Mega Rad Gun Thread

What are some good options for glock barrels? I finally bought a can and I need a threaded barrel for my G19 so I can be a cool operator.
Bar-Sto generally needs fitting but are very good. Storm Lake offers drop ins that are quite good too. Lone Wolf are decent drop ins and they offer a threaded version off their site. i've had hit or miss with Tactical Innovations barrels for a threaded 10mm for one detective's Glock 29 SF. i had to fit the lock up and adjust the seat for the recoil assembly, but the other spare barrel (non threaded) was drop in. both were good quality.

I'll defer to the opinions of others in the thread, but I've had good experiences with the AIM Surplus Glock barrels, and right now they're cheap as fuck ($35-45) so probably worth a shot.

I've also used Wolf barrels with no issues, but I don't think AIM carries them any more.

Some Russians making AK rat-shot cartridges for use against drones:

I could see some variation of ratshot being distributed to infantry as a last resort against drones, IMO.
like you're given a single mag of it, and if your anti-drone guy is occupied with something you just load that & shoot it at the drone while you wait for the guy with the shotgun to come deal with it.

What is the most absurd rechambering forced upon the Lee Enfield? Bonus points for the No.1 Mk3 as opposed to the No.4
It's a pretty stout action but, hold up fam. The most elephant killer round in human history is 303 brit.

Also 7.7 jap and 303 fit in same guns, almost same round. Now during island hopping I read from many credible issues japs and brits swapped ammo when they needed. Check the size and CPI. Personally I reload so I don't want to make the risk. I've seen 375 H&H done many times and that's a great rechamber. Personally if I was in big game I'd rather a larger round esp cat hunting.

I'm sure a bigger nerd/googler can find how far you can push the SMLE. I think the 30 cal it has is really handy. It's worked against bull elephants.

Now I think the Mauser/Ariskia lay out is better for big single shots/bolts. But I digress. I'd personally like to snag a pajeet SMLE and rebuild if you tell me how big we go.

Im sure youd do great in the .5 seconds it takes the drone to reach you.
worse case you look mad swag dying. If I go out in war I want to die with some pirate shit on me.

Survivor bias, but most of the drone videos I've seen have been five plus dudes quaking in a single trench as you can hear the drone zipping around in the background. At any rate, it takes like 60 bucks to make a nice sawed off that can stand up to a few hot 12 loads? Compare that to 100 per drone that can carry ordinance. If I cared about my men, a sawed off SBS would be as standard issue as a canteen.

The internet is the absolute worst way for a quick physics lesson in regards to action strength, shit reaches back decades at this point where it's just hearsay stacked on hearsay depending on someone's personal account of being pretty sure they didn't double charge/underload their case and definitely didn't use pistol/cannon/range flakes they had just lying around.
These are the same retards that buy the cheap Turkish ammo that has been exploding guns for the past year or so because they don't want to buy PMC.

I've heard talk of 45-70 and .444 Marlin, although I've not seen one myself. Then there's the abominations cooked up by Australians post-war including the below .303/22 (not my picture):

China coming through when Flux won't, for the actual price these chassis are worth. I'm willing to buy this for $100 vs what Flux wanted (and will want) for the "real one")
i kind of feel like i missed out not buying the farrowtech mp7 style brace for my cp-33 but every time i see a video of a flux raider or one of those things in action i see that the stock is flopping around and im i didn't spend $200 on that shit

i've spent many years on the internet dredging through some of the worst excesses of the warez and hacker sphere and the hair brained shit that people do to their machines and software to make them function out of spec. what's curious about firearms is that guns are actually extremely simple and very easy to approach with a scientific and objective eye, there's over a century of essentially open source material to refer back to when it comes to guns, and yet the gun "community" is without question the least reliable and overtly narcissistic bullshit minefield imaginable. do not trust any information you get about guns from the internet without directly verifying it with someone who physically owns that firearm who you also trust their discretion. this doesn't have anything to do with safety, boomers are just notoriously unreliable and they will aggressively gatekeep information out of spite.

i had an opportunity to buy a snubnose j frame 32 revolver for cheap and i was very shocked to find out that pretty much everything i ever read about 32 revolvers did not hold up. it's like 18 ounces, its not a small gun, compared to a p32 or a baby browning its absolutely massive, and you get 6 shots of an 80 grain bullet at 800 fps - and those bullets cost $2 each. i don't understand how anybody would choose to carry this unless they're specifically appealing to some fantasy about revolver reliability or specifically appealing to a fantasy about ammo avaliability... which are perfectly valid justifications for carrying a snubnose j frame i guess. but now i look back on all of those forum posts about The Best Gun To Carry and realize they are willfully ignoring all of the factors that people actually consider when looking for a gun for the sole purpose of propping up a very thin larp. the executives in charge of the industry fall in this category too, they're still coming out with 32 snubnose revolvers. nobody makes ammo for them anymore, there's 4x more 25 acp on the market than .32 revolver ammo, who the fuck is buying this shit?

thank you for coming to my ted talk

this should work just fine. .50BMG will chamber and fire just fine in a 12 guage. its not even that dangerous because all the pressure just vents out the bore around the bullet.
