The willful blindness is staggering. It is said that children are NOT in danger but neglect was suspected. I'm pretty convinced cops watched kids the entire week, if they are attending classes, and had followups with reporters on the conditions of the kids. The cops were involved mainly for the drug stuff. The kid stuff, unless there is a perceived immediate life or health hazard is handed over to CPS. to investigate. If CPS finds anything Criminal they pass it back over to the DA. The Sheriff likely has one or more Officers (typically female) who are tasked to working with CPS in this situation, and who will secure the kids as needed until CPS can get there. Because the Cops are the faster responder.
