Just played WFC again; and I have to say, killing Trypticon is far easier than Omega Supreme because there's debris that can serve as bomb shelters. Optimus can just hide under or behind it to ward off Trypticon's attacks, whereas Megatron has to burn rubber every time Omega Supreme launches a cluster of missiles.

The only thing that makes Trypticon harder is that you don't have a hero with default weapons that do splash damage. That made defeating Omega Supreme by hitting his weak points a lot easier as Megs, but Megs still has to deal with missiles and Aerialbots, whereas the most Optimus has to deal with are small spiders that he can stomp for energon shards so he can power up his team, something Megatron cannot do.

For me it's Unicron Trilogy and Aligned. G1 comes in third because it was made in a time more censorious than the modern day.

Not really, but it suffers from the problem of "Who was this made for?"

Transformers isn't the right franchise for a slice-of-life family show a la Steven Universe. Kids didn't even like Steven Universe, it was exclusively 20- and 30- something women watching it. That's probably what's going on with Earthspark, too. Kids and 40-year-old male nerds don't want to watch the robots sit around and talk about their feelings, they want to watch them go on adventures and beat the shit out of each other. It will never not frustrate me that much of the budding female fanbase insists on being catered to in every way when we're not even close to the main demographic. Stop insisting every fucking TF story have a romantic subplot, long drawn out talks about feelings, muh ~qweer~ representation, etc.

More specifically, I also think they need to get Mae Catt out of the fucking writer's room. You just know the obnoxious enby PSA shoehorned into the Philly episode was her idea, it couldn't be any more obvious that "Sam" is her self-insert.

The writing and tone is also wildly inconsistent. So you're telling me GHOST is this big bad enemy to be taken seriously... but they can't even find three Cybertronians walking around a major city undisguised. They don't even notice the SAME three Cybertronians sneaking into their own base. They're consistently made the butt of jokes, but we're supposed to find them threatening?

Indeed, just like the other characters in the show. I cannot comprehend how they managed to fuck up every single character design for both humans and bots. They all look inbred as fuck.

Moreover, the character development is almost non existent for some characters. Truly wasting a lot of potential.

For example, the shows wants us to think that Shockwave is really smart, but he does absolutely nothing science related? And Megatron’s redemption is never explained too? Wtf?

They’d rather focus on the Terran’s pointless family drama than on the characters that people care about.

I’m glad it is being cancelled. (Rumours)​

I think ES was supposed to be a sequel to IDW publishing's 2019 run, which is dumb because it should be able be viewed as a standalone experience to understand core plot points like megatron defecting to the autobots.

The idea that Decepticon cause was started due to a caste system could have worked out better if they didn't have Leftest retards who never picked up a History book wrote it. Like just read the Caste War of Yukatan and base the story off of that. Basically the same thing. I swear, other than Youtube, History degrees are only useful nowadays to help with writers do a better job with the garbage they want to bring out.

Megatron is more Authoritarian, though sometimes he comes off as Totalitarian depending on the universe.
I would also look into Caudillo. Not quite Authoritarian but pretty close. Nearly all of the warlords he put into power could be considered this.

I could definitely see him leaning towards the Totalitarian side of things if he was in charge of Cybertron - though TBH we don't see much of Cybertron under Decepticon rule in a lot of TF media. That's a direction that I'd wish future media would take, but preferably without the current crop of writers.

On a sidenote it seems like even the Earthspark dickriders don't like the second season of the show. Apparently the animation quality and the writing has gotten worse.
