General GunTuber thread

If you compare a subsonic round out of a 6in barrel to a supersonic round out of a 10in barrel, the supersonic round is almost certainly going to have more energy. KE=1/2mV^2.
The subsonic velocity out of an unmodified AR lower is the selling point of the round.

I guess someone at leviathan group probably wants people to move over to 8.6 Blackout now, since GT keeps shilling it over and over.
Those guys have a point, though. .300 BLK loads that use high quality expanding projectiles are going to perform better than 9mm. On the other hand, those high quality .300 BLK loads are 3x-6x the cost of 9mm Gold Dot, HST, Critical Defense, etc.

Mr. Thumb shooting subs at 300 yards was goofy. Who knew a projectile going 2400fps would outperform a projectile going 1000fps? .300 BLK subs are for 100 yards and in. That's my unprofessional opinion, anyway.
It's for engagement, the entire test is meaningless. They did next to nothing during this outing aside from shooting gel and plinking at shapes in the distance.
He successfully rustled jimmies in a caliber war that's been going for years.

I think that this video and the recent FocusTripp/Gundeals video have convinced my father that maybe he doesn't need a JAKL upper.
He seemed to think that it'd be good for pest control, but is now coming to realize that it probably would shoot larger groups than a .22 and drop just as bad. Plus ¢60 is a lot rougher than ¢10 for something you want gone to begin with.

Pray for him to get a 26 inch .223 with can, and for him to forget that subs even exist.

I'm super late to this, but I just found out Paul Harrell has cancer.
That dude is old, is the cancer bad enough to put him in the ground or do you think he will pull thru?
It's depressing to see many of these guntubers having age get to them. Hickok45 is getting up there, too. Are zoomers even into guns enough that we will get a new generation of guntubers at this point?

I've seen some zoomers into guns pop up in my recommended feed. So far, what I've found interesting is there's a noticeable split between what are, broadly, 2 different groups. On one hand, you have the guys who clearly grew up watching Garand Thumb and T. Rex Arms, and their videos feature a lot of high speed cool guy flat range larperating. On the other hand, there are the guys who seemed to prefer watching guys like Brent0331, and their videos are mostly about skulking around the woods with belt kit, ALICE packs and other milsurp. They seem more interested in camping and outdoors survival than 1R1 and Mozambique drills. I think the one thing that ties these 2 groups together (other than gun ownership) is the similar sense of humor. Plenty of politically incorrect memes/jokes, and anime/video game related morale patches on both sides.

I hope the second group sticks around and the first group outgrows the "check out how fast my splits are" stuff.

Sometimes the 1995-2000 years are referred to as “Zillennials”
pretty accurate tbh, young enough where computers, nintendo DS, playstations etc were an everyday part of our childhood, computers being pretty widespread being used in schools, but got to spend early childhood touching grass and without smartphones.. but old enough to have experienced the disaster of smartphones in the hands of dumb teens first hand.. truely the inbetween of milenials and zoomers

Yep, we used the internet and computers at school but still played with toys and outside at home as well as video games too. We were still like the 90’s until we hit middle school and smartphones came out and laptops got cheaper so we had access to porn and other garbage.
Brandon always looked like a man in his mid 40's to me. I was really shocked to find out he was only in his mid 20's.
Tbh I thought dude was 30 like 5 years ago when I first started watching him. I think if he shaved that beard off and got a haircut he’d look younger.

Garand has the horror look as though he found out that Leviathan is a front for Madam Veil and Cobra to kidnap attractive manly men on YouTube and steal their faces via her face stealing machine so she can sell them to evil rich old men so they can have eternal youth......
