  • new splash screen edited and adapted from old one by @HahaYes
  • mining contracts re-balanced
  • you can now click inventory slots to interact with the items therein
Currently people are on, cannot push the last one

  • click speed greatly increased, due to finding weird programmed delays (some of which were huge) whilst working on the above
    • the game now feels a bit more like it did back in 2008 in a good way

  • various blob mode fixes (as per issues on wednesday), emergency shuttle changes that can also be used for other modes later
  • enabled quick_empty by default on storage objects (so if you click object with it in hand for instance it will empty)
  • can now pull items out of containers in containers that you are wearing
  • alt-click to open containers without picking them up
  • please report any issues you find with click delay

I hope someone screenshotted the LGBT AI computer being beaten to death with crowbars by the crew.
I did only to accidently delete the screenie immediatly after lol. I do have this screenshot of moments before disaster though:
>the crew and ERT dude fight through malfunctioning AI's defences at its core, exctract the AI itself
>shoot it and beat it with crowbars to no avail
>ERT decides to blow it up with a C4
>plants a C4 on a floor tile and pushes the AI over it
>it blows up, exploding the floor, sucking everyone into the crater and spacing the hallways
>LGBT AI is still standing

Excuse me for double posting but I feel like this is justified.

I'd like to publicly apologise before everyone who played the last round. As a traitor, instead of actively antagonising the crew and making the round interesting (i.e. doing what traitors are supposed to be doing), I only did some minor misdemeanors nobody really noticed or cared about while waiting for the fellow traitor I chose to collaborate with to act, only for him to royally fuck up trying to set up the things he knew nothing about. As such, I'd like to ask @geckogoy to jobban me from Traitor for the time being, to let other more proactive people with better Internet connection handle this role.

Traitor is going to get a bit of work to provide more pressure to act, we will hold off for the time being (also I'm not sure which of the 2 traitor you are anyhow lol)

Was putting some more thought into it, the idea was maybe admins should be microing traitors, but maybe that could even be automated, so that you are forced to complete certain objectives by certain times or an explosive implant blows up your head

Pretty minor and it's likely from the initial change bu given you had to click within the inventory window to put them on over other equipped ones you can no longer put magboots over other shoes. It can probably be left as is if it's a pain to re-implement tbh.

The click speed change is phenomenal as well, interaction is smooth as butter now.

jobban me from Traitor for the time being
You can also select "no" in your character setup menu to traitor and other roles like that if you don't want to be selected for them.

I didn't even know that was a thing, I just use magboots as my main shoes as miner/engineer/etc
Yeah I found it out by accident tbh, makes sense that you can shove them on over other stuff, but it's more of a nice to have than a "scree fix or you're a fag" given once the magboots are on they shouldn't be coming off anyway unless you're getting tossed into a scanner or something.

Traitor shenanigans
Having some sort of explosive implanted in traitors would be a pretty on brand motivator. You could even tie that in nicely with the rp aspect. "You have to do this shit even if you might not want to or you'll die/lose an arm/leg/whatever". Automating it would be way nicer for everybody as well so you're not jannying traitors around all shift as admin and can actually play the game

Oh yeah @geckogoy another weird bug, when you empty a line of items from a box and it all moves down, the empty line doesn't remove itself anymore it just moves on top of your inventory, you can still interact with your inventory though while this happens. When you have a box with 3 lines of stuff it now moves and shrinks the game window instead of disappearing lmao

Aware of this, first spotted with plant bags and then ore bags, fixed just not pushed to server

  • plant bag/ore satchel/etc display issue fixed (where it goes off the bottom of the screen) (this should resolve the @HahaYes thing as well)
  • unarmed combat delay fixed by applying delay to the attacking mob instead of the attacked mob (it worked for attacking yourself so I did not notice)
  • shaft miner access fixed, turns out the cargo front door and mining dock airlock accesses were set to mail sorting room access not to cargo access
  • in a big brain move, i elected to relocate the attack delay into do_attack_animation, the thing that shoves your character sprite towards what you are attacking, allowing me to add attack animations to any situation that also seems like it needs an attack delay and add a missing animation at the same time
    • windoor attack delay fixed/attack anim added
    • attacking APCs delay fixed/attack anim added
    • attacking lights delay fixed/attack anim added
    • newscaster attack delay fixed/attack anim added
    • gas canister attack delay fixed/attack anim added
    • attacking random things around the station didnt find anything else, if you or someone else find more things without attack delays please report
  • plasma contamination deleted
  • that one guy complained about no boots in sec/eng lockers, finally got to that
  • added voidsuit helmet toggle button
    • got rid of the ability to install gas tanks on the voidsuit, felt weird, dont like it
  • clown spawns with banana again

  • AI can now die (the code for that was totally jacked idk what the last guy was thinking)
  • re-cooded ai cam to be less weirdly fast, disabled acceleration by default (it now just doubles your speed instead of doing weird stuff)
  • AI now defaults to asimov (because only people have rights)
  • re-evaluated gun fire delays, since that got upset by the click delay updates (also deleted the gay 'gun not ready to fire' message as its just annoying and obvious)
  • there is an old laser sprite that just looks better, swapped back to it
I think ai malfunction is a usable game mode again. Hopefully this is also the end of the 0 click lag induced jank, but that is optimistic

Ideally get back to new features after this. Also I command one of you to post something so I do not have to quadruple post later
