"Bronze-age superstitions" drives me nuts. Every r/atheism idjit loves tossing that out in random conversations, always trying to derail whatever actual discussion was happening before. The passive-aggressive sarcasm, the desperation for negative attention, it drives me up a wall. It's worse than when they quote Dawkins or misquote the bible, while insisting that only they have ever actually read it.
It's not even accurate, they're almost always whining about Christianity specifically, which is entirely Iron-age. Even the Old Testament is mostly from the Iron-age. They'd have to go after Hinduism if they wanted a major Bronze-age religion to attack, and I've never seen an atheist that knew jack shit about Hinduism.
Or Buddhism, which they often assert is "more of a philosophy and not really a religion", like they're fucking Lisa Simpson.
Same with "Toxic", in almost exactly the same way.
