Fallout New Vegas? Why didn't the writers use the Lonesome Road DLC to explain California being a wasteland again? There were so many directions they could've gone but they chose to do this for DEI points, its fucking shameful.

This entire show is a hate letter by Todd Howard to Obsidian.

Yeah, you know your story about civilization coming back from the ashes? Well this is me shitting on it! With 10 times the detail! And guess whose laughing now?! ME! Because my nihilistic vision is better then your hopeful one and the fools will buy it anyway!

It just works!

I quickly wrote out my thoughts and had ChatGPT reformat it.

"The Fallout series suffers from poor writing, despite strong set design, enjoyable music, and competent acting. Numerous issues with the writing detract from the show's quality. For instance, the writers often prioritize showcasing certain scenes over maintaining credible character decisions. An example is when a ghoul instigates a gunfight in a vulnerable position, risking attack from all sides. Additionally, the ghoul incapacitates an Enclave escapee without apparent concern for the likelihood of the escapee bleeding out before the bounty could be collected.

Even if one were to overlook this by arguing the bounty could be collected from a deceased escapee, there are further inconsistencies. Lucy's supposedly extraordinary luck does not protect her from losing her head to a Gulper, yet a conveniently placed fishing contraption allows the ghoul to retrieve it undigested.

Moreover, the Enclave escapee shows an unexpected lack of distress facing death and head delivery. Lucy's reaction to losing her finger is also not what one would anticipate.

While Fallout blends comedy and seriousness, the show compromises the believability of human behavior. Although one could attribute Lucy's survival to her exceptional Luck (my estimation: 10 in Luck; 3 in Strength; 6 in Perception; 4 in Endurance; 8 in Charisma; 5 in Intelligence; 7 in Agility), her multiple unfortunate incidents seem engineered by the writers to create entertaining moments. You can likely recognize these inconsistencies without further examples."

I think the article came out a bit too early to say that. The article itself is only two days old, basically came out with the show.

I honestly think it either means Todd is more concerned with Elder Scrolls than Fallout, or that nobody is actually willing to do an Elder Scrolls show. (which would kind of make sense, HBO has Game of Thrones and Amazon already has Rings of Power)

Edit: Apparently Emil came out on Twitter and said that Nate from Fallout 4 was a war criminal and part of the annexation of canada, and then came out and basically said "Not everything I say should be taken as canon" when everyone lost their shit at him.

So when I say you guys really shouldn't take the word canon so seriously, remember Emil "what I say isn't canon" Pagliarulo is now taking the Mike Kirkbride stance of "Whatever you want is canon". It's not like they were ever going to mention Shady Sands or New Vegas ever again anyways, so just disregard the TV show.

Great move from Emil. There are good ways writers can address retroactive continuity and the potential controversy around it, this is not one of them.

Anyone here have xitter? Ask him why the Ghouls in Fallout 1 Necropolis die of thirst when you take the Water Chip when Ghouls can supposedly survive in a fridge for over 200 years without any water. Emil should know, considering he is a big Fallout 1 fan and all.

"Ah, yeah, well whenever you notice something like that, a wizard the institute did it."

alternatively

"Not every bit of Fallout info I share write is automatically canon."

or

"Taking the water chip wasn't a canon choice, thus that never happened."

There’s a tranny BoS initiate that think’s she’s a man. Did anyone else notice the Elder referred to her as they/them/their like twice? Everything now has to reinforce these peoples’ mental illness.
It's because of Amazons DEI rules. They have to include gendershits.

All that thanks to the Fetanyl jogger, may he burn in hell.

Well I guess fallout is dead to me. If I want cowboy dystopia I'd go to wasteland.
Or fucking GURPs.

Or just write your own stuff like I am.
Fallout 3 looking kinda good after Fallout 4, 76 and this thing.

Fallout 3 keeps looking better and worse after these.

Better - It still seems the closest Bethesda was able to "get" this series. It does have good ideas and even some decent executions. Its atmosphere is amazing and it still legit feels like old Fallout on that sense. You can call it a theme park but its at least one I still unironically enjoy playing through.

Worse - it still signified the beginning of this new era as it really felt like a new sort of Fallout and none of the OGs were involved. There are still plenty of non sense in it. It would, sadly, only get worse from there.

Which sucks because I legit enjoy Fallout 3, it might legit be the only Bethesda Fallout I feel this way to.
Speaking of, if any of you still play that abomination or have a precariously functioning modlist, I hope you have auto updates turned off because they just did to it what they did to Skyrim a few months back. I'm assuming the timing is deliberate.

I wonder if they are aware that their dumbass updates destroy the fragile stability of the modding scene or if they are just that dense.
It kinda shows the sheer madness of gendershit that they honestly believe a world were even basic human rights don't exist anymore because many are starving or dying from radiation while living in complete anarchy, where some random raider can go medieval on your ass and hang your limbless body from a meat hook in the middle of the street, how in this world would anyone go out of their way to accommodate a pooner? specially a militarized order born from remnants of the US army.

Its not about if the propagandist believes the bullshit they spread, only that the normies do.
Also, Null loves New Vegas, so he's probably not gonna be happy with this either.

Null: *after he is done watching*....Well, its official, I have got to remove some other feature from the farms, its the only way I can make myself feel better now.
Edit: YongYea has recieved the Amazon check and is telling us, the public, how good the show is and how it "gets" Fallout and how cool it is.

You know, Yong, I was sort of on your side when it came to the bullying you got for you awful VA as Kiryu. Not anymore, Im on their side now, you aint Kiryu and you will never be. He has a spine, you dont.

Enjoy your soylent, you fucking chink.
Speaking of which, apparently that guy actually was a schizo and now quit his channel to find god? Fallout community is a crazy place, if you enjoyed his vids I would archive them right now while you can.

I do think he might have actually found god, he's exactly the type of person who would take Kanye West seriously and fall for the whole religion angle he has going on. He probably just got burned out of editing more than anything, he didn't make as many videos before he quit as he used to.
Shame, I was looking forward to him ripping this show a new asshole, but his preview more or less sums it up anyways.

De fuck happened to Schizo Elijah? Guy was based as fuck.

I can even forgive D.C. looking as bad as it did from the fact it got more nukes per square mile than most of the USA. The fact it is as close as Bethesda got to the OG is really sad. Fallout 4 is massive garbage which doubled down on almost everything which made 3 bad while also refusing to expand on the few good things. It's extra sad because it had amazing art direction, the robots in particular looked great and actually felt like real dieselpunk like the Protectrons which now looked like they really weight a ton and the sentry bots which have that real FAFO armored tank look, but they wasted it.

I keep thinking of the quest where you go to find the Silver Shroud stuff whenever it comes to Fallout 4. It almost feels like a stealth call for help / satire of the Bethesda Fallouts to read the frustration of the Hubris Comics people getting increasingly pissed off and deluded with their TV show as the producers keep changing shit and moving the story about away from the Silver Shroud into something else instead.

I wonder if they are aware that their dumbass updates destroy the fragile stability of the modding scene or if they are just that dense.

They know and don't give a shit. They never forgave the community for turning on them and refusing paid mods on the original incarnation of it back in 2015 and have been seething about it ever since. The modern Creation Club is how they managed to get that idea working and fuck you if you won't pay them for the privilege of modding their games into usability. As far as I know a lot of people recommend just straight up having a pirate copy to mod instead of the real one.

Hey. Having a self-harming pooner was more important than any of that BS storytelling integrity you're going on about.

Be grateful.

What Bethesda never "got" about the Setting was that the World of Fallout was not "post-apocalypse". The Apocalypse was history. This was a "new" world, but it was just the same old humanity adapting to the new world and thriving.

In the first games, settlements were not shitholes built out of scrap metal. Shady Sands had a brand spanking new wall and everyone lived in New construction Adobo houses for example. People didn't live in the ruins. They built new places. Compare that to Fallout 3s "Megaton" which is literally just a bunch scrap metal thrown together, while every other settlement was essentially just squatting in bombed out ruins.

There was a video I watched years ago batching about this. Nobody in their right minds would live in a house with a hole in the roof and rotting old world crap in it. All that shit would get thrown out and a brand new roof would be built. If someone wants to set up a diner, they aren't going to leave a fucking skeleton in the corner booth. Nor are they going to have it lined with broken windows.

Bethesda's take on Fallout was extremely nihilistic, and it is now on full display with this show.

I think I know what you're talking about. Would it be this dude right here?
He made a whole lot of videos, for example ones criticizing Megaton not making any sense. He would literally ask "what do they eat?" and what not, showing how little thought Bethesda put into their world building. I think he stopped making videos about Fallout now, but he used to get into very long rants against youtubers like Many a True Nerd and even had a little war with Oxhorn once upon a time that costed him his previous channel.

It is too early to say anything about the show performance, we will know more about concrete about it a month or two from now. Also if a season two will be announced or not will be the final verdict.

That would be this one I think: (Edited in the correct one with the specifics you mentioned)

And I also fully agree they should be much further along development wise, especially with GECKs in most vaults and with as many ghouls who knew how to work trades before the blast. You find so many damn factories that still function in the commonwealth, staff them with Mr. Handy's and you have the start of infrastructure.

As for the show itself: Cut out Maximus/BoS and the show was good enough. Enough of it was fun references, with the timeline and Ghoul anti-feral drug bullshit aside. I do, however, want to beat the fat guy in the vault with a garden hose in everything I've seen him in. Walton Goggins was great in every scene, Lucy was tolerable 80% of the time, hell I wish the Enclave dude with the dog would have lasted longer if it meant less Maximus

Watched the first episode. The show is really boring, slow and padded for my taste. A big pile of Meh. Not going to continue watching.
