Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

3rd best selling on steam by numbers released on valve I should have said.

this is just a cope because regardless of what you think of it starfield was financially successful
This is just common sense, my dude. Of course, people who actually paid for Starfield(a minority, since most people refunded it and/or played it on Gamepass and un-installed it) wouldn't know any common sense.
If Starfield really was as successful as you say, there would be a lot more content and bragging from Bethesda. There isn't, they're even more quiet than when Fallout 76 flopped, which just about says it all.
Speaking of cope...

$400 million budget with marketing and under 3 million copies sold at full retail. Even 4 million at full retail is likely not enough when you factor in the cut that Steam and physical retailers take. I honestly don't see how this game was profitable. Game Pass absolutely cannibalized the sales and its DLC seems to be dead already. And it being some big system seller and exclusive was laughable.

I would guess that Starfield represented a small loss for Microsoft at best. And possible large loss when you factor in that it could have been another Fallout or Elder Scrolls game instead. Which would have actually made money.

I’m sure you have a source for this, otherwise you’re just blowing hot air out your ass because of personal grudges over obsidian 10 years ago.
How many people do you know that still play this game? Talk about it? How many content creators are actively making content for the game?
This was a rental at best. Let's not forget the game leaked, so people knew how much of a disaster it was, warning them not to buy it and get it thru game pass/pirate it.
Starfield failed, nobody bought it. If that was actually the case, Bethesda wouldn't shut up about it. You can put as much lipstick on this pig as you want, it's still a pig. Next you're gonna tell me Fallout 76 didn't flop because it still has a few paypigs grinding out levels for it.

Your points are purely anecdotal and vibes based, theres no proof, it’s wishful thinking, there’s more evidence for it being financially successful than not.
and fallout 76 absolutely did flop on release, but has since gone into the green because of whales that still play it and buy everything that they shit out in the cash shop.

I can guarantee you that you're the only person on the internet right now giving this much of a shit about Starfield, aside from maybe some trannies who got way too invested into it emotionally.
The game failed, let it go. So did Fallout 76 btw, and no it didn't get better, neither will Starfield.

I'll admit it was more financially successful than I knew, I'm not sure why I thought it did so poorly. I stand by my original point though regarding DLC in that I think they will be less and less inclined to make proper DLC now they see the huge potential in online whalebux.

You're looking at this statistic, perhaps reposted in some other form I presume? I've seen this one before and it's not that rosy. The exact number of sales is irrelevant in the face of a revenue figure so let's assume that's accurate and move on. Disregarding Valve's 30% cut, let's also assume that Xbox sales are similar, though considering gamepass' prevalence, I doubt they are. That's under $500m in revenue at best for a game that took like seven years and presumably somewhere in the ballpark of $400m to make (as is typical of the rest of these high profile stinkers from this past year) and that's being conservative. FO4 sold 12 million copies on launch day and was made for a fraction of the budget. Microsoft bought Bethesda for those numbers, not whatever the hell Starfield put up. Starfield probably made some money but it can't have been that much. Like I said, if it was a knockout, we'd know.

I never claimed it was a knockout success (and it never would have been because of gamepass cannibalisation) just that at the end of the day it made some money at the very least, some people seem desperate to paint it as an enormous disastrous bomb that will kill Bethesda but there’s no indication of that.

We get it, you like Outer Worlds. Can you stop shilling the game now? Almost every post you make in here and the fallout thread is "Starfield / Fallout sucks and OW is so much better guys"

You'll bend the knee to that game with tears in your eyes., know your betters.....

Reminds me of the bitter cope surrounding Diablo 4. Made over a billion dollars without factoring in microtransactions, but nooooo it was le heckin' failure Chud! None of my friends updoot it in conversation!

Separate personal opinion from critical and financial metrics.

Streamers I watch who will replay Skyrim and Fallout 3 or 4 once a year did a playthrough of Starfield and never mentioned it again. They didn’t even play Shattered Space.

I don’t know anyone playing it. The few who tried gave up early.

Once this stream stopped getting bumped I think even Reddit will have given up on it.

So, we're over one year in. What is Starfield's legacy?
Well, let's see:
*Bugs
*Wokery
*Bugs
*Worst Bethesda game of all time, hands down
*Absolutely wasted potential
*Bugs
*9 hour Patrician video and other video essays
*Babyface video melting down over how BORING it is and about FUCKING PRONOUNS
*Shitty DLC that came out just recently and fixes nothing, adds nothing
*Bugs
*Barely any mods, tools came out way too late
*Mogged by a mid Obsidian game 4 years prior

I guess one positive is that Pete Hines is out. RIP BOZO
Yeah, if you defend this game in anyway, dunno what to tell you. This isn't a "Well, it's not great but I like it!" kind of game, this is slop and if you fight online over this game's honor then you're "part of the modern audience" that game dev companies like to talk about. Nobody bought this game and nobody truly enjoyed it, these are just facts. Nobody is even going to remember it's second anniversary.

Yup, not easy having a patrician taste this good but I try!

Did todd fuck your girlfriend or something? No other way I could reasonably explain someone being this buttmad about a mid space game.

It’s the Internet. Everyone has to act like anything shit is Sonic with blue arms and they’re Chris Chan.

I’m not sure why everyone on the Internet is LARPing as autistic but I’d guess it’s a diet of nonstop anti-SJW YouTube grifter videos, never going outside, and being a turbo virgin.
