That one author wasn't the only fraud consultant that Ubisoft hired for this AC Shadows crap. They also hired a fujoshi who convinced them that it would be ok to have Yasuke be gay because of some yaoi fanfic shit she wrote about japanese priests and little boys. They hired another consultant who just turned out to be some dude in California who knew fuck all but was supposed to inform them about japanese trends, social media, etc.If Ubi was smart they'd get rid of Yasuke entirely and focused on Naoe. She's looking fantastic imo. I just want to run across rooftops and infiltrate buildings and slash people.
What exactly would make ubi delay it? Glitches? Unfinished? Like is this an ME3/DA2 situation and they want to avoid rushing it out and genuinely perfect it?
I bet it was the whole thing with the guy who wrote about Yasuke because I admit I didn't even realize he fucked it up until it was revealed. Technically in a way I don't blame Ubi for being misled. Even if his more 'known' stuff was fictional they could still make something out of it.
It's delayed because it wasn't initially going to be released on every platform at once. They want to maximize the initial sales because they know it's going to flop. Same reason they cancelled the few days early access for pre-ordering recently as well. They know the game is going to get bad press no matter what. They're also likely cleaning up a number of asset and animation problems ike the chinese architecture and decorations in their trailers, in addition to the various animation fuck ups in the trailers. Even if this game didn't have the Yasuke problem, it's still got the baggage of everything else dumb with it plus their marketing failures of showing off geisha dolls(wrong era), knock off swords from fucking One Piece of all things, footage of no one watching their bullshit and their booths being empty at trade shows, and so on.
