I think they're assuming that when Valve "fixes" CS:2 they can just copy and paste it to TF2 without knowing the difference between tick rates those two games have, not to mention many weapons in TF2 aren't hitscan.

The #FixTF2 shit is so gay because its basically retards outting themselves and admitting they unironically play casual matchmaking or shitty community servers. I play on some small scale community servers with custom maps and never once had the majority of the issues these faggots have. Genuinely depressing to see people think the height of TF2 is uncletopia and skial slop. This "community" is so retarded.

Quickplay's only real benefit over the casual matchmaker is that it counted community servers, but that's a pretty poor selling point when most community servers for TF2 these days are either running custom gamemodes or custom rulesets like limited classes and nocrits. Even when there were servers back during "quickplays peak" you'd often just get dumped into an empty server with bots in it.
Modern TF2 players seriously just need to learn how to use the classic server browser, it's not that hard to filter out the trash with a few tags and checkboxes. If someone can't figure it out for themselves then perhaps a color block sorting puzzle would be better suited for their gaming needs.

I don't remember exactly but couldn't you choose what options you wanted to see on a server with Quickplay? I remember you could choose stuff like crits or nocrits, community or official server, and a few other things.

Why are there suddenly Quickplay contrarians? Quickplay wasn't perfect, but by the end of it's lifecycle it was a solid serviceable way of playing TF2. People will talk about community servers as a downside yet Valve added the option for Valve-only servers in 2014, thus resolving this issue.

People aren't vouching for Quickplay to return because of community servers, they're vouching because of all the stuff we lost and all of the bullshit Casual matchmaking added in place of them. Meet Your Match nearly killed this game and is ultimately responsible for the absolute state of TF2 today.

What we lost because of Casual matchmaking:
  • Ability to choose your own teams (and at anytime)
  • Ability to spectate (cheaters are more noticeable)
  • Team Scramble (unbalanced game? just vote for a scramble)
  • Extend Map Time (being able to play on the same map as long as you like)
  • No round limit
  • More filled servers (autobalance and low-player count servers were less of an issue)
  • No pre-round timer and constant time wasting
  • Payload Race and other misc gamemodes (Casual matchmaking effectively killed these)
  • Beta maps (RIP rd_asteroid and pl_cactuscanyon)
  • Less relevant maps (people were forced to play on maps that aren't Badwater/Upward/Dustbowl by choosing based on gamemodes and not maps, letting them get an equal opportunity)
  • Ad-hoc connections (being able to connect to Valve servers via the community server browser)
  • Easily joining a friend's server by clicking their profile and hitting 'Join Game'
  • Faster server finder (matchmaking takes forever to find a match at times)
  • Cheater bot-free matches (they were non-existent before casual matchmaking was added, but appeared within the first week of MYM launching)
  • No competitive ELO system (ironically resulted in more balanced teams)
  • Death of a thousand community servers
Etc, etc, etc. Need I go on?

TL;DR: Casual mode/matchmaking sucks and if you think otherwise you're a retarded nigger faggot. #BringBackQuickplay

I always liked the quickplay/old tf2 system. The only thing that was retarded as fuck was being autobalanced by a vote when my le epic payload victory was inches away.

I've never even heard of the fagoli in the video, my opinions on quickplay are entirely from my most trustworthy source - my ass.

Quickplay was far from perfect, but would I take it and all of its quirks and flaws over modern matchmaking? Sure, but that's never going to happen with Valve continuing to be Valve. If Valve did come back to develop TF2 then I guarantee that it'll only get worse given how much they prioritise competitive-like mechanics in their other titles.
We just need actual vanilla TF2 servers back that don't try to change the formula and then somehow get the casual matchmaking glue sniffers to recognise and join them instead of wasting half an hour to find a server without bots with the more "convenient" route.
 
Over one month into #fixtf2 and with continued radio silence from Valve, the desperate TF2 community has resorted to plan B - Draw gay porn fanart of the bot hoster’s Twitter icons.

For the past 24 hours r/tf2 has been swarmed with underage users sticking it to the man by posting crudely drawn images of robots in maid outfits sucking cock, getting fucked, and other acts of sexual depravity. This ingenious plan continues to develop, but there has been pushback from the greater community who have suddenly realized how retarded this is even for them, and that encouraging kids to draw gay porn to save their favorite virtual dress-up game may be bad optics.

For now the gay robot fucking has been isolated to its own subreddit, but the occasional omegatronic maid-bot still makes it to the front page, proving that no matter what - the community can still somehow sink lower
