Dramacow Kevin Allred - Professor of Beyoncé Studies (no, seriously), arrested for threats to kill Trump voters.

Seriously though, it's a good thing this guy's not a real professor. Asserting with a straight face that America's 18th-century founders interpreted everything through the lens of mid-20th-century leftist thought would get you laughed out of any serious academic activity.
Or if this was a few decades back, get him beaten for being a commie pinko.

His argument, notwithstanding that it ignores centuries of Constitutional jurisprudence, is also spectacularly wrong on its own logic because the thing with human rights is that they are, you know, universal, and the Founding Fathers recognised that and explicitly stated it. Didn't the Bill of Rights (apologies, I'm not a Yank so I can't be certain) have something about humans being endowed, inalienably, with certain rights and liberties simply by dint of being human. "We hold these truths to be self evident" etc. There was absolutely nothing therein about power and structural oppression. That's something that Kevin's shoehorning into it because he's an incompetent sped who should go back to fapsturbating to Beyoncé.

Basically, Kevin thinks that death threats are OK as long as it's made against white people by minorities, when the law says that death threats are a criminal act regardless of who makes them against whom.

Mm-hm, so freedom of speech only applies when you're Fighting The Power. Clearly we should appoint some wise overseers who can distinguish between true freedom fighters and run-of-the-mill shitlords. What could be more American than that?

The beautiful thing about free speech is that it is free. Say whatever you want but understand there may be consequences for what you say. He doesn't understand tact or etiquette. Most normal people don't go spewing death threats. They understand there will be consequences for saying such things in a public forum

If his argument was that free speech should cover him saying these ridiculous things because he is an individual speaking against the (sort of, almost) government, I could see where he's coming from- a complete free speech position. But of course he can't stop there. No, he wants to be able to do and say whatever he wants but wishes to have the government shut down any individual who disagrees with him.

These are the kinds of views that end up getting people lined up against a wall when enough band together (on either side).

What baffles me about Kevin and other similar leftist cows (like ADF) is how they manage to maintain a large group of enablers/asspatters and never seem to get called out for being a FUCKING WHITE MALE. If you go by his rhetoric, isn't he a professional man/white-splainer who should sit down and shut up?

Their criteria are cis, het, white, and male. If you don't meet all of those criteria, you can claim oppression.

Nah, he has his place in the SJW food chain because he spends all his time loudly promoting black feminists and what-have-you. As long as he sticks to promoting ideas with an approved pedigree, and backs down whenever someone higher on the progressive stack calls him out, he's perfectly fine with that crowd.
If he ever tried to disagree with the party line, or develop his own lines of original thought on race, gender, etc., he'd be unpersoned by his "friends" instantly. But he won't.

Also, his idea that he's only going to be out of a job for 6 months is worth all the :optimistic:s I can muster.

I googled to see if has a Patreon up yet and found his website. Wow.

"Kevin was born and raised in Logan, UT. He is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at Rutgers University. Kevin's unique blend of pop culture, politics, interactive education, and entertainment also make him a highly sought after speaker and facilitator for events worldwide. "

Oh, really?

"In addition to the Politicizing Beyoncé curriculum, Kevin is a highly sought-after speaker and teacher on issues of intersectional feminism and pop culture; social justice; connecting across differences; and the utility of black feminist politics for diverse audiences. Always grounding his work in his own white male subject position, Kevin offers... blah blah"

Well, I guess since he keeps repeating it he must actually be 'highly sought-after'. Oh, I see he has a little blurb about an event he was at... just one, though... let's see who seeks him so highly: "YWCA of the University of Illinois calls Allred 'hot ticket' of the year!" -Andrea Rundell

Well. I guess if the University of Illinois- oh, I'm sorry, the YWCA of the University of Illinois- thinks you're hot stuff, you can punch your own ticket amirite?

He also has a podcast (https://soundcloud.com/beyondpopculture). I can't brave the smugness, sorry.

And let's close with his "core values"

I think I'm fluent in English but I'm pretty sure those are just a bunch of buzzwords stuffed together with no real meaning. Maybe he audited a marketing course between gender studies and getting the word "Brave" tattooed on his chest (because he's willing to threaten people over twitter).

"Relentless vulnerability" translates to "victim fantasy and passive aggression" in my SJW to English dict.

how in the world is disruptive creativity a good trait? Is he talking about being an 'activist?'
He is not creative; he just regurgitates pop-culture drivel and serves it alongside postmodern drivel.

Possibly off-topic but I can never figure how creatures like this survive financially. He must be paying somewhere in the ballpark of $2000/month in rent ALONE in Brooklyn. (I refuse to believe this knucklehead could ever live with another human being.) And the commute back and forth to NJ must objectively suck, if for no other reason that you'll never know if it is going to take one hour or three. Is the hipster cred of a Brooklyn address really worth it? I guess you could live without a car, hell he probably has to, but that would also put him at a disadvantage WRT to teaching his gems of wisdom at Clodhopper Community College that has no easy access to public transportation.

That he is able to afford two grand a month rent means he's privileged af.
