Nick is in a financial hole that selling the house won't get him out of. He's never listened to his lawyers in the past, even when he was paying big bucks for their advice. So I am not out of the loop (I don't think), but is the current prevailing thinking that someone (his lawyer or someone else) is stopping Nick from streaming? Because up until that hearing he lost (denied denied denied) he sure was singing a different tune online etc. Now suddenly he is awol except for these random tweets to nobodies.
He's only getting out of his current hole with the help of his parents and it's a no-brainer that they're the ones currently exerting influence.
There are different types of trusts. Trusts created for high net worth individuals are often far more complex than those created for middle class and upper middle class people. You can create trusts which are pretty much untouchable if you have the means. As far as I understand, and @AnOminous or other well informed kiwis may set me straight, but while you can do all sorts of tricks with property and trusts and so on, ultimately a court will dig it out and make you pay. (Otherwise everyone would do it).
More importantly, Celeste and Bob have the money to offer Kayla a generous settlement without going through any kind of prolonged and expensive legal battle. It would be to Nick's advantage, too, to come to such an arrangement rather than having to secure an income which allowed him to make significant support payments for the next couple of decades.
