Most of the world uses metric too, most of the world is wrong about a lot of things.
I dunno, working on my Japanese motorcycle is a joy. As a math hater I'd rather see millimeter markings than fractional vomit.

Easy solution is to just standardize wrenches to use thousands of an inch. Best of both worlds.

The prices for the game are in the top right of each category. They have a $100 edition day 1 that gives you just as much p2w shit as EOD did.
Sorry about the small picture, but that's what the devs put up on steam themselves.
Idk. I don't see how it's p2w. I think people are looking at it and making comparisons to Tarkov where they don't apply. GZW isn't a loot game like Tarkov. There is loot, but it's mostly more mission focused. Like you can buy an M4A1 and surgical kits from level one traders right off the bat and none of it is even all that expensive.

I've been playing (just bought the standard edition to see if I liked it) and I don't feel like any of that is all that big of a benefit. It would be helpful to organize my locker and stuff, but none of it is gonna help me win a fight.

Honestly, EoD in Tarkov seemed more P2W than GZW seems. I’m excited to try it after work. Rest in piss, Nikita.

The increased locker space and bigger "prison pocket" aren't exactly p2w but they can provide a certain advantage when it comes to progression, which in Tarkov is the momentum that helps you keep up with players as they get better armor and ammo. Not sure if it is a 1:1 experience comparing the two but the higher packages also come with more/better "beginning of wipe" gear in both games so I imagine the mechanic does still give a reasonable leg up.

Like you said it won't help you win fights because skill is more important there, but it kind of reminds me of old Nanoweave armor in Planetside 2. It didn't make a huge difference overall, but in a 1v1 CQC situation it often meant the difference between being able to eat an extra bullet or three or dying first. So of course, that was the meta, and new players without certs to pump into Nanoweave got bodied a lot, complained, and Daybreak eventually changed Nanoweave.

Sometimes it's a tiny advantage but it still matters.

The only fun extractions shooters are Hunt Showdown and maaaaaybe Call of Duty DMZ, all these other ones are second job tier shit fests that bait you as being an epic operator that needs to look around for the special blue crowbar in the middle of the most popular PVP area of the map as you then have to run from Sgt. Kyle and his chinless retards becasue their only enjoyment is ruining your runs. Thats why I mentioned DMZ and Hunt while DMZ was sadly killed they had the same idea of wipes not utterly destroying potentially hours of work.

Extraction shooters arent the next BR imo, a lot of these games dont even have massive playerbases like the devs dont want a playerbase but they do want a viewership since extraction shooters the perfect streamer bait game now.

The main issues of GZW right now specifically have to do with dogshit optimization/performance and server queues, so the expected shit, really. The issue about server queues is a non-issue in my opinion, it's something they can fix fairly quickly. The optimization is horrendous though, people with top rigs that go way beyond the recommended are having issues with the game. I personally don't get all the people freaking the fuck out, it's early access you should expect issues and for them to get fixed later, you bought a fucking beta test.

It aint looking good, mostly negative reviews on the steam page. Imma let my retard friends spend their money and watch them play to see if its worth while.
It’s me, I’m the retard.

People coming from tarkov and complaining about server queues and poor optimization :story: they shoulda stayed in Tarkov.

I dont want to buy the beta test. I mean, if the boys are playing I will.

Yeah. I'd agree with that. EOD was vastly more P2W than in GZW because the advantage isn't inherent to the space. It was just how Tarkov handled it.

Idk. I think that's viewing it through a lens of other games and not looking at GZW itself.

The beginning of wipe bonus gear isn't good enough to bridge a skill gap, and the games are just so different that comparing the two is difficult despite similarities. Like in Tarkov it's way more P2W because you can stash a surgical kit in your butt and vs someone with standard edition, they're inherently gonna be at a disadvantage. But in GZW you can buy all the basic medical stuff from the tier 1 medical trader right away, including MFAKs which are just little medical supply pouches in GZW to help save even more space (allowing those players to store surgical kits and blood bags wherever they want). And most importantly stuff is vastly cheaper, so the issue of money that necessitated storing meds in the secure container isn't even an issue, and the difference in starter money isn't really all that important.

Basically any of the issues I can think of for why it provides a significant advantage in Tarkov just aren't present in GZW. It's funny to me that they've taken something very borderline from Tarkov and managed to make it feel fair by not being scumbags.

Most of the people I've seen complaining either:
1) have potato PCs that either don't meet, or barely come close to the min specs and then they're shocked they can't run the game or;
2) are running uncommon or retardedly high resolutions and settings and crying when they only get 60 fps on 4k @ epic TSR.

Obviously optimization is a problem (it's early access after all), but the game is wholly playable ime.
I haven't had any performance issues outside server related problems, and that was mostly just the release-rush hug of death that happens with every hyped-up game.

So far I like it a lot though.

I hear from 4chan that GZW has a tranny in the devteam, is this true?
The only woman I know of that's in MFG is the lady in charge of the servers, she's a real woman and appeared on one of the recent dev streams.

Yeah she's the only woman I've seen on the devteam too. And if she's a tranny, she's the most convincing tranny I've ever seen.

Personally I'd like to see a modified crop duster spraying napalm for walls of fire around an area, that would be pretty funny in Woods.

As per Nikita on reddit, EOD owners will be able to summon a BTR to fight for them, on any map, in the future.

When's the AC-130 edition? When's the tactical nuke one? Drone swarm? Orbital laser?
This is actually retarded. Even in the context of Tarkov lore, traditional PMCs do not have armored vehicles because THEY ARE NOT THE MILITARY. Nikita is actually going full retard, like Metal Gear/Girls Frontline levels of retard.
