Kari Morrissey was appointed to prosecute the Rust cases after the original prosecutor bungled the case with incorrect charges. Prosecuting is just a one-time thing for her.

She's definitely a great attorney and is so cocksure in court that she almost comes off as unprofessional. I didn't watch the trial you're talking about, but in the Rust case, she was laughing openly at the defense (deservedly, they were a mess). She's very good, but Baldwin's lawyers are going to be just as good. It's gonna be crazy.

I know there are obviously some proportion of women who'll dive head first into a swinging proposition. Kayla doesn't strike me as the type though. What exactly is acceptable “evidence” that kids weren’t being fed as they should be? I don’t think anyone is alleging they were literally suffering from malnutrition. Dont care about how much hate this gets, but Rekieta acted like an absolute scumbag during the Donga stream. He was clearly intending to entrap him, which is in clear violation of basic ethical principles, and was entirely unrepentant for his actions. This is especially shitty considering that Rekieta prides himself on being a devout Christian.

I used to frequently watch Rackets, because I thought he was funny and overall a wholesome guy, but stopped almost entirely after that stream and his refusal to admit that what he did was scummy. He seems to be going down the rabbit hole of internet tism, and from the albeit limited content I've seen of his his moral standards and professionalism seem to be devolving.

And just to cut off every response that "Donga is a scumbag who deserves getting shit on," no he doesn't, at least not by Nick. Just because someone's a scumbag doesnt mean you need to devolve to their level. Incidentally, I disagreed with @soy_king's opinion at the time, and still do. I don't think Rekieta entrapped Tonka. I think he gave Tonka a lot of rope, and the dumb injun hanged himself with it. It was rather masterful, and convinced a lot of people he might be a good lawyer. Even @soy_king changed his opinion later, IIRC.

Not everything the man did has to be retroactively judged as dogshit.

It's just a pity we didn't know then what we know now.
