He hit a wall with his delusional '20 years of gamedev experience,' which mostly consists of QA and janny positions, and realized that monkey testing games won't actually help him develop a real game.

He's now in a comfortable position where he can play games or do fuck all on stream, posing as a gamedev sage with factually incorrect takes to his uneducated audience while still making a serious bag.

This says so much about him. He simply fell into the game development field because his dad worked at Blizzard, and this is nothing but a grift to gain e-fame and money. He didn't become a developer out of a passion to create; creating is a burden he has to endure to be able to flex.

And now he has the recognition as the l33t h4x0r and a veteran Blizzard developer, so he doesn't have to suffer anymore from having to create.

I wonder if the whole blackboard thing is part of the LARP. It's pretty common for streamers to use ms paint for when a quick and dirty drawing is needed to explain something, but setting up the blackboard thing requires the extra steps of swapping the tools around to paint the canvas black and then switching the colors. Only takes 10 seconds but defeats the point of an off the cuff explanation. The only reason I would think to do this is to maintain the epic reddit programmers use dark mode for everything aesthetic

Although, I am not sure what plagiarized in that situation means, was the game copypasted, or some of its concepts were too similar to the thing being ripped off, like sprites/mechanics?

I remember coming across this retard and thinking he was initially okay, but the more you watch him and you realise how self-assured and egotistical he really is. Every fucking answer he gives to every question has to be the only correct answer. It's never just giving an opinion on something like a normal person, he's so confident that he knows everything that he can't even fathom the possibility that he could be wrong.

I used to work with a guy like this who was so assured that his opinion was 100% fact. His response was simply the only logical response and anything else was wrong. A shmup is about as easy to make as a French omelet. It's only difficult if you want to make a good one.

If i were to guess it is just due to what Undertale did. My guess is that his actual passion is multiplayer games and furry games... much like his beloved Second Life, WoW, and Minecraft. But those cost an arm and a leg to make, as well as being a pain to maintain and have to have programmers who might think you're wrong. So it's not a feasable project for him. He then turn to the other furry game he liked, Undertale, and jumped on from there.

The claim came from the Student Aid/Assistant who was a tall spindly motherfucker. I was too busy trying to animate in Flash to really care what accusations were flying around at that moment. What I recall was it was being an "asset flip" from "Lunch items" to "Spam and eggs" or something of that nature. Remember this was 2004-2005ish and he was going around saying someone named "Loupe Garou" from "Sexyfur" that "Stole his (Jason's) artwork". Looking back and looking at his shitty MS paint artwork today I'd have to come to the conclusion that he was a lying sack of shit who made it a hobby to steal other people's work and claim it was his own. I think Jason also claimed he was doing furry animations for that website 2 years later and the owner ghosted him (don't know the rest of the story other than he was assmad for actual years after the fact).

Can't vouch any more information because I don't know anything. He used to go ghosthunting with people that had graduated a few years before he did then suddenly stopped one summer saying "He witnessed some weird shit at the farm" in nearby canyons. Not my cup of tea. I got enough horrors to deal with in the real world.

Edit: I looked at the website I mentioned and there is no fucking way in Hell Jason had enough skill to animate these works with his skills today so the idea he was "Working for a paysite" when he was 18 has to be an outrageous lie too. That being said it's still furry trash and a bunch of animal-man dicksucking. Typical Jason Hall gooncave fodder.
