I don't know how you take a "Plea Deal" when an 11 year old accuses you "And others" of raping an 11 year old.

I'm not a lawyer but it seems like it's either a child making completely unfounded claims or there is "something" there

No innocent person would be offered a plea deal on raping a fucking child and then actually take it.

Wonder if Delaware will make a statement somehow. Obviously it's a terrible idea to further link his name to this mess but we already know who he is and who his BIL is anyway - and his BIL confirmed it, so no shadow of doubt there.

The mental retardation ITT is insufferable. Legal loopholes be damned, what person willingly pleads guilty to being branded as a child rapist for life if he/she is innocent??? Not to mention this case happened over a decade ago, pre Me-Too era. The chances of some ~alleged schizo 16 yr old girl~ filing a false police report in 2010 about sexual abuse is insanely low. Nevermind how humiliating and invasive the questioning this kid would have to go through.

yes, false convictions can happen. yes, the legal system is not perfect. That doesn't mean everyone should play along and act as though pleading guilty to child rape is something a totally innocent person would do. Stop being retards. I think our society has reached a point where the gut human disgust isn't enough to dissuade people; at least not a big chunk of them.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if all of these high profile pedo exposures are part of the normalization process. I think they just want to keep the subject in people's heads.

Outrage isn't enough to stop the progress of evil. Having an objective foundation for morality is also very helpful (if not required), but it isn't enough either. You have to be able to say: "here's why what I'm doing is more satisfying to the soul than what you're doing". Not only that, but you have to be able to back that up by example. It should be obvious by looking at you and your life that you're not empty.

That's the only way to meaningfully push back against this stuff.

I fundamentally disagree. You know where you really can't fast forward: in meetings with British engineers. And what they say can be very well summarised in 2 sentences or often just in a simple yes or no. That is something where you are incapable of skipping. But YouTube drama and an overemotional guy crying, yes, you very well can skip and filter out the main points. You must be very young to be incapable of dismissing a statement that implies that the presenter will deliver very incriminating information. This has been a thing even before YouTube. YouTube is overflowing with videos where the person is building up tension, teases, exaggerates and tries to keep viewers interested. You fell for the easiest trick in the book. You're getting upset over something you did to yourself.

"You won't go to jail but we will literally ruin your life and put you on the most stigmatizing list in America that will prevent you from getting a job, a wife and even a place to live, hope you like living in a pedo trailer park (real thing) and getting hunted down and attacked on a regular basis (real thing) What a good Deal HUH?!"

No one who isn't guilty would take that fucking deal and if they did then they suffer from retardism so great they should be put into a care home.

We are not talking about one of those 65 IQ groids that gets coerced into signing a confession for a big mac combo, I'm sure this dude had a lawyer and if the lawyer said take it then they have more than "he said she said".

I get what you're saying, and I'm gunna preface this with saying it's better to assume that he's part of the 99% of people who actually did the shit they were accused of rather than coping that he could be a part of the 1% who end up getting framed/falsely convicted.
That being said, fuck man, in the 1 in a million chance someone is falsely accused, is it really worth taking the risk on a trial? Like how much evidence is someone likely to have of their innocence? The court system is pretty fucked, and it's not like they were accused of stealing a bike; they were accused of molesting a kid, so charitability shouldn't be expected. If someone is at the point where they are being given options for trial, they should expect to have a 90% chance of getting fucked, and if we're being real people get killed for this shit in jail every day, plus they'd still have to deal with the same shit as what they'd plea to once they got out. Idk, there's a reason people take plea deals, and it's because shit starts to make a lot more sense once they start throwing around numbers.

Regardless, fuck this guy, 99% chance he did it, and I'd rather not stake my claim on the 1% chance that he didn't.
