Dramacow Kevin Allred - Professor of Beyoncé Studies (no, seriously), arrested for threats to kill Trump voters.

I'll note Rutgers has a law school and a well known litigation clinic that often does First Amendment law, and somehow, this idiot isn't being defended by them.
I was actually discussing this with one of my law school classmates. Very telling that they aren't representing him/he isn't using their services.

Probably to avoid any complications when Rutgers inevitably fires him. I imagine they want to forestall the argument that "Your own guys said this was OK behavior".

There is no open case at the moment.

What do you mean by that and where did you get such information?

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure if charges had been filed (and I doubt they will be) we would have heard the rreEEEEEE from time zones away but have you been talking to the federales to learn about the status of the investigation (...assuming he didn't make the whole thing up)?

It never went to trial, did not go back to jail after being bailed out early on. Every charge was dropped or reduced.

I don't think there's one of him burning the flag, he's only tweeted about it. You might be thinking of this:
It's from the Chris Hall thread (https://kiwifarms.net/threads/chris-crystal-hall-transqueerbitch.26910/).

That would be why, I read the threads one after the other.
Can't blame me for mixing up two different white males who burned flags and chimpout on twitter.
Thanks tho fam

Sources?

  1. "I hate all white people", "this is not a threat"
  2. e-begging
  3. "FBI gonna show up at my house tomorrow morning"
This is turning out to be quite the cow. Kevin, if you need to say it's not a threat, then it probably was a threat. Also, guy 100% knows he's fucking up but wants the attention anyway, even if it's the worst kind of attention, from the FBI. Talk about being an attention whore.

Since the only reason you'd support this moron is to make a statement, and this alleged lawyer has made no public statement, I would guess that this lawyer just doesn't exist at all.

Probably because saying "I'm going to run over Trump supporters with my car" isn't really free speech as much as it is an actual threat.

He doesn't trust them because he reckons Rutgers are in on it all and he's being persecuted by them because he has "dirt" on them. Hmmm.

Huh? What charge? When did he get arrested?

Note: being sent to a psychiatric facility for an evaluation is not the same thing as being charged with a crime. Also, it sounds to me from his twitter rants that he wasn't even forced but was 'convinced' (i.e. was too scared of the big bad policemen to say no).

I suspect this may be so because he mentions something in his Medium spergings about the process being the punishment and how it's institutional gaslighting.

The old adage he's probably looking for is "You can beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride." He has no idea how gentle he has it compared to what that saying used to mean.

In this post, Kev fails at human rights forever.

His argument, notwithstanding that it ignores centuries of Constitutional jurisprudence, is also spectacularly wrong on its own logic because the thing with human rights is that they are, you know, universal, and the Founding Fathers recognised that and explicitly stated it. Didn't the Bill of Rights (apologies, I'm not a Yank so I can't be certain) have something about humans being endowed, inalienably, with certain rights and liberties simply by dint of being human. "We hold these truths to be self evident" etc. There was absolutely nothing therein about power and structural oppression. That's something that Kevin's shoehorning into it because he's an incompetent sped who should go back to fapsturbating to Beyoncé.

Basically, Kevin thinks that death threats are OK as long as it's made against white people by minorities, when the law says that death threats are a criminal act regardless of who makes them against whom.

Mm-hm, so freedom of speech only applies when you're Fighting The Power. Clearly we should appoint some wise overseers who can distinguish between true freedom fighters and run-of-the-mill shitlords. What could be more American than that?

Seriously though, it's a good thing this guy's not a real professor. Asserting with a straight face that America's 18th-century founders interpreted everything through the lens of mid-20th-century leftist thought would get you laughed out of any serious academic activity.

He lost all credibility when he decided to teach a class on Beyoncé Studies, so, in for a penny, in for a pound...
