Warhammer 40k

I don’t think anyone who unironically liked those god emperor trump pictures actually played.
I play.... The videogames

I'm a relatively recent fan that came in around when they blew up cadia and proceeded to devour lore tidbits online. Legit surprised how much everyone hates the primaris marines.

I thought they were really cool, especially the 1st batch that contains stasis marines from the era of the heresy. The problem i think is the nu marines don't really have a story from their perspective to bridge the gap. They functionally are just an upgrade.

Now everyone bitches about the chapters accepting the nu marines and the gene seed but here's the deal lore wise. The custodes flew out with each first batch and smoothed over the logistics and holistics.
Sort off, Dredd operates on such hyper insanity that people get the whole satire aspect or more a dark comedy actuall. I mean, this is the same settinh that has vampires, cloned soldiers who carry their concious in special chips, and Judges from a parrarel reality where they have gained supernatural abilities and came to Dredds reality to "fix stuff" by brutally murdering everyone.

I love to pretend dredd is the prequel to Warhammer. It's just insane enough to work.

As for the Amazon drama it looks dicey. I think there's a possibility they can pull it off but they really need to tard wangle Amazon. If they want more then a chick in power armor they can make her a gene spliced psyker but otherwise let the show die if they won't compromise.

It will never stop being funny how Alan Moore was baffled that people latched onto Rorschach. Dredd I only have the cliffnotes since I never actually read anything but I imagine it's the same story. "UwU, you can't have police brutality!" while they set up a world where you NEED police brutality to even function.
Rorschach is supposed to be a right-wing lunatic, but he's a hero with absolute morality in a world that spits upon it. Judge Dredd is supposed to be a fascist stereotype, but he's an enforcer of the law and a protector of men when there are bad guys who kill people for the crime of living. The Imperium is supposed to be this brutal, unforgiving state full of superstitious morons, yet it keeps humans alive amidst an onslaught of evil aliens and demons.

These people are incapable of understanding that people will pick cool shit over ''the message'' any day of the week.

Now everyone bitches about the chapters accepting the nu marines and the gene seed but here's the deal lore wise. The custodes flew out with each first batch and smoothed over the logistics and holistics.
They should've been denounced as impostors and shot on sight along with the Primaris by the paranoid, superstitious, tradition-bound marines. But my headcanon is that the Primaris are actually veteran Space Marines who were just volunteered for a ''special assignment'' and came back with enhanced gene-seeds and armor. The moment they take their helmets off, their brothers recognize them and let them back in.

How much you guys think is actually true?
I bank on this as a somewhat-plausible personal theory dressed up as a "leak" to appear more convincing, and boy did that work to grab more attention then it would have otherwise. It's not difficult to start with the basic thought of "maybe megacorp Amazon has something to do with this" and then come up with the rest on your own.

I rather doubt any initial Amazon/GW project with feature Custodes at all, suspecting that people latch onto this idea at all because of the memetic perception of Cavill. Presuming it's all live action, projects will likely have mostly normal human characters to keep budget within reason, then having some expensive highlight moments with Space Marines to show them off as the pinnacle of power. Having even bigger, more powerful Custodes would diminish Space Marines by comparison, surely against GW's merchandising interests, and Custodes are also more difficult to fit into narratives anyway due to their rarity and narrow purpose.

Plenty of people like Primaris Space Marines, even among long-time 40k fans, in spite of what I believe is general consensus that the manner of their introduction in lore was half-assed to justify a sudden visual makeover and big new model line. People just don't make a point to talk about how much they like Primaris and compare them to Firstborn, especially so many years in as GW is now in the process of turning terminology from "Primaris Space Marines" into just "Space Marines" as always expected. Meanwhile, people who hate Primaris to this day are vocal about it and sure to let everyone else know.

Because that would actually reverse the dystopia of the Imperium. Imagine if they roll out biological improvements that make the average worker self-heal and be as strong as a Space Marine. All of a sudden living in an industrial shithole while working a factory job for 18-hour shifts isn't so bad because your body has been augmented to survive worse and you only need two hours of sleep.
Augmentations can even kill space marines not everyone survives the procedure you can still keep the grim dark setting everything in the entire universe doesn't need to be complete and utter misery

Every time Warhammer 40K has a gay drama. It proves Warhammer Fantasy. The original series was always a better written setting and has more consistent tone. Warhammer fantasy is dark fantasy a without a lot of the political trappings of 40K and shitting Tolkien. Warhammer fantasy still heroism and optimistic for such a dark setting. Warhammer 40K was memed as an edgy, accidental right learning setting when Fantasy still hanging on too chaotic evil monster races and shockingly pro-religious for British fiction. Hell fantasy orcs are still a politically incorrect hybrid between a fantasy Vikings and fantasy Islamic culture.View attachment 5920082View attachment 5920084
Grimgor Ironhide, is the best and the fact that they wouldn't just let him body the so-called chosen of chaos in storm of chaos just shows how much GW wanted a specific outcome.

The fact that the warriors of chaos actually go around committing rape is much more on brand for supposedly a God of heathenism

the fact that they literally just let Kislev get their ***** kicked and the ice queen could do absolutely nothing even though she supposedly one of the most powerful spell casters in the setting is ******** but the end times were just Mary Sue chaos

Since female Custodes are canon now I'd like to let you all know that I, Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl, was behind them and I'm also behind this:

"You now have 20 seconds to comply!"
Oh the Iron Hands would welcome “Brother Alex Murphy” with open arms

Him retaining his mind, undergoing such a severe reconstruction and willpowering his way through the programming would earn him the respect of all the clans.

I could see this, an arbites gets maimed, gets rebuilt by a magos into a servitor, willpower his way to life, gets revenge and quietly handed off to the Iron Hands.

“Nice shooting son, what’s your name?”

His videos are always insufferable, just like the professor. He’s no better than quarter pounder or any of the other people making videos about this who don’t actually play.

Wow this sounds like a really fun discord! Here's something interesting. The normal thing would be to include women in the groups you can't discriminate against.

However, according to this set of rules there aren't any women just people who identify as women and people who identify as men.

I think I've cracked how "It is known that all Custodians begin their lives as the infant sons of the noble houses of Terra" but they could also always have included women.

Only got into Warhammer at the beginning if this year, I Play AOS not 40K (although i would like to get into WHTOW at some point) When i saw YouTube recommend me this person's Channel. My first thought "this is a troon" because outside of some guy's wife there are no female wargamers. But the comments are not agreeing with this guy at all it seems.
