And y'all are trying to tell me Assad won't hang by Christmas eve?

Prediction time: Will Assad be killed by the rebels, be killed by his own in a place coup, or escape to Iran? The clock is ticking...
I'm going to predict that Assad escapes, although I'm not sure where he would/could run to. I can't imagine this being a Saddam Hussein situation where he gets captured, but it's not impossible.
There is probably going to be no coup, all the major SAA leaders are his relatives or friends.
It doesn't seem like a coup is likely, but at this point it wouldn't surprise me due to the rapid collapse of Assad's hold on Syria in just under a week.

FSA soldiers in Palmyra apparently. For Americans, these are Our Guys™.

So at a minimum there are 5 active factions on the rebel side, which themselves are probably are made up of dozens of other groups. We got HTS, FSA, SDF (Kurds), "The Southern Rebels" (Trade name pending) and SNC (Turkish Janissaries).

Multiple sultans lamented how absolutely dogshit Arabs and Ottoman-turks were at combat.
Yes, they lamented "Levends" and "Azabs" who were little more than peasant levies and irregular raiders, this is like comparing a weekend soldier National Guard of 1 week training to a USMC veteran of 2 wars. Also Sipahi, the main cavalry is 100% Turkish, the Timariots on the other hand were fully muslims around 1600's when local christian landholders were assimilated and converted. Sipahis and Timariots have been always rivals and even enemies of Janissaries when peace set in due to heritage difference.

I'm not Ottomanbooing, you might not believe but IRL I am one of the most hated men in Turkey in twitter due to my hatred against ottomans because they destroyed and melted down Turkishness to a mere subnation whose job was only to fight in wars and work in the fields as Greek and Armenian minorities with their hairy heads and hooked noses got into trades and easy crafts and overwhelmed the economy (sounds familiar?)

Then the CUP started to give the genuine Turks power, and we promptly became the more privileged class until Adnan Menderes and its ilk slowly started to erode Turkishness with Langley blessings.

Back to the war, the Aleppo conquest is being celebrated by majority here, except some people who criticize Erdoğan for letting Kurds take over the oil areas and we are stuck with sandniggers and no oil.

#BREAKING Rebels captured Mu'damiyah city 8KM south of the Damascus presidential palace AND 1KM AWAY FROM DAMASCUS AIRPORT. Everyone in the video shoots: "Freedom, freedom freedom!) حريه حريه حريه

Mrs Asma Assad surely still has her British passport…and her three kids most likely have theirs through her… wonder if they will catch a Wizz Air flight from Jordan to London Luton, which is only about 50 USD each…...if she threw on a headscarf n dark glasses she might pull it off…her problem would be getting to Amman…is there a bus? Or have all buses been cancelled…due to ……some kind of war….? She is the Marie Antoinette of 2024….i believe she was a banker….

Oh No - just seen this shit about her…in Wikipedia (fount of all knowledge)…..

“In the UK, she was a part of a preliminary inquiry within the War Crimes unit of the Metropolitan Police with allegations involving the "systematic approach to the torture and murder of civilians, including with the use of chemical weapons" and incitement of terrorist acts.”

cancel those flights to Luton and flush those bloody passports down the loo….whatever will she do?

She must have some additional mansions somewhere in the world…..

who will play her in the movie : “The Flight of Asthma”….? I have a spare inhaler….

Not anymore, Suhail al-Hassan was seen wounded at Hama and his 25th Division (rebranded Tiger Force) was destroyed as an effective fighting force in the battle for that city by HTS (even if the jihadis didn't kill every single Tiger Force guy, they evidently took enough equipment - and no replacements are forthcoming from Russia/Iran - to cripple them), photos/videos/links were posted earlier in this thread. Assad's real last hope now is his little brother Maher, (in)famous for being even more of a brutal & ruthless bastard than him, who commands the 4th Armored Division - another 'elite' regime protection force and probably the last mostly-intact formation he's still got (they've been sitting at Damascus this whole time).

If any line in Damascus can be expected to hold for more than five minutes, it will be Maher's. The SAA regulars (such as they are) have been filmed changing into civilian clothes and preparing to disappear in downtown Damascus already.

It'd be most appropriate to call the southern rebels the 'Southern Front' (since that faction forms most of these guys' manpower) or 'Southern Operations Room' (the joint ops room coordinating Southern Front + new allies who formed more recently, both the Druze guys and non-Druze outfits like the Free Houran Gathering). The Southern Front was best known back in the day for destroying the ISIS detachment in far southern Syria & taking half of Daraa from the SAA, but seemed to have been destroyed in 2018 once the full weight of the SAA + Hez + Russia descended upon them. Evidently they ackshually just went dormant and have now dramatically risen from the dead though. They're also pretty much all that's left of the original revolution and the old FSA, fitting as Daraa was where this all began.

These niggas are majorly wilding right now; according to the LiveUA timeline they've taken Assad's biggest remaining airbase in the far south, completely cleared the remaining southern province of Quneitra (OK that one's not a surprise, Quneitra is sparsely populated and a good chunk of the nominal province are taken up by the Israeli-held Golan Heights), chased away the few Russians still down there, springing (and likely recruiting) prisoners as they advance toward the capital and are now pushing into Damascus' exurbs, all within about 24 hours. As I've said before, the Southern Front have traditionally been actual moderates and they may actually be the last such major group in all of Syria that isn't Kurdish (and thus Communist-influenced), with little to no history of being sectarian dickbags like HTS - they have supporters in even Christian and Druze-majority parts of Damascus' greater metro area like Jarama. Not only would it be funny AF if these guys take Damascus before HTS does, but it would also probably be one of the better outcomes for Syria as a whole at this point, as a strong Southern Front can more effectively check on HTS's worst impulses and keep Al-Jolani from going full durka-durka retard on the Syrian people & his neighbors alike.

A loss list was released.

A 3-day SMO Done Right - 2024 Syrian Rebel Offensive and the Resulting Collapse of the Regime Military in Northern Syria

Limitations:
This list only includes captured vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed or captured by Syrian rebel forces is undoubtedly higher than recorded here. Losses of trucks, jeeps, etc. might be added later. Small arms and munitions are not included in this list to preserve the sanity of people documenting regime losses.

This list will be updated as additional footage becomes available.

Note: this list will at least for now list only equipment losses that happened on or before the regime collapse in Hama on December 5th 2024 - depending on the later events, this list might later be expanded, but if the regime falls, there would be no point in listing literally everything that the regimes military used to own.
Not listing broadly civilian vehicles is notable, as these are used to transport soldiers in this conflict. Also note that the cut off means that several days worth of losses are not yet included, including some large military bases and airfields.

Speaking of old factions rising from the dead...rebel cells have activated in Douma, site of the supposed gas attacks all those years ago. That's in Eastern Ghouta, Damascus' eastern suburbs basically, where a bunch of rebels held out for almost as long as the Homsi diehards around al-Rastan did. The survivors were supposed to have evacuated to the northwest in green bus convoys back in 2018, with the two biggest factions of Jaish al-Islam (looked like they could be contenders for Islamist leadership over HTS at one point, but then their leader Zahran Alloush got killed in an airstrike and the faction never recovered) and Faylaq al-Rahman respectively joining the SNA and falling in line behind HTS IIRC. Guess they thought far enough ahead to leave stay-behind elements in case an opportunity like this were to arise though.

Meanwhile pro-rebel Twitter reports that the American-backed al-Tanf rebels have driven all the way through the eastern desert and reached Damascus' airport. Unbelievable, if true then Assad doesn't have weeks or days or even hours but rather minutes to escape the capital if he hasn't already...
