Plagued /r/TNOmod and the Reddit HOI4 modding community - When a subreddit for a video game mod turns to utter insanity

In Panzer-era TNO this would actually be a sentence to elicit excitement.
But the map's new!

Aren’t they just integrating another fucking submod again ?
Yes

What the fuck happened to Colombia and Paraguay?
Colombia is in Civil War and Paraguay decided to take more land from Bolivia during the Chaco war I guess.
>Pathetic Burgundy
Smaller, no agent of chaos world plans, so lame.

>Antralopa is gone
>Half the warlords are out
>Romania is bastardized
>The Brits are still here
>Iceland hasn't been liberated
>No African anarchy
>Pathetic Burgundy
>Finland is white

Delete this heresy immediately
I hope you bring back the photo loading screens and ditch the bad drawings as well as bring back this as the menu theme.
This one has always been my favorite.

Colombia has a civil war 4-way civil war and Paraguay conquered the Chaco region, and is able to invade part of Bolivia later down the line. How does the Axis winning WW2 cause those things? Nobody really knows, and the fact that there isn't a nazi path for Chile is honestly absurd knowing that Miguel Serrano was very influential even OTL, imagine what he coould do with full german support

This main menu theme fit the mod better than Burgundian Lullaby, which was just a cover of the SS Teufelslied. Toolbox Theory (yes, that's this song's name) fits the mood of "Darkest Timeline/Last Hope" that Old TNO had perfectly. The deepfake/edited photos also looked way better than the "some highschooler on deviantart"-tier drawings, it sold the atmosphere and the scary feeling the mod gives that "This almost happened..." in a war that shitty art can't.

Idle thought: The escalation in the music at 1:06 always made me think that, if there was a video attached, that part should be of Himmler looking at an ICBM or IRBM inside its silo, looming over a balcony, as the Reich's Hakenkreuz is painted over and replaced with Burgundy's curved one instead.

Smaller, no agent of chaos world plans, so lame.
If you had to rework Burgundy, I'd suggest keeping the idea that Burgundy is the North Korea to Germany's China...I.E., the Reich uses Burgundy to do shit that the Reich publicly can't, while also letting it be a sort of dumping ground for both SS members and NSDAP members that are considered "too radical" or just insufficiently loyal. Burgundy could still be more-or-less "independent", with Himmler having his own ideas, but he also knows he can't win a war with the Reich either conventionally or via nuclear exchange...so he dances to the music that Berlin tells him to, all while preparing to enact his own designs upon the world (ONE of which could be atomic holocaust...), with Berlin none the wiser.

This could even lead to some interesting new mechanics for players to navigate. Your goals could initiabe to utterly pacify the territory of the Ordenstaat and enact ENDSIEG, but Himmler's own SS legion is too few in number to both pacify the natives and keep the Reich unaware. So, choose between delegating duties to the "native" SS legions and risk being overthrown, importing men from the Reich who might not be as radicalized as they proclaim and risk Germany stopping you before ENDSIEG can be completed, or playing favorites with one of the "native" SS legions in the hopes that their loyalty can be assured just as much as Himmler's own SS legion.

Meanwhile, you rely a lot (initially) on support from Germany, so you'll need to dance to the tune Berlin sets while gradually trying to set Burgundy up to be self-sufficient. Use Hans Hüttig's loyalty to the SS and turn Reichskommisariat Ostafrika into a backdoor for extra cash, resources, and slave labor. Castro's not completely in bed with America? Make backdoor deals with him to smuggle resources and money out of Cuba into Burgundy while subverting more and more of Cuba's government and infrastructure...or kill him, use the assassination to put someone else in charge that's friendlier to the Reich and Burgundy, and blame the Americans for it. Exploit the Eastern European Reichskommissariats being poorly manned and neglected by Germany, slowly turning them away from Berlin and towards Ost-Paris.

How much are you willing to compromise the values of the SS and New Aryan Man to accomplish ENDSIEG and maintain the Ordenstaat? Will you maintain the environmentally friendly laws that Hitler signed, or will you sacrifice them on the altar of industrial prowess? Will you still say smoking is bad, or will you cultivate the drug trade for black market cash? Will you maintain the SS Legions as an elite fighting force for the Aryan Race, sent only to fight "righteously" for the Fatherland, or will you use them as little more than thugs for hire, going all around the world murdering and looting anything of value to send back home?

And...well, what form will ENDSIEG wind up taking? Will you commit to an atomic cleansing of the subhumans? Subverting the Reich and plunging the rest of the world into chaos, using the Reich as your shield? Or breaking away from the Einheitspakt entirely and running Burgundy as a nuclear-armed hermit kingdom, presenting itself as a paradise for all True Aryans to live in, free from degenerates and subhumans?

Yes. Its Deep Freeze which has had Antartica... which on paper would not be bad. Its kinda neat and cool. The only issue is for something like KR or EAW this would not seem bad since it would be another drop with countless updates. The issue with TNO is that they have not updated in sooooo long. They are having paradox levels of content of like one update a year.

I was under the impression that Crow and Bull was to be the next big update to TNO. You know, a mod that focused on some of the bigger players of TNO?
There are so many tno updates like Creaking Wheel, Penelope's Web, Europa Naben, who knows what goes on behind the scenes now.

TBF the Columbia one is historical. Its based off la violencia
Which they had become worse in this time due to Iberian and Italian influence amongst right-wing Spic leaders and populists. With a dash of Japanese and German backers in there too. I will give them credit. Having LatAM content is not entirely bad as the Soviets only really had socialist ideology going for them in the region IRL. Japanese, Germans, and Italian all have historical and cultural ties to Latin America + it being America's sphere and backyard.

I finally tried out the new DLC this weekend. There's a bug on Linux where when you click to select the air wing to carry out a nuclear strike or dam raid, the game crashes to desktop. I saw there were other people on the steam forums saying they have the same issue. Great job play testing Paradox. Hopefully Paradox fixes it in the next patch, but I honestly am not holding my breath. The game works through Proton, but the UI doesn't scale nicely for me when doing that and you have to switch the game to OpenGl or DirectX 9 otherwise the game doesn't launch.

I like that track! Admiral Ackbar was the first composer for TNO if memory serves correctly. I normally don't like this ost but his songs are pretty good. What's funny is that he got the job through memes on the subreddit. Those were good days.

Also, can you provide an example for the loading screens you're referring to? I have the old loading screens, though I had to provisionally disable them. They somehow were causing game crashes.
