Just to circle back to his stupid bleach justification.

Obviously it's acceptable to have bleach in your house because there are appropriate purposes for having bleach (like cleaning. I know Nick isn't much for that but some people do it). You are expected to prevent your child from consuming bleach. If your child consumes bleach, that is neglect. If your child consumes bleach, you are going to need to provide CPS with a reasonable plan to prevent that from happening in the future. Nick is a retard who won't even discuss a plan to protect the children.

If your child shows up at the hospital with any number of injuries, you get asked questions that are obviously screeners for CPS. If your answers don't make any sense, CPS gets involved.

CPS is a Kafkaesque nightmare and the best way out is to be As Cooperative and Respectful as Humanly Possible. Whatever the 23-year-old assigned to the case wants, you do, and you do it with a good attitude. It's the worst possible situation for someone like Nick. It actually takes self control for parents who are being targeted for what they feel are dumb reasons to swallow their own unhappiness and suck it up so they get their kids back faster. Nick could never do it.

For once there was a brief glimpse of conscience and contrition in Kayla, when she tearfully hugged her eldest out in the hallway and said "these are the consequences of our actions."
Behind on the new matter of public record, but this hurt to read. Right in the feels. Don't care about Kayla, but couldn't help see parallels in my own life experience.

Damn Nick for dragging his family through this hell. He should have stepped up if Kayla was the root issue (doubt). Instead, he used his authority as father and husband to turn a refuge into a prison. No child deserves Nick and Kayla as parents.

Yikes, Balldo. Yikes.
You really should neck you child-abusing piece of shit.
I'm only halfway through, redactions in progress.

Step one would have been to refuse to have five kids one after the other with a woman who had difficult pregnancies and obvious mental health concerns.

10) As reiterated in later case plans, Sweep elaborates on KCHHS' safety meeting's attempt to "plan around drug use" having been hampered by the parents having "stated they do not want to answer any questions regarding that" and KCHHS having been "unable to do any safety planning around returning the children" because they had "not been able to establish sobriety" or "establish how these substances were found and got into the home" in the first place.
I am once again vindicated. I told you CPS was willing to some extent allow the crack use if it meant less work for them. It's not that Nicky loves coke too much, Nicky just hates his kids that much.

Vyvanse is a medication for ADHD, and narcolepsy. Nick could totally have abused it for himself.
Vyvanse is a long acting, slow release medication so it's not really that great for getting high.
Why are we talking about Vyvanse? The documents state both children were on methylphenidate (Ritalin/Concerta) not lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse).

Methylphenidate is prescribed for ADHD and narcolepsy. Lisdexamfetamine is prescribed for ADHD and binge eating disorder. Lisdexamfetamime only comes in extended release. Methylphenidate comes in both instant release and extended release, but interestingly, even its extended release is shorter than lisdexamfetamine (6-12 vs 10-14 hours).

Another difference is that lisdexamfetamine is a prodrug, meaning it isn’t active until your body metabolizes it. Methylphenidate, on the other hand, takes effect almost right away, making it more prone to abuse.

Regardless, when there is a parent who is addicted to stimulants (like Nick), and they have a child is prescribed a stimulant (like two of Nick’s kids), there is zero chance that parent is not taking at least some, if not all, of their child’s meds for themselves.

Good job cleaning up the Balldo Lair like a bucko.

Their relatives might be required to watch some videos to see substance abuse signs.

How humiliating.

Here's the process we have. They do a quick test to examine exposure levels and then it likely goes to GC-MS if the preliminary test returns a positive.

Balldo DENIES Sweep entrance to his lair. She can't even teach the adults how to wipe surfaces down with BLEACH.
Did you know Bleach is more dangerous than cocaine???

I've seen people say that Rekieta is planning to take a plea deal. At this point, I doubt it, not only because of his massive ego, how much of a dumbass he is, etc., but if he actually was planning on taking a plea deal, he would have no reason to stick to this ridiculous "the drugs might have been FOUND at the home but you have zero evidence we do drugs" story.

The only reason to play these retarded "you can't 100% prove that we've ever done drugs" games is because he thinks he can beat the criminal case.
I think most parents (at least the ones who actually care about their kids and don't resent them because they can't be absolute degenerates), and anyone within their right mind, would have prioritized their kids' wellbeing, worked with the agency, and done whatever they could to get the least damaging plea deal possible.

Instead, Nick decided that he's smarter than everyone else, that going "Nuh huh you didn't see me snorting the drugs so the law doesn't apply to me" is enough, and that sacrificing his kids wellbeing, stability, and mental health, is an OK price to pay for his right to keep his throuple alive (because Rekieta knows that if there are no more drugs, April won't have as much reason to stay).

It's all so fucking smarmy, the "well the piss test was negative so he must be clean" tactic (which only proves that, at best, he hasn't done coke in the last 4 days) , the objection by Rekieta wanting to pretend he is a real lawyer, the attempts to frame it as if the agency wasn't doing everything possible to reunite the kids with the parents, just all of it. These people are bsolute scum. All of them, including the enabling grandparents that refuse to believe their little boy is a full blown addict (and at this point I doubt Kayla's parents are much better).

I cannot see him changing his mind easily, and if he for some reason decided to work with the state and take a plea deal, it would be because he thinks he can skirt around the rules and continue doing what he wants (continue drinking, doing coke only every few days to not get positive test results, etc.), so for the kids benefit I hope he continues like this.

A court where you have no 5th amendment right against self incrimination and no presumption of innocence.
It’s not a criminal court lmao. They “err on the side of the child” which for better or worse is the only way they can intervene effectively.

And they do have those rights:

wasnt he planning on taking the plea deal only if he failed to throw out the warrant ie hoping to go down kicking and screaming and only after wasting the courts time which the plea deal is supposed to prevent will he try and "graciously" take a now much expired bargain.
Not going to lie, this family court process seems like a Kafkaesque nightmare.

id love to see a breakdown of the process of courts like this but from a lens outside of the rekieta situation because if theres any situation where someone just needs their smug ass railroaded until they lose it all its rekieta, so its really hard to view it objectively when rekieta losing more and more freedom to waffle on arrogantly about why child abuse is based is just a righteous thing.

The Aaron part was a joke but seeing as the crack pan is in evidence I could see the balldo sweepers would try to claim Aaron and April were the ones who introduced the crack to the house and April was the one cooking it.
The Balldoguards are gonna do what they're gonna do, and we get to laugh at them.

Half of those idiots are still trying to claim some coke just got sprinkled in the 9 year old's hair. That's not what a hair follicle test is about.

Parents will cover for their children.
Which is why I am shocked it can be considered okay for a biological relative to monitor a visit.

Even outside of the particular issues raised in Nick's case, it seems like a bad idea in general. A conflict of interest.

So that is actually how "they" get you. They've got the kids and they've got them on drug charges. If Nick and Kayla don't admit they brought the drugs into the house, CPS will just say "since we don't know how the drugs got there we can't recommend giving the kids back". It's very circular but in all honestly it's the right course of action.

If we ignore insane theories such as the cops planting everything or Eric July using black magic to transubstantiate cocaine into Balldo's bedroom, that's the right call.
If they knew how the drugs got there, they can just modify their behaviour (ie don't bring drugs in) and make sure the surfaces are clean. Clean up, get sober, be a bitch to the system for several months and get the children back. The children's welfare should transcend any gay political lolbert cope.
If they don't even know how the drugs got into the bedroom and occupied multiple surfaces, then who knows? That's in my opinion even more dangerous than the adults knowingly bringing illicit substances into the house. So one of Balldo's visitors snuck into his goon den, planted firearms with ammunition under his bed next to the St. Andrew's BDSM cross, planted a safe there, somehow got a hold of April's credit card, planted all the used drug paraphernalia around the room and...? And they didn't bat an eye?

If they're allowing someone to turn their master goon den into a drug den, what are they going to allow next?

We know the answer, they brought the drugs in and used them. They knew. They're unfit parents and the sooner they're under the prison the better.

Another testament to Nick's herculean work ethic can be found in the fact that he, Kayla, and the "live-in nanny" must not have been enough to clean the disgusting house so "hard to walk around...without stepping on clothing, bedding, blankets" on their own, because it turns out that the poor grandparents had to do much (if not all) of the cleaning for them. And even then, there was a noted failure to "remove any residual exposure" to cocaine by "wiping every surface down with bleach," because when it came down to selecting the appropriate "cleaning protocol," the Rekietas refused to even so much as discuss "what substance was there" and "don't necessarily believe that it was even in their home." Besides, why would such basic cleaning supplies even be around given Nick's protestations to Mayr about bleach being so much more dangerous to children than cocaine?
This guy is loaded with a trust fund and has his grandparents, his GRANDPARENTS, clean his house. By all means I’m not rich but I still have a professional service come out and do work on the carpet at least once a year. I’d be loathe to call my parents, much less my fucking grandparents whom I dearly love and want nothing more for them to enjoy their lives to come by and clean my shit.

Holy fuck.

Right? It's fucking embarrassing. And it's not even like they are both working 9-5s where I could sort of understand the grandparents helping out, Balldo barely works and Kayla is a stay-at-home corpse. It should've broken his heart seeing his grandparents janny for him IRL but that would of course require having one.

In Family Court there's nothing criminal to incriminate yourself nor any act to be adjudicated guilty/innocence. There is no jail time or fines. No property is at stake.
This is also why being an obstinate dickhead is prolonging the situation.

Everyone knows Nick has a serious fucking alcohol and drug problem. He broadcast how strung out and fucked up he was for the entire world to see for months, if not years, depending on your standard.

If Nick had just admitted he had a problem, and doing so would have no effect on his criminal case, wanted help and half-ass cooperated with some counseling he would already have his kids back. It’s his absolute refusal to admit there is any problem, or that he has ever taken drugs, that has made CPS determine he’s a danger to his kids because this is not a man in touch with reality and he is such an addict he can’t even take the very first step in “recovery” which is to just admit he has a problem.

I can only assume Nick loves his new child-free lifestyle and that’s why he has chosen this route. I don’t think his parents counted on the trust encouraging grandchildren to backfire so spectacularly. Nick’s breeding program was fully subsidized by his parents and he still could not hack it. What a fucking useless schmuck.
