Assassin's Creed thread

Yeah, gameplay looks boring, as expected of the usual ubislop. Dogshit UI too.
They also got the seasons wrong. The rice field looks ready to be harvested, yet there's sakura blooming? Sakura blooming period is around April/May and rice harvest season is not until October. What the fuck are these designer at Ubisoft doing?
I saw a J-E translator I follow also mention that there's fresh permissons, which is an October harvest.

The Japanese are also pointing out that there's a lot of mistakes, particularly in this shot:

From what I can gather, people are pointing out that:
  • Tatami mats are too square, should be rectangular
  • Tatami mats should only be reserved for elites in this time period
  • Stepping on the edge of the mat like many are doing here would be considered quite impolite
  • Many of them have way too flashy kimonos
  • The random servant to the right of Nobunaga would be considered incredibly disrespectful since the lords are meant to be on a physically higher elevation
  • The roof is apparently fucking huge, like, that ceiling is way too high
There's apparently even more mistakes elsewhere. Like using architecture that's way out-of-period, and mixing together buddhist and shintoist things like shrines and incense, and stuff like the monkey not being native to the land at all.

Depending on how you look at it, these could all be seen as autistic details that can be easily overlooked because it's a video game, and it's not trying to go for 100% accuracy. Most aren't going to notice or care. In isolation, it's not an issue.

But remember. They hire a team of cultural consultants who basically watch over the games like a hawk every time they make an AC game. Who's job it is to be able to say basic things like "you know that's not how the seasons work right?". And given how big respect is in tailoring Japan's culture, it seems like it'd be one of the major points you'd want to hit.

Inb4 people catch wind of the Japanese complaining online and you start hearing "oh well, you know what the Japanese are like, they're a weird racist country anyway".

How the hell do so many woke people idolize Japan while simultaneously absolutely hating Japanese and talking mad shit about them all the time? Kinda makes me feel like they'd be the kinds of people who would support colonialism years ago so they could get all the stuff they like about Japan and replace all the shit they don't like.

Oda Nobunaga did nothing wrong.
He didn't decapitate Yasuke the moment he saw him, so now I have to listen to people genuinely tell me he is some unsung hero of the negro people a thousand years later. That's pretty bad.

The animations looked horrendous. You can really feel them trying to make everything punchy and cool but it all falls flat.

That, and the culture being actively shit on, this truly is just a poor man's Ghost of Tsushima. Cannot fathom why anyone would play this over that.

Iirc he quite literally banged ranmaru mori when he was like 16/17/20/21 and Nobu was like in his late 30s early 40s? Some weird Japanese gay practice. This is of course in addition to Nouhime and his mistresses.

Like I swear its zaid he held ranmaru highly saying he was a beautiful boy (the og bishonen).

Naoe has better gameplay than nignog. I'm glad we can choose who to play as. The only good thing nignog has is Kool Aid Man'ing his way through buildings

Because Japan is popular and they’re always looking to skinwalk popular things to spread their message.

However, Japan is more popular than ever because it offers (relative) escape from them and their cult teachings.

I can imagine the devs of this looking at the release of the Shogun tv series and shitting themselves at the thought of being compared
I think it would be the opposite. They likely saw a boost to their sales with the last season of Vikings coming out the same year they released Valhalla and now they're happy that normies that got hyped up on Samurai Japan from Shogun, so now they're thinking that'll help their game.

Japan as a setting was definitely a cynical decision, and it was always held back as their 'emergency button' AC setting because it's been one that people have been begging for since AC1.

I know it has been repeated to death (by me mostly), but it is still proven right: They do not care about doing the good thing, they care about looking like they are doing the good thing. They will scream from the rooftops about how they hit everything with the ugly stick and stuck a pride flag on every pixel but not even the all-seeing eyes of God Himself cannot find a single moment in which they tried to do justice to the people and cultures the claim to care for.

Did he yell "death to the oppressors" in that trailer?

Japan did not have African chattel slavery.

I know Assassin's Creed has always played fast and loose with history but this is pretty offensive. It's like portraying Canada as being complicit in the holocaust.

I'm generally not a fan of the term punching down but God damn does it look goofy as hell to watch this eight foot tall 300 pound nigger run around decapitating 5'5 Japanese guys half his weight.

>hip hop "music" starts playing when Nobunigga goes Johnny Somali mode
>no gore/blood

#StopAsianHate

There's something grotesque about a noticeably tall black dude going around slicing down Japanese people in feudal era Japan with a 99% Japanese population, considering the current reality of African Americans punching Asian American elderly and pushing them onto train tracks (and to a lesser extent, replacing the Asians and Whites in ivy league with lower IQ niggers/spics).

Normally I could excuse details like wrong architecture or overly fancy clothing with "Its just a game, its fantasy" but the AC series has always prided itself in recreating historical settings in the most faithful way possible, remember this is the series that recreated the Cathedral of Notre Dame in such autistic detail that it was actually used as a reference to rebuild the actual cathedral after it burned down.
So they have no excuse to mess up shit like that.

Ok so retarded tinfoil hat theory: You know how Kassandra is the canon protagonist in Odyssey yet 90% of the players actually played as Alexios the male option, same with Valhalla Female Eivor being the canon option yet almost everyone played as male Eivor? I feel like this is in part Ubisoft pissed off about that and going "Oh you want to play as a filthy male? Well you'll have to be a nigger then.
And funny enough in this game's case the girl being the canon protagonist and the nigger being just a side character would make more sense

They'd have been bothered by Ghost of Tsushima if anything, but that came out 4 years ago, before this game started in earnest. Ubisoft looked at that game, went 'but what if he was a niggerfaggot?' and plowed on ahead.

Saw a clip on Twitter where the nigger is walking through a town and all of the Japanese townspeople are bowing to him.

You can’t tell me that this isn’t some kind of sick and twisted humiliation ritual.

I hate niggers, faggots and trannies for ruining gaming (among many other things).
