I'm having fun, seems they learned a lot from Endless Legends success as far as city building. Also nice to see they didn't do what they've done the past few games and completely strip old features, like religion or espionage.
While I'm not a fan of the art style overall, the decision to change the fog of war from explored land from just slightly darkened tiles to a tanned cartographic sketch map is a really, really nice touch that is both visually appealing, and more importantly tells you immediately at a glance where your blind spots are.
Also appears to be a bit more to do early game during the "wait for basic buildings to build while sitting on your ass" phase, which is nice.
On the negative side, I think Sean bean was fucking drunk during this. He's slurring a bit and sounds disinterested as fuck reading the quotes.
But all in all seems good, which isn't surprising. Even Civ V at launch, which was a shitshow compared to Civ IV, was still a thoroughly enjoyable game.
That said if I don't get an XCOM2 easter egg like in V I'll be salt.
Edit: Fucking Germany just stole my barbarian hut kill after I spent 3 turns beating the piss out of the speardude in it. 3640BC, 1940AD, I don't care, I'm going D-Day on your ass Fredrick Hitler.
